What's new

ICC Under-19 World Cup | New Zealand Under-19s v Pakistan Under-19s

137-7 after 48 ov

btw on the other hand India having their second colapse of the innings

This time over Zia's head for a boundary. Fielders being pushed back now.

Nawaz bowling the last over. Hit to deep midwicket. One bounce to the fielder, just one run.

Then a yorker by Nawaz and the batsman is :out

Looks like NZ U-19 have as much talent as their senior team

But you hope they play like this when they come to pakistan team. Not what pakistan made to umar akmal from a batsmen to a slogger.

Before my time. I only got into cricket during the 2003 WC.

His allegations came after he retired, close to 2009 I think. He retired way before that.

Not to mention their extremely biased commentators

Since Fleming retired, and cry babies came back into the team, I am always glad to see the kiwis lose

I've seen a few games and I see a lot of potential in this team.

With the batsman, I haven't seen Sami do much but he has performed prior to arriving here. Babar Azam is definitely one to look out for. Imam Ul Haq also looks good. Saad Ali also oozed class in that innings against England. And then you have Umar Waheed who batted very sensibly as well against Afghanistan.

From the bowlers, they all have performed at times throughout the tournament. Usman and Nawaz have bowled superbly and picked up wickets along the way. The quicks have done the job as well at the start of the innings. Ehsan Adil has been unlucky not to have more wickets, Zia started off the tour not that great, but is getting better after each game. And Azizullah only played the warmups but he looked skiddy too.

It's really up to these boys now, how they push themselves and not become lost once they return to Pakistan.

youre a star for giving us all this colour. how has pakistan fielded in general fro what youve seen? are they maintaining our historic standards, or have they bucked the trend?

O'Donnel takes a sharp catch at backward point.

Imam is the batsman coming out to bat.

Yeah. Did a bit of research and his allegations came after the Asif dope test fiasco.

Fielding has been a highlight for this side. I've seen them diving around saving runs and also seen them take some sharp catches.

And then the running between the wickets is very impressive. Very un-Pakistanlike.

v good news indeed. lets hope they manage to keep it up!

ali for england has a catch dropped in the slips first ball. hes only bowling high 70s first two balls and has a stupid haircut.

Most of the guys coming from the recent U-19 teams have been good fielders. Umar Akmal, Hammad Azam, Fawad Alam, Ahmed Shehzad, etc.

ali takes his first, caught in slip. he has lovely control of some late outswing to the right handers. topley looks like the real deal - he should be in line for an england call pretty soon i should think.

wow ali with his second, clean bowled. a big anwar like inswinger after 1.4 overs of outswing.

sorry for the england updates, i cant see the pak match.

Short ball and top edged over the keepers head for four. Lucky Imam-Ul-Haq

Beatutiful shot by Sami. On his knees and hits the bowler over mid-off. Rolls to the boundary.

And Imy now hits one through second slip now for another run. Living dangerously.

Imy this time plays the hook shot and it drops a few bounces before square leg.

I've just spoken to one of the umpires who has been out in the middle and he says he thinks Ehsan is actually quicker than Zia. Well there you have it...

Went to hit that over the bowler, instead couldn't quite get under it and it was an easy catch for mid-on.

Loosing both openers is a blessing in disguise , this means that middle order gets a good hit before the quarter finals. :D

by the way genghis, whats your take on qadir? his figures have not been flattering at all, has he been unlucky, or is he just not that good at the moment?

NZ bowling too many wides here, every run is precious, they are defending a smallish total.

Powerplay taken while the spinner off. Bold move.

Saad Ali hits him down the ground for FOUR!

This time 'Jadoo' hits it along the ground past a diving gully for another boundary.
