ICC World Cup 2023: India (201/4) comfortably defeat Australia (199) by 6 wickets

PCT is unpredictable. But don't agree about engine evaluation of Tal's games, many of his sacrifices have been found to be dubious by modern engines, of course in his era he could confuse his opponents with such wild play. Carlsen once said that among former world champions, Tal would be the easiest for him to beat.
Agreed but still the best chess match of PCT.

Test cricket at its best...new ball swinging, old ball spinning, couple of slips, batsman looking to survive.

Australian pacers are reminding me just how big of a miss Naseem is to Pakistan in this World Cup.
Not much - trust me. Cricket still is an 80% mental game.

Defending 200, he would have started with a mindset of beating Shoaib’s speed gun record. Aussies have made Indians play almost every ball with occasional one wide, but on fuller length.

India need some runs in the pp otherwise it will become even hard to chase it down as spin will be it more difficult to bat against

Kohli is trying everything to give wicket here.
Oh. What a shot

@Indian Fans - I am happy that we are getting a tough game in very first match itself. In most recent ICC tournaments we cruise to knockouts and then get games this these.

This hard game at the very beginning of the tournament will do world of good to the team. So don't lose hope.
Yes only positive but we need to first win some game otherwise we are not Going in semifinals

If ever there was a time for tuk tuk for klrahul this is the time lol! All the time in the world to tuk tuk away to 200.

First I thought Aussies playing very slow but they were doing it right. The pitch was not a batting friendly so instead of hitting big shots they tried to stay and play as long as they could and consequently they put up some runs on board. Just imagine if it was Pakistan, they might have bowled out in 30 overs and end up scoring only 150. Now Australia have a very good chance of winning this match. So lesson for us is to play according to conditions.

Rohit is a very overrated stat padder. Check his ko record since 2011

Indian batsmen are flat track bullies.. I tried of tell you
Most modern day batsmen are indeed the same. Indian batsmen's case is even more exemplified because they are so good in flat tracks that when they fail miserably in difficult pitches they get exposed even more badly.

Prob

Problem is unlike Aussies for whom these indian conditions are like a second home due to ipl, it's still very foreign to us Pakistanis. We don't play ipl

Dropped...how can he drop that catch?

Hope Kohli don't throw his wicket next ball like he did in CT Final

Another overrated stat padded kohli. Can never perform in Important games against full strength attacks haha. Check his ko record post 2011 too

Marsh having a stinker.

Simple catch put down.

Still think 200 was 50 runs short no matter how India is batting. Rrr is 4 or so - just need to bat sensibly and all it needs is 1 good partnership for India. Kohli getting a life now maybe is the luck that India needs!!
