ICC World Cup 2023: India (274/6) defeat New Zealand (273 all out) by 4 wickets

Everyone was trolling about Rauf’s century being on, seems Kuldeep’s century could be on today!
Kuldeep has been way better than rauf. he looks like picking a wicket once in a while while Rauf went for 60 in his first 4 overs.

As I type another catch goes down.

Looks like Indian fielders have been watching too many Pakistan matches. Brutal stuff.

When was the last time Indian fielding was this bad? It must’ve been years ago?? Are they truly just terrified of playing New Zealand? I don’t understand

Yea I am going to have to say indian aren't favourites after this.

Nz are chokers too.

So perhaps aus again to win it.

Dont know what adjectives to use to describe the fielding so far. You cannot win the WC with such performance.

Also surprised they didn’t give a couple Bumrah overs like they did against Pakistan to see if he can induce a collapse

The team should be made to run 20 rounds around the ground for the fielding effort today, with the fielding coach running 10 times, himself. What a bunch of pathetic dumbheads.

Would be hilarious if India peaked too early and up getting hammered by England and South Africa lmao

Should have been stopped that four.. poor fielding once again by Bumrah..

Feeble attempt by Bumrah to prevent that.

If the outfield isn't fit for play, why use the ground?

They were so timid.. that they had almost the exact same score that New Zealand had by the 30th over before the collapse happened.
There is a difference of opinion. I was watching a different match

Because Anurag Thakur the sports minister wanted to have his home venue as one of venues for the WC.

Let's wait till both sides have batted. NZ are not 300/2 after 32 overs lol. They're still 167/2.
It's funny though how much mental side of things can affect the game though. People just don't realize it. Until this game they had almost no drops. Now 4 in one game. 3 or 4.

Fair enough, we can agree to disagree. I will say, Pakistani batsmen should be watching to see the proper way to hit spinners.

I do think that whilst they batted well, they did allow pressure to build on themselves which transferred to the incoming batters.

That said, it wasn't as bad as everyone made out. The new batters bad a platform to work with - they were also responsible for falling apart.
Yeah the issue I have is that the players who scored runs got blamed but none of the blame is going to the middle order who actually collapsed terribly

No need to dive to stop that four actually.. little bent or use of feet could stop that four..

The way NZ batters hitting sixes, the ground is small, there will b feast of sixes when India bats…

Watching Indian openers hitting sixes in PP will be an horror show for Pak fans

No lie this is the kind of pitch Williamson would’ve been brilliant on

He didn't bowl terribly. One of those days for Kuldeep. Dharamsala is always a seamer friendly wicket mostly. This one is not a friend for anyone. Probably finger spinners like Ashwin

That's your day time job. Not mine. Just speaking the truth. He cowers when attacked. Seen it too many times.
Lol, too many times. Even then he is one of the best bowlers in World.

Nah. Pak conspiracy theorists speculating that India throwing the game to eliminate Pak 🤣
LOL....
India are the only side that does not play two matches in the same city, including the warm up games before WC started.

In 2021 T20 WC just the 45 min to 1 hr travel by bus from dubai to Sharjah was so taxing that the locals here made a song and dance about ICC = BCCI.
If a particular team had to do the amount of traveling we are doing. :ua

Today, Kiwis were 150/2 after 30’1 …. That day PAK was 155/2 after 29’3 - no analysis, criticism today?

The biggest fun for me that day was that Indian players were trolling PAK players for their “lack of intent” …. & here in PP some people took that seriously - lots of analysis, references, name calling …. emotional out burst - though I was never convinced how, “not showing intent”, between over number 20 to 30 can justify 8 for 36 from a position of 155/2 of 29’3.

May be after so many years in this game, time for me to take a fresh lesson - Fundamentals of ODI game 101

He is good don't get me wrong. But I have seen it happen many times where he goes into a shell when attack. In ipl too.

I agree. But I think they have lost it mentally not because it's NZ though. It started with Jadeja's mediocrity in the field followed by how the NZ batsmen attacked them. This is the first time their middle over bowling is targetted (which I fully expected with NZ as they're good players of spin on non spinning pitches, other teams give too much respect to spin even on non turning pitches).

Attacking our middle over bowling is the key for opposition. But it can't be done on every surface and every ground. This ground is small with no turn and NZ have batting depth which ensures they can play the way they can.

IPL doesn't matter, just Mickey mouse cricket, nothing else, international cricket trumps every other form

Mitchell’s intent is messing up the Indian bowlers.

So guys when we were criticising Babar and Rizwan, it wasn’t because we are agenda haters. It makes a difference.

And no, it’s not about similarity of scores etc so don’t quote me any silly stats. Learn the nuance.
