This batting lineup is mince, can't understand how Babar expected to win WC with such a feeble and pathetic lineup.

Everyone knows Iftikhar can't play spin so was he brought in so early.

He can't rotate and can't play spin..

Babar can't even launch into a free hit to bring his 50 up..says it all
 
everyone was expecting this.. there was no point in sending ifti.. we are digging hole for ourselves.. almost done and dusted this game.. a miracle can only save this game for pakistan..
 
Well played chacha ,When you know when you are against a Fierce rival play fire with fire atleast you have chance to win rather playing timid surrendering 100|100 times.
 
South Africa are probably slightly ahead at this stage.

Pakistan - 132/4 (25.2 overs).
 
If rabada played he would have made keema out of us even more. Lucky.

Babar commits offside too much and too early when hitting big shot, allowing bowler to adjust his line.

Wrong, Pakistan are getting out trying to hit.

Then they lose wickets then suck all the momentum out of the innings.

The approach is all wrong. If they play their natural games they’ll do alright.

If you try and turn them into a 400+ side you’ll find out that they don’t have the ability.
 
The only little chance we have is crawl to 250 odd and hope the Saffers ability to self destruct and doubt their own abilities kicks in like against the Dutch...
 
Ifti was right to attack on very first ball of the over, that's how you put pressure and push them back, unfortunately couldn't executed. Saud needs to attack as well. That's only way we'll be surviving, as it's do & die.
 
So much support for Babar in Chennai yet he bats exactly like a minnow batsman would. Happy with 100 in 125 ball in a WC match without any impact
 
This team just looks dejected, demotivated, no fire or fight in their eyes…. Looks like they just want to get this nightmare of a tournament over and done with

Agreed.

I'd like us to be a smashing 400+ team but we aren't. In an important game, do what works with the bat and bowl better. Bowling has killed us. We've put up 3 scores in excess of 280 (300+).

Bring on Zimbabwe, WI, SL and Nepal.

See them scoring 300+ and chasing 350.
 
Pakistan just doesnt have ODI players in this team tbh except for rizwan,babar and shaheen.Rest are all test players or T20 players

It was an awful decision to bring him up the order especially on a slow wicket. He's hopeless against spin.

His role in the team is to play as a lower order hitter who can bowl 5-7 overs of off-spin. He shouldn't be coming in before 6.

Saud should be coming at 4 with Rizwan at 5.
 
The major problem with Pakistan batting is it's gameplay... Compare this to the other 9 teams in this world cup, it seems like they don't even know how to play, let alone execute anything on the ground.

I am worried we'll not play entire quota of overs. Not concerned about Babar's strike rate in such a fragile lineup
 
Pak team can't wait to get off the field to attend another dinner or a birthday

Yeah but they are losing wickets because there is pressure to hit big. If you keep rotating the strike, you can go without the big hits as the run rate is not falling back.

Too many dots kills both momentum and puts batters under pressure
 
Seriously even Bangladesh have better Batsman than Pakistan why they don't groom batsman ,Fast bowling fast bowling all the time ,This fast bowling culture also responsible for mediocre Batsman one after another and it's not like fast Bowlers are also good at test level
 
Saud was very comfortable in his first few matches, now because of all the drama created by media and ex-cricketers have pushed everyone on the backfoot, saving their places.

What test playerd lol. Our bowlers cant bowl 20 overs a day without having heart issues.

Yes.

As long as PAK makes 280+, we have a chance -- faith in SA's ability to self-destruct.

However, the question is, can we get to 280 or above?

Looks unlikely at this stage, unless Saud and Babar go for a century partnership.
 
I wonder what Pakistan's non-existent coaching staff and managers were thinking sending Ifty in...when two spinners are on and Saud is CLEARLY a better batsman against spin and there would be plenty of opportunity for Ifty later on.

Yet when fast bowlers have been operating previously they have sent in Saud.

This is what happens when there is corruption and ineptitude.

Yes that's right. Not much we can do. We don't batting talent like india or power hitters.

Best bet is maybe we can bring in haris, ayub for the future. Again no guarantee they would do any better. Lot of them are poor vs bounce and pace.
