SL are 20 runs short minimum. But it'll be good warm up for them to bowl BD out before

Bangladesh won by 7 wickets with 8 overs to spare. Congratulations to them.
3 fifty plus scores from Liton,Tamim jr. and miraz.

Bangladesh won by 7 wickets (with 48 balls remaining)

Clinical Innings from Tanzid Hasan 84(88), Liton Das 61(56) and Allround innings from Mehdi Hasan Miraz 67(64) lead Bangladesh to 7 wickets victory over Sri Lanka in ICC World Cup 2023 Warm up Match.

BANGLADESH CRUISE TO COMFORTABLE WIN AGAINST SRI LANKA IN WARM-UP FIXTURE

In the day's other warm-up encounter, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat. Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera set the stage ablaze with a blistering start. However, Perera retired hurt in the 10th over and Bangladesh spinners then began weaving a web around the Sri Lankan batters.

Dhananjaya de Silva was the sole Sri Lankan batter to provide some resistance, scoring a gritty 55 off 76 balls. Sri Lanka managed to post a total of 263 runs.

Bangladesh's chase got off to a flying start as openers Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das combined to establish a formidable partnership of 131 runs, both notching up half-centuries along the way.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz entered the fray in the 21st over, steadying the ship further. His unbeaten 67 off 64 balls, along with Mushfiqur Rahim's support, guided Bangladesh to a comfortable victory in just the 42nd over of the chase.

South Africa v Afghanistan: Rain plays spoilsport in Thiruvananthapuram

In the third warm-up encounter, South Africa was slated to take on Afghanistan in Thiruvananthapuram. However, persistent rain forced the match to be abandoned even before the coin toss.

South Africa's next challenge will be against New Zealand in their second warm-up game on October 2nd, while Afghanistan are set to clash with Sri Lanka on October 3rd.

I imagine Butler's the happiest out of the lot because England are the defending champs, no other reason why his smirk is as big as it is.

Fearless ✌️I wish one day Pakistan play like this 🇵🇰

Supporting England
My favorite Ben stokes and Harry brooks 😎

Australia vs Netherlands, 5th Warm-up game:
It has been raining and the covers are all flooded with water. There will be a delay in toss and we might be looking at a washout.

Hoping England team to smash Indian trundlers into oblivion.

Rain has started in the India vs. England warm-up game as well. Seems like both the games today will be delayed now.

Rain is not leaving India since West Indies tour. Is it still monsoon in India or off season showers?

Why keep matches in venues like Guwahati, Trichy and all these below par venues? Its a world cup and should be hosted only in main cities.

Australia vs. Netherlands, 5th Warm-up game: There will be 2nd inspection at 3:30 pm.
India vs England, 4th Warm-up game: An update is expected at 3:15pm local time.

England vs India Match called off. Next warm-up fixture for India is on Tuesday, against Netherlands, in Thiruvananthapuram. Last 2 matches in Thiruvananthapuram are also washed out.

Australia vs Netherlands.

This De Merwe spinner is really good.

Pakistan better watch out.

Ned don't deserve to play in this world cup with their hired goons. WI or Zim should have been here

Some of you in certain threads were considering Netherlands bowling to be weak and get bashed up. They've come through a very rigourous Qualifier and no team in this event can be taken for granted.

:misbah

He's such a veteran. Playing FC and List A Cricket for over 17 years now. I think he could've achieved more success with the ball, despite playing for a low ranked team like the Netherlands.

Maybe this is the time.

And the match has now been officially called off and abandoned due to rain

Australia 166/7 in 23 overs (Steve Smith 55, Cameron Green 34, van der Merwe 2/12)
Netherlands 84/6 in 14.2 overs (Ackermann 31, Edwards 14, Starc 3/18)

Starc has made his presence felt by getting a hatrick in his opening spell. And Australia looked at ease throughout this warm-up match, despite resting some of their main players

Starc takes a hat-trick before rain intervenes

Mitchell Starc took a brilliant hat-trick as Australia’s bowlers flexed their muscles against the Netherlands on another rain-interrupted day of warm-up matches for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

The match in Thiruvananthapuram was reduced to just 23 overs per side because of consistent afternoon rain but Starc was worth the wait as he ripped through the Netherlands’ top order.

Further rain prevented a result, while the day’s other match between India and England was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Magic Mitchell in top form

With 49 wickets in his last two 50-over World Cups, Mitchell Starc knows how to peak at the perfect time for cricket’s biggest event – and it appears he has done so once again.

Chasing 167 to win, the Netherlands hoped for a fast start but Starc had other ideas. Taking the first over, he struck with just his fifth ball by trapping Max O’Dowd LBW for a duck and then bowled Wesley Barresi.

At the beginning of his second over, he completed the hat-trick by again careering into an unsuspecting batter’s stumps – this time Bas de Leede's.

Colin Ackermann’s unbeaten 31 offered some resistance before more rain fell in the 15th over, with the Netherlands 84 for six, and prevented a result.

Earlier, Australia elected to bat and lost opener Josh Inglis in just the second over, but Steve Smith and Alex Carey staged a 57-run partnership before the wicketkeeper was bowled by Roelof van der Merwe for 28.

Smith, who like Starc was a member of Australia’s 2015 World Cup-winning squad, top-scored for Australia with a fluent 55 and was supported by all-rounder Cameron Green (34) and Starc (24).

India v England washed out

Rain arrived just 10 minutes before the first ball was due to be bowled in Guwahati and did not relent, forcing India v England to be abandoned.

England, who start the defence of their title against New Zealand in the tournament’s opening game on Thursday, are due to play Bangladesh on Monday, while India play Netherlands on Tuesday.

Scores in brief

Australia 166/7 v Netherlands 84/6 at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram – No Result

Australia 166/7 in 23 overs (Steve Smith 55, Cameron Green 34; Roelof van der Merwe 2/12, Bas de Leede 2/25) v Netherlands 84/6 (Colin Ackermann 31 not out, Scott Edwards 14; Mitchell Starc 3/18, Sean Abbott 1/10)

India v England at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati – Match Abandoned

Have a look at Starc, dismantling the top order once again. Absolute lethal.

Some more action today - hope weather not an issue

Both games today will be washed out.

Some warm-ups this…
"Quite a few World Cup matches in South India are going to be washed out if the North-East monsoon picks up strongly. (During the North-East monsoon, rain mostly arrives in the afternoons/evenings.)

Bangladesh should increase spinners and should decrease numbers of pacers. They should use 2 pacers in taskin and shorifull and 4 full time spinners + 2 part timers in riyadh and shanto.

BD must be feeling home in Guwahati. The state of Assam has huge amount of Bangladeshi people.

What will be full strength bowling attack for England in main games -

Wood, Topley, Woakes, Curran and Rashid?
