What's new

If PP was a school...

@sweep_shot will be the brother who is straddling the line between being a gangster and living the life of deen. He occasionally has to step in and throw punches but just wants to hit the gym and pray salat.

@JaDed is the guy who is cool with everyone. He is not affialited with any of the gangs or groups and can fit in where required.

@HalBass9 is the civil rights activist.

@uppercut hates most of the students but puts it aside to play cricket

@Rajdeep bhai is the kid who acts overclever in class and who gives it big licks, but is failing most subjects even though his parents are paying for after school tuition.

Lol...I am 35 and too old brother. Most of the things I do or say is simply for fun. In reality, I like all of you guys and thank you for being virtual friends 😁

@cricketjoshila wears saffron shirt and shorts to school every day, the teachers threaten to have him suspended for not following uniform rules, but he intimidates them by stating its his religious obligation. his parents think saffron is the school uniform.

@Saj is the headteacher, but no one sees him apart form assembly, leading to rumours his hearts not in it anymore. some question whether hes considering going into uber driving or maybe becoming a podcast host.

@MenInG would be the schools CEO who once in a while pops in does his inspection with a sooti in hand. That day we all are suppose to behave well. Our teachers (mods) also being vigilant :p

@emranabbas would be the class troll, rilling up the indian class mates and the pti fans. Everyday after class their is a gang waiting for him outside to beat him up, but he dodges them everyday.

@DeadlyVenom is the cool guy of the class. Someone you would wana hang out with.

@Mamoon the guy who wins every debate, who you cant beat in an argument.

@mominsaigol the rich kid who once in a while treats us to snacks.

@Rana would be the angry kid who wouldnt talk to you just because you didnt share a pencil or disagreed with him once.

i like that lol

@The Bald Eagle is hall monitor of the school but if you are cool with him he lets some of the kids sneak to the back and smoke cigarettes. If he doesn't like you he writes you up.
Hate to admit it but it's true to some extent bro

Seeing dhoni183 here brought tears. He will be always the dude who was loved by all. I miss him here.

May he rest in peace.

While I understand and appreciate that this is a Pakistani forum, I remember the old days where there were a bunch of us posting from Australia, New Zealand and England. We used to have great banter over the Poms getting their next stuffing.

What happened? Have the old posters packed up for good?

I suppose it has.

Members got old, busy with their lives. Not to mention forums as a niche site is dying when you compare it to other platforms like social media where new gen is amassed.

Haven't seen Robert in a long time.

Had left the forum myself as well because if I remember, there was a post from @MenInG that PP was shutting down. It was pretty gut wrenching to read that and then one day just clicked on an old link and the website was again alive.

I think I remember you OP as a poster so it's good to see that you are still posting stuff.

But how is it that we're in the midst of an Ashes series and I can't see a peep by an Aussie or a Pom?

Surely there is at least one of them?

The only regular England fan i remember on here is @James, no idea what happened to him. The britpak posters chased @Robert out of here sadly.

Amongst aussies, there was OZGOD, RandomAussie, Convict and Gilly. No idea what happened to them either. Maybe CoviD took them away.

Robert left because he thought discussions were getting too heated. Look up his last posts. LOL.

This is a new era of PP. Most old users are gone. Even Saj doesn't post here anymore (he last logged in here in August).

Some cricketing reasons:

1) the cricket has not been competitive this series or whenever Eng visit Aus. If it were closer maybe some more Aus and Eng fans would have showed up to dish out some banter

2) pak have lost much of their x-factor which made some Aus/NZ/SA etc folks like pak cricket in the past. SENA fans probably aren’t interested in pak cricket much anymore and don’t find pak worthy/formidable opponents

3) pak cricket has pigeonholed itself into pak-india context. pp too has become india-centric and I guess the rest of the world would find the constant bickering boring.

#1 is a very good point.

This Ashes series has been massively one-sided. It is heading toward a 5-0 scorecard.

ok, all he ever did was complain and have arguments with everyone

He went through different phases.

Phase 1: He was pro-India and was constantly bashing Pakistan.
Phase 2: Complete u-turn. Became pro-Pakistan and anti-India.
Phase 3: Pro-India again.

It was possible he was trolling. He was changing sides a lot. :yk

One of the biggest reasons I wish (fantasize I guess) this forum somehow only had users of Pakistani origins and none else. Prefer not to be trolled by Indians or Sri Lankans or Bangladeshis or whatever else. Pointless distractions from nations unrelated or we quit them or they quit us. The quality of posts would have been much higher and more constructive if the cricket and non-cricket conversations only involved Pakistani origin people. So many discussion issues unique to us that we want to relate to and converse.

But it is impossible to check and filter for the origins of forum posters, hence my mentioning this as a fantasy rather than a wish.

I think it’s more fun to hear from people from all over the world so disagree with that.

Quality of posts has gone down because cricket section is fully derailed. Very few people talk about pak domestic. Whereas performances in T20 leagues, even the most obscure ones, are discussed.

TP has become fully political. Seen by what sort of threads earlier users created vs what’s being discussed now.

I am on PP since 2009. So, I have witnessed different eras here.

2009-2016: This was the period where OGs were posting. It was also the period when Pakistan had an exciting team including big players like Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi etc. There was a huge interest in Pakistani cricket.

2016-2023: This was a transition period. Some of the OGs have left while other OGs were still posting. There was still a balance between OGs and newcomers.

2023-Present: This is the current era. 90% of the OGs have left. Lots of newcomers like @rickroll and many more Indian posters now. Lots of Gen Z posters now as well. It is a different era of PP.

Ideally this would be great if there are quality posters but this is not ideal. In real world scenario we are stuck with trolls and biased political posts which then cause the quality of posts to be watered down. Given the reality of the situation we are facing the choice of either diverse troll biased posts or intrinsic Pakistani origin posts (good and bad quality) without external distractions. I would say the later is more preferable than the former.

I went through some of the active threads, and I see what you mean. Ind posters are actively derailing threads. Very few of them add anything worthwhile to the discussion. They are feasting on tragedies actually with their bs point scoring.

Ind posters aren’t homogenous either. However, most of the active lot generally fit one demographic i.e., mildly educated right-wing dudes. Still I prefer meaningful engagement over blanket bans. Some diversity of opinions within their ranks would be nice to see.

Makes for bittersweet reading. I hold many cherished memories of PP, but have moved on. Hope everyone is well. :)

I agree in principle and have said the same. But good luck with that, I have never come across any Pakistani media site which is not infested with Indian trolls unless they are banned. But they provide a lot of traffic so I can understand why they are tolerated.

Never seen Sri Lankans or Bangladeshis trolling much though so I feel it is unfair to put them in the same bracket. Those guys seem to mind their own business for the most part. Much respect for them.
