What's new

India (111/2) hammer New Zealand by 8 wickets to win the 2nd ODI - Seal series by 2-0 margin

4 down lol.

Bracewell and Phillips going to have to be special to get to 200 here.

Well NZ top order isn't up to much. Hope Phillips, Latham and Bracewell can bring some excitement to this game

This pitch is tough to bat on, problem is we don't have the bowlers to make use of it.

200 could have been a decent game with a decent bowling line up, but no front line strike bowlers.

Even if we get a decent score.

Shipley, Tickner and Lockie aren't going to defend it.

lol, Kiwis play on these pitches all their career and still can't negotiate the swing!

The crowd is literally cheering the boundaries now, they don't want to go home so early 😂

First game at the ground, any idea on the pitch? Is the ball going to stop moving?

If not, only a matter of time before these two go. Best hope to get to 200 is these two batting deep and that relies on the pitch flattening and the ball doing nothing.

Tbh need to see more of these kinds of pitches for variety.

The pitch isn't as bad as we've made it out to be. With application and batsmenship you could be 70-80 for 1 or 2 down after 20.

Whatever, we'll see what happens in the WC.

You cherish these JAMODI series wins, it's all you'll have to comfort you when you inevitably fall short again.

Generally, that's a comeback when a team has atleast 1 WC. ROFLMAO

What a cracker of a catch!

Hardik rox, he always gets a way to contribute....

& now Lord Shardul takes TL ....half the side in the hut in the PP...

Where's the AMAN 'its another meanlingless bilateral series and it doesnt matter as long as we dont win' Dude...

Was pretty big on commenting on the astonished look of the indian players in the last game, considering the record is 55/50 in our favor-u'd think u'd seen plenty of such looks in your time...

It is a JAMODI lol? It's not that deep.

True, and agreed 100 pc-wish we'd make more pitches where somethiogn in it for all types of bowlers

Proper test for Phillips and Bracewell.

Not expecting much from the rest here.

Would want the movement to stay throughout but I have no hope in our bowling attack to defend anything.

Phillips and Bracewell basically need to be perfect to get to 200 lol.

Realistically we're getting shot out for less than 80.

Not just the movement, the batsmen haven't been able to pick up the pace or bounce in the pitch.

Huge partnership this for NZ - this goes and it's 50 AO

Can understand why Rohit was unsure of what to do at the toss.

Have to credit the Indian bowlers, don't think our bowlers would have exploited these conditions anywhere as well.

What would be a good score to defend on here with a decent attack? 220-240?

NZ bowlers (1st choice or 2nd choice doesn't matter) are not good enough to bowl in India. Southee and Boult are poor in India, Lockie has been terrible off late - averaging 41 over his last 20 games and unless Jamieson improves on comeback, I foresee a dark era for NZ fast bowling.

Nice place Raipur, been there. But first look @ stadium and must say am impressed -quite big dimensions....and not surprisingly - full house -always good to have!

Pandya has the knack of picking important wickets.

Pandya is nothing cricketer most of the times when he comes to bowling get humiliated, Neither can't bat nor can bowl well, Complete garbage why Bcci Made him captain I can't get

Have the same energy for the WC brother.

Yeah, the pitch is a bit two paced and batsmen don't look comfortable.

Odd ball jumps up and leaps off a length.

Testing conditions.

Yadav gotta be the first choice spinner for India.

Think he'll do well against everyone except England and maybe Australia, those teams will likely attack him and put him off his lines and lengths.

Must say at times i felt Adam milne was the natural successor to someone like shane bond. His sheer pace wold have lent a different dimension to the overall attack. But i just feel he was not hungry enough to make a mark in test cricket. I feel lockie fergie is the same, just content to play the white ball stuff and pick up the cheques.Jamieson and his newness and novelty gave them the 2020 series and the Wtc finals on the 6th day in familiar conditions. With Southee nearer to the end and Boult not interested in the Black Caps, yep unless they have a massive influx of new young talent, they are going to be the next easy beats

Everyone except selectors understand this. :inti

Lol so much chest-thumping about WC, any uninformed person reading it would think they are absolute world beaters and champions. All NZ can do is beating india at the WC, never won the WC & probably never will. Can proudly brag about beating india though, but that is all.

Not the first time Indian swing bowling wreaked havoc in recent times. England 68/8 at the oval, SA 8/5 at Trivandrum, SA 99 all out, SL 73 all out., SA 49/5 at perth, Now this. Imagine Arshdeep/Bhuvi/Bhumra here. They are the most potent bowling unit in swinging conditions. But white ball doesn't swing after a few overs. India has a massive issue with closing out the innings. So i expect NZ to fight back as usual.

Milne doesn't offer much but bowls a heavy ball, also really injury prone. Tests are out of the question..

Lockie has been a gun for us but hasn't been anywhere near the same beast since returning from injury. He was our enforcer and now he's just another bowler he goes through the motions, has the odd game where he gets tonked and takes 1-2 wickets mostly from the batsmen's mistakes.

NZ played 2 day match not one dayers in 2019. They really got lucky match went into next day with fresh conditions. Same way in 2021 teams batting first lost all the matches. They are not that good a side. Just getting lucky against India with toss.

They can brag about WC victories over India just like Indian fans brag about WC against Pakistan. What's the issue? :inti

Got carried away.

Just Phillips left to watch then going to watch some anime.

Philips has to counter attack. This is not the best bowling unit to use swing bar Siraj. Bhuvi/Arshdeep/Chahar/Bumrah are way more dangerous than this bowling unit in swinging conditions. These are mostly hit the deck bowlers except Siraj.

Nah, going for it hasn't gotten this them in this hole. Better off batting till the 45th and hitting out.

Please yaaar....We've moved on from Sir Bhuvi Sobers Hadlee Steyn Legend. One of the abiding nightmares is Sir bhuvi bounding in and bowling 120kmh nothings. its a mystery as to how did dude play so many matches for us when he's not make any top 5 international side. No pace, no bounce and on pitches / conditions with no swing he was halwa....

Didn't watch the match until now. Let me catch the rest. Late in the night. After seeing NZ bat went back to bed :) Then i checked against 28/5 went back. Now 6 down. Let me help NZ by watching the rest of t he match.

True. He survived because he is economy kumar in the power play lol That is the only reason. Otherwise totally useless.

The only thing for certain is that NZ and SA are not going to win Aman It's going to end in tears for both sets of fans. Just a question of when :)

Who said they can't? The only tiny difference here is india actually has won the world cup, unlike nz. Zero bilateral series wins in india, zero world cup wins. Beat india in an odd game in WC, feel happy and go back home.

No one expects us to win, we're happy with the team overachieving. Took the WC final to a draw in regulation and the super over and then lost the WC on some bogus rule.

Really happy with the playing conditions today. Good sized boundaries, seaming pitch. Indian batsmen will find it tough too.

We have been carrying so many passengers and still this ..

Imagine India being 15/5. 36 AO would have been under threat. Bowlers should know how to stick around with the bat atleast. As important as batsman being a part time bowler.
