India (120/3) register a 7-wicket win over South Africa (117) in 3rd T20I at HPCA Stadium

I think SA has enough total to rattle India. They have 5 fast bowlers. SOme of them out and out quick. India is one batsman light as well. Two walking wickets. High risk Sharma

Certain pitches in India have a lot of seam and bounce depending on the time of the year.

Brainless scheduling to have a match in Dharamshala with temperature at 7 degree and expected to get colder.
You're right, not sure why I didn't think about that. Must be freezing there. Not ideal conditions to play cricket at all, especially a night match

This is not a T20 knock. No attempt for big hits. Just carefully surviving and stroking slot balls.
Yes, but he will likely end up with a good score at a good SR, which strengthens his case for a spot at the top. Eventhough it is a zero pressure knock in a modest chase

India has been better team in this series. SA have done well in white ball but India had edge and results show that.

It's tough for me to appreciate T20 specialists but I'm coming to increasingly admire Tilak Verma's game. It's so compact, suited to the circumstances and functional.

Feels like when I was so critical of Dhoni's unorthodox game when he debuted and he forced me to change my mind.

He seems like someone who could be a really good ODI batter too

Yes I think he'd be pretty suited. He's not pretty... especially with all those angular shots and his unconventional technique. But he's functional and very conscious of the match situation. He's not unwilling to take risks when he has to but hates taking them when he doesn't. And it's always a calculated risk

Gill is a good for nothing player. Except dominating on flat tracks in England in that series, he has done nothing worth raving highly for.

Surya seems to be done. It pains me to say it. I've watched him since he was a steady middle-order batter for Mumbai. I would've never marked him for superstardom and truly admire how he's reinvented himself and reached the ultimate level - Indian captaincy.

He's done some incredible stuff over the years but Father time comes for everyone. He's now here for Surya

Good points and agree fully.

He peaked too late so his time at the top was always going to be short. Still the way his form has nosedived has been very disappointing.

Yeah it's the problem of a highly coached nation like India. He was pigeonholed into something he wasn't - a steady first class player. What he truly was - as we discovered very late was a weird misfit T20 360 degree player.

The IPL wasn't available then to uncover him. Now we find all these oddities and actually try them - Sanju, Tilak even Abhisek though he's a bit more conventional.

It's time to move on from Surya though. We've extracted all the possible juice out of him.

Suryakumar Yadav, India captain on personal lack of form: I've been batting beautifully in the nets. When the runs have to come, they'll come.
Not out of form, definitely out of runs.
What a fraud!

The purpose of bringing Shubman Gill in the team was to keep a replacement captain in case SKY doesn't return to his form.. unfortunately both captain and vice captain are out of form and I feel it is late although not impossible to replace them at this moment..SKY i still feel is not out of juice, just the Juicer mixer is stuck due to captaincy overload...

Why is SENA so good at catching.
Because their coaching structures are far more systematic from a very young age. Players are drilled in fundamentals and overall athleticism long before specialising as batters or bowlers. We've traditionally leaned too heavily on 'natural talent,' without the same depth of grassroots structure. India has ofcourse changed this over the past couple of decades, but deep-rooted cultural shifts still take time to fully settle.

Stupendous end to the series from India with some emphatic victories with the t20 world cup around the corner.

Someone tell @saimayubera it's safe to come out now.

In cool, seam-friendly conditions at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, India eased past South Africa with a seven-wicket victory in the third T20I on Sunday, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

South Africa were bundled out for just 117 as India’s bowlers combined superbly. Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav claimed two wickets each, while Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube chipped in with one apiece. Reduced to 30/4 inside seven overs, the visitors never recovered.

India’s chase of 118 was set up by Abhishek Sharma’s blistering 35 off 18 balls in the powerplay. Shubman Gill (28) and Tilak Varma (25*), though scratchy, kept the scoreboard ticking, while Suryakumar Yadav managed 12 before falling. With Abhishek’s early fireworks ensuring the asking rate was under control, Dube (10*), with clean hitting at the end, sealed the win with 25 balls to spare.

Abhishek launched India’s reply in style, dismantling Lungi Ngidi in the opening over with a six, a flicked four, and a lofted cover drive. He added three more boundaries before Aiden Markram’s sharp running catch at long-off ended his stay, but India were already well ahead.

Gill survived an LBW scare against Marco Jansen and struck boundaries off him and Ottniel Baartman, while Tilak Varma, promoted to number three, opened with a steer to third man off Corbin Bosch and added runs through edges and clips.

Gill’s scratchy innings ended in the 12th over when he chopped on against Jansen. Suryakumar briefly lit up the chase with back-to-back boundaries off Ngidi – a lofted drive over long-off followed by a pull over midwicket – but perished attempting his trademark flick over fine leg.

Dube then finished matters in emphatic fashion, smashing Baartman for an 80-metre six over long-on and pulling a short ball through midwicket for four, sealing a dominant Indian win.
