If u see the trend of this WC, its either run fest or famine - either 320+ or between 100-200....have'nt seen any middling 260-276's....what that tells u is either the pitches are sooper flat or spicy with swing and seam , conditions keep changing....if this is the trend....the team for all conditions , variety in their bowling, guys who can take the sharp singles and not only power hit, the all rounders will prevail...not to speak of superior fielding units and fitness levels for a long format...however, early days yet....

Let me clarify few things. Afghanistan during world cup qualifiers lost 3 straight matches including Hong Kong, Scotland and Zimbabwe. They managed to win only 1 game in 1st round and had to wait for Hong Kong v Nepal match to go in their favor to proceed further. In 2nd round they had to wait for UAE v Zimbabwe match to go in their favor in order to qualify.
Zimbabwe really messed it up against UAE in last match. Otherwise this Afghanistan team would have never qualified. Their solitary Test match against India ended in 2 days. Problem is Zimbabwe and Ireland are not improving either. That is where Afghanistan is taking advantage.
