India (237/3) beat South Africa (221/3) by 16 runs in the 2nd T20I in Guwahati

No target is safe with this bowling attack. India should always go for 250 when batting first to be on the safe side.
These amazing bowlers would have lost it if it wasn't for chahar's economic 4 overs!

Anyway, it was still an impressive win when you consider the fact that it got even harder to bowl I the 2nd innings here. Ball was coming on beautifully.

Well done, team India :inti

Just goes to show that Indian team would have won in Asia Cup also had they scored above 200. Indian bowlers are not comfortable in defending a target of below 200 these days. Toss played no part in it obviously. :kp :inti

No. Toss is a bigger factor in Dubai than most other venues

This is why blaming the toss for our poor performance in Asia Cup was nothing more than an excuse to cover up our pathetic bowling and average batting. :inti

No shame in losing like this, SA fought hard. Unlike the embarrassing display from Pak batting today.

obviously the dubai stadium's recent record show that exactly. and obviously that is why all captains who won the toss there didn't have a clear preference to field or bat first.

So you believe toss didn't give any advantage to any team in Dubai?

That average batting scored 180 against a quality Pakistan attack. What more do you want? Or are you saying Pakistan fielded their worst attack and India should have scored 200+? Pretty sure India would have chased any totals down there.

There's a reason why chasing team won last 19 out of 20 matches there. But you won't see that because your favourite team won that match so no problem.

IND definitely has death bowling issues but it is hilarious how people compare matches at different stadium's and completely ignore the stats of that stadium to push their agenda. Also lovely to see mandatory whining posts on pant. if we also get that remaining whining post on IPL, this thread will be complete.

India obviously bowled poorly in that match and against Sri Lanka too. Watch the final of Asia Cup to gain more knowledge about this issue.

Regarding India chasing a total there against Pakistan. We saw how easily we chased a target of 148 against Pakistan. And I have nothing to say about your favorite team Hong Kong here. :91: :inti

That tournament wasn't played ages ago. This is almost the same bowling attack. Stadiums have changed but issues remain the same. Grow up and learn to take criticism of Indian team like a man. No need to get hurt and cry like a baby here. :inti

India beat South Africa by 16 runs in a high-scoring T20I in Guwahati to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.

India ensured their first-ever bilateral series win at home over South Africa with a victory in Guwahati in the second T20I of the three-match series. In the previous three series played in India, South Africa had come out on top once (2015) while the remaining two series were drawn (2019, 2022).

Put in to bat, India got off to a fabulous start with the openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul putting on 96 in less than 10 overs. Virat Kohli came out with good intent too, but it was Suryakumar who once again changed the entire complexion of the match.

Yadav completed an 18-ball half-century, the joint-second-fastest for India in the format to push India in the middle and end overs. Yuvraj Singh still holds the record for his 12-ball fifty in the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. Yadav equalled KL Rahul's feat to get to a brilliant fifty.

Yadav also created another record during his knock, getting to 1000 T20I runs and becoming the quickest (in terms of balls faced) to the landmark. Glenn Maxwell had held the record for getting there in 604 balls, but Yadav easily surpassed that, making the feat off his 573rd ball in T20Is.

The partnership between Kohli and Yadav (102 in 42 balls) was also India's quickest stand of 100 runs or more in this format.

India put on 237/3 batting first, their fourth-highest T20I total, a massive 141 runs coming in the last 10 overs. This was also the highest T20I total made against South Africa in T20Is.

In response, South Africa were reduced to 5/2 after Arshdeep Singh took two wickets in his first over, but Quinton de Kock and David Miller rebuilt with a century stand that gave South Africa a distant chance of scaling the target down.

Miller completed his second T20I ton off just 46 balls, but in the end, the target was too high for South Africa to chase down. The unbeaten 174-run stand between Miller and de Kock is now the highest for the fourth wicket or lower in T20Is.

I smell a Pant masterclass today :inti

Masterclass indeed. :inti

India seem to defeat everyone during bilateral T20 games. But, they lose the plot during big tournaments (World T20, Asia Cup etc.).

India = new South Africa.

India was bad in limited over games about two years ago due to a lack of quality middle order . The bilateral s we won cos openers were doing bulk of scoring .

Currently the middle order with Kohli , sky , pandya , dk and emphasis on bowlers who can bat at 7,8,9 - axar , ashwin , patel , bhuvi , chahar makes this a v v dangerous batting side .

Bowling is still an issue but slowly india is checking certain things off - Arshdeep , Harshal , axar , ashwin , yuzwal and bumrah / Shami with pandya as backup / 6 th bowler is a decent attack .

All india has to do is get bhuvi kumar out and chahar in . You will see a huge change in fortunes .

India was never favorites in the last world T20. Even in 2019 world cup England was the favorite. South Africa lost when they were favorites.

Our bowling is bad without Bumrah. We will at the max reach semis in WC

Eng/ WI will win the trophy.

SA has the ingredients to win the world T20. But they will flunk somewhere. Good pace attack, good spin attack, Good batting depth. With Bavuma they ain't winning anything.

Didn't watch match yesterday, that means real bad last ten overs by india?

Miller had a crazy night. India took the foot off the pedal when the required rate hit 30 in the last 2 overs. They were going through motions assuming SA will surrender. Last 2 overs yielded 46 runs. wides, no balls.
