What's new

India [245/3] beat New Zealand [243] by 7 wickets in the third ODI, lead series 3-0

We're getting out to nothing balls here.

Not sure what is going on, it's as if the batsmen have forgotten how to bat this series.

Subtle changes of length and pace. For example Nichols had no other option. He didnt want to leave the ball. Latham was beaten in the flight. Kane got out to a stunning catch

Can't see the same performance in the WC.

Writing this off as bad form, none of our batsmen have looked good and have gotten out to innocuous balls trying to force the pace.

India has managed to choke the runrate in death overs by taking wickets. Amazing stuff. Hard to believe this match is in New Zealand, where 300 is considered a small total.

I think Guptill is key. He is out of sorts. Kane has been unlucky. Ross can't carry the team always

Your batting will be fine come world cup but who is going to pick wickets in that bowling unit of yours, they have been poor against India, routinely conceded 300 against SL.

Taylor is carrying us atm.

Guptill's form is worrying, outside his return match he has struggled since returning.

Need him to get it together before the WC.

It is impossible to judge after one and half match but I think Bracewell has a better game against spinners, NZ probably missed a trick by not promoting him up.

No wonder Taylor is only second to Kohli in ODIs. Carried the batting by himself so many times for NZ.

Taylor is covering for all the inconsistent batting performance of others. He himself couldn't get going. But he hung around.

Excellent comeback from Pandya. 10-0-45-2 and THAT Catch!!!

Heartbreaking for Taylor. Missed out on a well deserved hundred. Easily 2x better than any other batsman in his team.

Instead of finding fault with NZ bats, people should learn to appreciate Indian bowlers as these were same bats on same pitches who were hitting SL bowlers into oblivion.

Shock!! India and bowling?? People can't still believe it

4 catches for Karthik. If you add the one that evaded him once.. New zealanders are edging a lot to the keeper. Shami always has some movement of sort to catch the edge.

Well, they should start associating India with bowling as well. Barring some exceptions, this Indian bowling lineup will give scares to almost any batting lineup in world cricket atm.

New Zealand batting powerhouse is up against a smart bowling line up. THen they don't have their leader Bumrah here as well.

Well said. It's a smart bowling unit. They dont over attack or over defend.

Shami is bowling a lot of slower balls compared to last time he was in the team. Bowling coach should be credited

India was absolutley dominating in 2003 world cup until the final where they were unable to bowl on the flattest road .
Yeah, Aus has been responsible for ending many our dreams in WCs. I can remember, WC '99, '03, '15. We also ended their WC dreams in WC '11.

2003/2015 reason India didn't bat first. When you play on a pitch that is absolutely flat offer nothing to bowlers you bat first.

Friggin tailenders from every team can hit a ball or two only ours are pure duds!!

Did we win toss in WC '15 SF? If yes, absolutely unpardonable from Dhoni.

I think they won the toss. In crucial matches you bat first. No matter how good you are a chasing side batting first is like winning half the game.

Bracewell Gone. Thats another 6 to 10 runs saved. Boult can smash sixers though

Yeah.

One of the major reasons why we lost CT '17 final as well.

We were thinking that we'll have to chase 320-odd and here NZ are struggling to reach 250!

Well bowled by all our bowlers!

However not sure whether we'd have won WC'03 had we batted first. But surely, would've competed better against that ATG Aus team!

Pathetic batting again, these are nothing balls our players are hitting straight up.

Should have batted out the overs.
