I think the team batting at the start of each session can decide which type of roller to use before the start.so if we play for even 1 or 2 overs after tea ,we should opt for heavy roller( assuming we will declare by 300 at this 10 run rate)

Wicket is ultra flat bro. Our jokers cant bat even on ultra highway, most of them lack game sense despite over a decade plus of cricket experience. Needing to take time out of the game instead they attack and get out. Two seniors have been shocking this series.

That's a good point. We'll have to push the limit. Bit of strategic running on the pitch, using the heavy roller etc.

Not necessarily. We may have to bat again. It's a big risk. Rohit only used light rollers when Bazball came.

I doubt it'll change for this series.

This is a normal Indian pitch and hasn't had enough time to deteriorate I think.

Okay but I wouldn't rule out an India win still. Once you're mentally in that state of mind of trying to save a test after the other team has just delivered some shock and awe, things can get out of hand quickly. Believe me, I have seen Pakistan lose plenty of matches in one session in just the last few years, where the pitch had little to no demons.

And Bangladesh is prone to the same bouts of mental disintegration that Pakistan is.

I'm aware wicket is ultra flat but their trying to force a result unlike pakistan when they prepared an ultra flat pitch against England but still lost because England forced a result.

India's intent is very good and it's this intent that's lacking in other Asian teams excluding Afghanistan and India atm

We don't have time so better to take a risk as even bng will be scared to loose a match in 2 days. they will not dare to score freely against spin.They will have their mind on embarassing clean sweep after victory in pak ,return journey and first innings collapse.

It is for maintaining left/right combo. But either way I would even send Ashwin ahead of Kohli. Kohli is never going to show intent. If he does he will immediately get out.

Sri Lanka are showing a lot of intent too. Nissanka in England recently ? Kamindu and Kusal last Test ?

Basically you need skill to match that intent.

Pakistan seems to lack in that regard.

Khaled Ahmed test career should end after this. Useless bowler, useless fielder. He had his time with his buddy Abu Jayed when bd lacked pacers. But now theres many other youngsters waiting and could benefit by being in the squad instead of him.

Pardon my ignorance but would'nt heavy roller serve to bind the loos bits of soil and make it a flatter surface......
I'd rather use the light roller once or twice depending on if we are batting tommorow morning - this will not disturb the surface, will give grip to guys like Ash and jadz when its our turn to bowl...
What do the gr8 minds think on roller usage?

looking at the backdrop, kanpur looks pretty good. i am actually surprised.
 
This will be a very tough mental test for Bangladeshi batters. The more challenging situation, the more chance to show the real character. They should look to score and bat positively. If they get in shell, they will be out in no time. The field is so negative that even good balls are going for singles and Indian batsmen are able to get boundaries anyway. Exciting 3 and half sessions ahead

Don't think it's a good idea. BD will get to roll the pitch twice with very little gap. Just bat aggressively and declare 20 overs into tomorrow.
