India [316/6] beat West Indies [315/5] by 4 wickets in the 3rd ODI, win series 2-1

This is the best year of Rohit sharma. Dominated this year in all formats. Kohli effortlessly goes past Rohit in this year.

He has been pretty mediocre in those ODIs if you remove his record against Zimbabwe, his SR is still only 80. Obviously he has some skills and that is why he is opening at international level for India but hasnt done much in his career till now.

No one becomes a world beater after playing 24 matches. Never said he did too much with his career. He is pretty unfortunate to have his peak years coincided with the best top 3 cricket has ever seen.

Everybody goes through that phase. Even Kohli was dropped for a test series after his early stint. Apart from Dravid/Sachin every other player has been dropped.

Kohli still has it in him but it's unfortunate for him that by the time the next ODI world cup comes around, he'll be past his peak.

Jaddu playing well in a pressure game. That's why he is in team. A big match player.

People talk as if Rahul been given hundreds of chances and still came out a failure, myth like that needs to be busted. Even Kedar Jadhav played more matches than him for crying out loud.

Yes. We have to understand why someone fails to realize whether it is worth persisting with someone. IN Rahul's case is never because he is not good enough. Just little bit of mental adjustments needed.

Enjoyed WI series after long time
They played better than SL + Ban + SA.

Thanks Pooran, Hetmyer, Pollard , Cottrell and Shai hope.
WI looks very good

Match is over folks, move along, nothing to see here. Our tailenders can't put bat on ball on a good day.

In the last five years this is the first time Kohli has got out in the 80s or 90s in an ODI chase.

They were overdoing their slow stuff in the process utterly losing control with their slower ones. Sure they got rid of Kohli with slower one. Can't do the same for others.

Teams to successfully chase 300+ Target in Odi (most times)

India - 19*
England - 11
Australia - 10
Srilanka - 10

Kohli, Jadeja and Thakur did pretty well under pressure. Congrats to Indian fans.
But credit to WI as well who are no 8 in ODI rankings to be as competitive throughout.

Good cricket by India. Top 5 is solid and they made their contributions at vital moments over this series, Jaddu is a big match player and should continue for India while Pandya is again a must in ODIs once he gets fit.

India only have to work at no.6 position. Kedhar Jadhav has to go. Get in some other young talented bloke.

Windies batsmen have recently improved their ability to play spinners.

They thrashed Afghans 3-0 in India last month.

Pooran. what a find. Pollard is not such a bad captain. But their bowling needs discipline. Just because they know how to bowl slower balls they don't have to bowl randomly.

They have been doing well against spin for a while. Reason is their own pitches have become more spin friendly. Been that way for the last few years

Are Windies actually good or India mediocre without Bumrah and Pandya?

Very close series.

They always seem to win a game or two whenever they play us, perhaps it's just me but they always seem extra motivated against us. They are familiar with the conditions due to IPL, the pitches also suit their power hitters. Not taking any credit away but we bowled bad for the most part and our fielding was worse than club level.

Shardul played an inning which Pant and Pandya can only imagine playing in their dreams. Staying till the end and finishing the match is surely not their forte for sure. :inti

Good series. Iyer and Pant showed their potential. This should close the door on Dhoni, DK, Ambati, Kedar, and other dinosaurs.

Quite a few of England 's 300 + chases came in the last 4 years . Just goes to show that chasing 300 is still not as easy as many think.

What happened at CT 17 Final? You do realize some people still remember Jadeja for that and that only, that's how bad it was.

West Indies need one two good bowlers who can contain runs and bowl good at death. They got too many batting all-rounders who are not great for bowling on these flat pitches. Otherwise they have a good young side with potential.

potential? serious potential. contenders. Very underrated side.

This guy made a career out of those 2 tons against that England series at home 3-4 years back.

bro it's not about how good you are. It's about who you know that counts. jhadav and many other undeserving players will always get more opportunities because they are either crowd favourites which he isn't or if they have connections wirh top officials or the captain/selector himself.

we have Shaw, gill and several other players who can replace rohit, dhawan etc.

jaddu is a good odi player and a great test player. This isn't a pressure game though. No bilateral can ever simulate a KO stage of a world cup.

That was his only bad day, rest he has always come good in big games. Won India the CT 13 final and ups his game when matters.
