What's new

India (329) defeat England (322/9) by 7 runs to win 3rd ODI - Win series 2-1

I've noticed some hatred for moeen over here

One reason because of his beard and second of his Pakistani heritage.

Game is mostly over. Moeen giving it a go and watch when he gets out his haters will come out saying he choker and lost game. While guys like Butler, Sam Curran and few others who really choked in first game no one will say word against them

For some reason Ali gets hate, he bowled well in two matches. He is in and out of England side and played quite low normally when he cannot build an inning. He does need to do more with batting when he gets good opportunity today he has little chance as lo g someone supports him on the other end.

Natty lost his rhythm in the break it seems..hope he gets his radar back in the IPL

I find Moeen as one of the most humble and down to earth cricketer.

Yep not only here..even on BBC hys when it was announced that Mo js coming back to UK, there was so much hate. Only after Andrew miller's article that Mo got any support..poor chap and I really feel bad for him

Right Moeen, I have been slagging you off on here. I hope you've been reading PP while sat there working on your plans to smash these Indian trundlers back up the road towards Mumbai.
Time for you to prove me and your haters wrong, get you backside in gear and shut up the detractors.

Prasiddh and Natrajan being Prime fast bowlers Really bowling very
bad lines. Wonder what Indian selectors think while picking these Bowlers over Like Siraj.

Good partnership. Stating the obvious here, but they need to score the bulk of the runs. If Curran gets out with 50-odd remaining, I back Moeen and Rashid to finish the game.

Rana ,Moen fails again. Averages 17 in 45 games. Please call out the speical treatment.

Another pretty 20 from Moeen, what a choker.

An average of 17 in 45 games. But apparently he gets treated differently and unfairly. I'm sorry if that was another player continually being selected, Moen fans would call that player every name under the sun and talk about unfair amount of chances being given to that player.

Moen needs to stop blaming everyone for his own failures and saying he doesn't get backed. He has been backed to the hill and performed poorly .

The stint with CSK will make Moeen a clutch player and mentally strong enough to finish matches.

Anyone who leaves RCB is bound to become a star anyway:msd

Dhawan is good in ODIs, batted well today. Gill will not score faster than him.

Dhawan's style is outdated specially when you have 4. consolidators. You don't need more than 2 in the lineup. Infact in these picthes 1 is better

When England dropped Moen from the WC, they went onto win it. Maybe the same could happen with CSK if he isn't performing. :inti

Moeen is a bang average player but he is a world class all-rounder (Stokes level) when playing against India.

Sam Curran definitely has something about him with the bat. Needs to work on his bowling.

Only a matter of time before Sam gets out!

But he is a good talent with bat and bowl and will be backed regardless of anyone's opinion.

street cricketer, Sam Curran getting into some form before the IPL. Good news for us. :msd

England hasn't won an ODI series in India during last 37 years.

India's inability to close the tail at display here..worse is giving atleast 8 runs each over

88 required off 84. Very doable against our trundlers.

Not sure why you are picking out Moeen Ali who still scored 29 odd. What about Bairstow, Butler and Roy?

I have a lot of time for Sam Curran. He may look like a 12 year old but he is a feisty character with a lot of potential.

Both Curran brothers have something about them.

All three wipe the floor with Moeen in terms of performances over the last few years.

They don't average 17 in their last 45 games and they don't complain about being treated differently.

Tom has character but don't think he is upto the level. Sam Curran is definitely a quality player.

Rana you pick on Curran yet he has scored more than Moen. I'm sure you'll defend Moen Ali still.

Hardik concedes a 4 now. All pointers are
pointing towards England win today.

Imagine comparing the impact and contribution of Roy, Buttler and Bairstow with Moeen’s. :91:

Those guys won the World Cup for England. Even if they completely fail for the next 3-4 years, they will always be miles above Moeen in terms of status.

Sam Curran is a very good cricketer. No idea why he gets as much hatred that he gets.

Still remember how he single handedly won tests for England against us during the last tour and he is actually the player I fear the most in the upcoming tour of England.

Hardly any dot balls despite England losing 7 which is totally unlike us. Our top order bats play out so many dot balls upfront.

He is one of those players who will always chip in one way or the other. He has that mentality and character.

He is basically Moeen Ali with guts.

Anything to defend Moen. Bairstow is the top scorer in this series and Roy has done well in the T20s as well. Same with Buttler.

I know you are still traumatised by the assault that your Special one suffered the other day but it might have taught you a lesson to not go after innocent, decent cricketers who have God gifted ability like Moeen does

Good over from Prasidh, 2 off it. Need more overs like this one.

Moeen is English. He is playing in the correct team. Curran is not.
