What's new

India (329) defeat England (322/9) by 7 runs to win 3rd ODI - Win series 2-1

Another drop.

The fielding coach must be bricking himself. If India lose, it’s because they literally dropped the series, how many lives is is that now - 7?

I wouldn’t be surprised if the next bowler bowls 3 delivers that each go for 5 runs such is the comedy on show here.

And another.... looked very tough.

I still think it just might be outside Curran's grasp.

Curran playing a peak MS Dhoni type knock. Taking it deap and keeping all hopes alive but can he pull off?

Everyone's down on confidence.

Need Kohli to bowl the last over. And forget about Albie Morkel while bowling it.

He should have been sacked ages ago.

Curran what are you doing. Last 2 overs his approach has been shambles. Just trying one shot. Left maybe too much to do now in last over

Unfortunately playing like the very lower order batsmen that he is

Hardik is such a phenomenal all round player in all departments. Indian Ben Stokes!

Super innings from Curran, despite being dropped thrice!

In the end we learn nothing new from the series, Both teams are capable of beating each other and have some main players missing. We knew all of this from before.

Great last over by Natrajan. India made several mistakes. Tactically as well. First they didn't play 10 balls at all. Got bowled out.

Gun performance by Curran.

Excellent final 2 overs by Hardik and Nattu.

Nattu...what a guy...nailing yorkers at will.

No other team in the world can clean sweep Eng in all 3 formats even at home.

I hope Sam Curran scores runs but India wins the game.

Win-win situation from both ends lol :yk

All the talk about England this and England that, in the end they lost the Test series, T20 series and now the ODI series. What matters in the end are the results and like most times they bottle.

England won 3 tosses. So should have won the series comfortably. Chasing is much easier here.
This. Despite losing all 3 tosses, we still won the series. Also despite Kohli leading us, we won it.

Good performance for India. Without Bumrah, lost all tosses, bowled with dew. Still won against England.

England also played well, especially Sam Curran. Good tour for them.

Fantastic Game.. Though that lbw decision against wood was absolutely biased, umpires knows that's not out most probably.. Excellent innings by Sam Curran..

What poor quality?

England should have won all three games with ease.
It wasn't the bowling but batsmen throwing it away

Bowling has been sub par

Dropped catches...

Overall poor quality

Curran not trusting his partner and not rotating the strike was the reason they lost it in the end. His inexperience showed there. Not to mention the catches we dropped. :inti

England's last two tours to India

2016/17
Tests: Lost 0-4
ODIs: Lost 1-2
T20Is: Lost 1-2

2020/21
Tests: Lost 1-3
ODIs: Lost 1-2
T20Is: Lost 2-3

Since Jan 2015, these are the only two instances of England losing all three legs of a tour - home or away.

Please stop this nonesense, you will always have one or two of your best players out, it's very seldom you can field your very top-side. If Bumrah had played and had a couple of off-games India might have lost the series.

England would have been better with Hales and Archer in ODIs but in the end what matters are those playing and winning the game.

That was what I was going to write he started doing that too early and in the end all the missed singles put more pressure on him. It was not like he was hitting boundaries every second ball himself.
Well done to India always win from sticky positions.

Not entirely true.
Their test side is not as good as it's white ball side.

In reality, England should have won all three games had they been a little bit more ruthless with the bat..
By ruthless I mean it's ok to just turn over the strike and coast to victory rather then trying to smash a four or six in each over.

Finally too much experimenting with the bowling... call it resting or rotating or whatever but they should have stuck with a settled lineup.

They have clearly improved. Won one test this time around. Last time they drew one and lost other four.

A very sloppy win in the end I have to say. Shouldn't have let England come this far.

I genuinely thought Nattu might have his career ended today when he took the last over. But props to him, he did well.

Another good job by England's premier spinners. Moeen bowled 6 terrific overs before he came up against the opposition's best six-hitter. Rashid will always be expensive but pick up crucial wickets, which is what he did today.

Had England not got those four wickets quickly, India would have been looking at 380, if not 400.

Rashid lost them the game. Bottled against Pandya and Pant.

Moeen chocked with the bat.

yet an other useless bilateral series victory for India...anyhow, congratulations to Indian fans.....commiserations to Pakistani fans, as usual.

Actually I think that was brilliant play by him. He did not allow India to strangle Wood and get him out, the match would have been over if Wood would have faced more balls.

Wait is that Sanjana in the studio. Is she back to work already?

Going to be a bit funny hearing her talk about Bumrah in the post match show. A bit like watching Guptill's wife interviewing him after the match.

Curran had it in control and put England in driving seat when he took it to 23 of 3 overs. But then pressure got to him and he had no clue what to do. If he just batted properly the way he was they would made those 23 easily but next 2 overs he was all over the place not knowing how to approach it.

Yes Rashid and Mooen lost the game. We know why you blaming just them two.
Pathetic seeing posters like you and few others who just have hate for them and just blame them especially Moeen. Every time they lose its Moeens fault
