India (349/8) defeat New Zealand (337) in a cliffhanger to win 1st ODI by 12 runs

If we think Pandya is our saviour who'll solve our problems of middle order then we are seriously mistaken.

Gill is single handedly keeping us afloat in this game.

Gill becomes fastest Indian and 2nd fastest overall after Fakhar Zaman to score 1K ODI runs.

Pandya breaking his own rule of playing out dot balls for the first 3 to 4 balls of an over.

Our tail and lower middle order has to be worst in world.

Pandya has to be one of the most overrated players in Indian cricket. A few innings here and there in T20s and we make him our T20 captain.

Had it not been for Rohit, we'd have crowned him our ODI captain too.

Now that Pandya is well set, hope he'll make Kiwi bowlers pay.

One way to bring Pandya back into form (batting) is ask him to bat higher in the order (like No.4). Actually his bowling is alright (and fielding) at the moment.

Thank god Pandya is out after wasting all those deliveries!

That wasn't out, but probably a good thing for India.

How is it a good thing? Now Shubman is not going to take any risks for another 4-5 overs as there are only bowlers left now. Hardik's wicket cost India atleast 20-25 runs to the total. Hardik can be destructive in the death as evident in the WC SF against ENG a few months back.

Latham has got to be the worse wicket keeper in the world he drops 1-2 catches to stumpings in every match

It's shocking how we can't produce a single batsman who can double up as a part time off spin option. Can't afford to play 2 allrounders and 4 bowlers. Back in 2011, we had Raina, yuvraj, srt, sehwag etc.

Bracewell rightly being being put in his place by jattan da Munda. Pakistan makes bowlers think they are next coming on murali or warne when they go to India their batsmen put them in their place and tell them you’re a maxwell at best.

With the exception of Rohit and Kohli, it's not that these guys are that great batsmen either.

The tv umpire went thru each rule of the tv umpire review rule book except the fact that the ball dint make contact with the stumps! Is this guy for real!
Indian umpires are just incompetent. He has a history of giving out wrong decisions.

Last 5 overs have produced just a boundary and a six.

At this rate, Gill can't complete his double 100 even if he remains at crease till the end.

Must have been a terrific innings this, but have to say Kiws have been very genrous to him, giving him 3 chances.

Indeed. Normally, Gill doesn't give so many chances.

Dear lord

Who is this world class trash I am seeing on the TV screen called Tickner ?

Not only does he have the ugliest bowling action I have ever seen but a more terrible looking run up.. How can trash like this make an international side ?

Mamoon was right

Gill is now officially better than all Asian batsmen besides the Indian stalwarts (in ODI at least)
