India 57/2 at Stumps on Day 2 (lead by 70) after bowling out South Africa for 210 in the 3rd Test

Got janssen, good fight and spirit shown by the young guy.
middle stump out of the ground what a sight for a quick bowler.
Pitch started to keep low. cmon get petersen.

Dussen at 4 is playing poorly. Bavuma scores a nice 30-40 and then throws it away. That he averages 33 after 46 games says a lot. And kyle verrynne is probably the worst wk batsman to have played for a top side ever.
This series has been intense but quality of batting from both sides has been abysmal
 
Liked how Shami and Bumrah both targetted stumps against Jansen. He did his best to survive but one of those delivery was bound to pass through his defence.
Good, it was Bumrah's in the end.

Dou you even check the first class record of Kyle verrynne? He average 50+ lol

SA are 170/7 because their top 6 is a shambles, having jansen at 7 is comical hes not all rounder, his batting is that of a number 9.

wow mahraj got 1 wicket, on a seamers wicket not exactly pivitol. SA have no world class batsmen and they decide to play 5 batsmen and a keeper, cricketing suicide. They only got away with it last test because elgar performed for once.
 
Keegan Petersen playing a fabulous innings. So balanced and assured. Decisive footwork. awesome back foot driving. What a star!

How many wickets ngidi taken in seamers friendly wicket ? Same as maharaj and Maharaj is 3rd highest scorer of South Africa so far in this match

RVD doesnt look good enough for test cricket
Bauvuma agreed nice 30s and 40s
verrynne is a test novice and shouldnt be at 6
jansen at 7 is comical, looks like a test number 9 or 10 with the bat

You seriously telling me their is a need for a spinner on this surface?

Yes mahraj got a few runs, which further emphasis how poor SA top 6 is and the need for another batsmen in the team.
 
Now that Petersen is gone, should not allow them to make more than 190-195.

Every run is worth its weight in gold.

I have based my opinion on what i've seen so far. He bats like he's banned from moving his front foot. No way he can score against likes of bumrah shami or any other top side in international game

He played very few matches ,so you can't judge player's based on few Matches .
 
This test will, in all probability be a 2nd innings shoot out.
 
The 2nd test has shown that South Africa are up for a handy 4th innings chase if conditions permit.

We need to aim for an eventual lead of 300 at least somehow.

Indians doing everything they can to have their lead erased....This is where someone like Wasim with his mastery wouldve wiped out the tail in no time....... As I type the lead now into the 20s
 
Surprisingly, despite such a great technique, Rabada did not hit a single half-century in tests.
 
Duane Olivier body is the greatest punching bag I have seen. The guy just takes on body blows on elbow, finger, arms, shoulders you name it.....
 
Bumrah gets another over for fifer. But it's Olivier who is on strike.
 
Bumrah looks over eager to get a 5-for, resulting in him conceding a few runs.
 
If South Africa manage to take lead by even a single run, I would consider them favorites in this match.

Also good fight shown by Olivier, played so long , wore a few - fantastic never say die spirit.
lead of 13 - will have to dig deep to fight this, wont be easy, the odd one keeping low.
 
The rest of this Test will go a long way to determining the legacy of this Indian Test side. If they can win in South Africa, following the twin victories in Aus (and 2-1 in Eng) furthers their claims to being among the best Test teams ever, just below 80-95 WI and 95-07 Aussies
 
Well done to Bumrah and well deserved. Poor quality of batting so far in the match, dare I say in the series, albeit few dogged innings. The bowling has been good from both sides.
 
India lead by 13. One inns shoot out to win the series. India need 200+ to win this match i think.
 
India should win from here on, I don't expect RSA to chase Down 250-260 yet again. All we have to do is get 250 on board and the series is won and I would surely expect India to get at least 250 this time.
 
Think it's going to be close match as there's no way india will be able to score over 225. With Pujara and Rahane part of the middle order, which struggles to score 225 even on good pitches, this is going to be a lot tougher for India than most people think.

With Kohli is in charge, i don't think our bowlers will concede more than 200 in 4th innings.
 
SA would be able to chase 170 I think… anything more in these conditions would be really tough.
 
Why doesn’t SA open with Jansen? He clearly bowls well against Indian batsmen! Olivier is hit and miss with his lengths
