What's new

India (96/2) trail by 242 runs at Stumps on Day 2 of the 3rd Test against Australia

This pitch isn't as flat as usual SCG wicket. There's some uneven bounce already and it will turn later as well.

Can Aus get to 400...

Starc is a much better batsman than the shot he played. He has an 80 plus against Pakistan

India have done really well today...this spell by Jadeja has been a real bonus

Doesn't daddy already have multiple big tons against India across formats :smith

His average against India is lower than his career average:kp

@jeetesh can you at least get facts right?
Smith averages 77 against India with a vareer average of 62.
In ODI's he averages 62, SR 105 against India, with 5 hundreds and 5 50's in 18 innings against a career average of 43.

Lol Jadeja is a lot more dangerous bowler than the opposition expects him to be. He gets in drift like Imad Wasim but he has better control, more accuracy and spins the ball array from the right hander most of the times

If that's true for today, then Aussies had a lot of luck. Yesterday, the conditions were extremely easy for batting and India will have to bat on much tougher conditions

Jadeja should have given more overs.
He didn't bowl a single over yesterday.
He discarded for a while even after first 2 wickets.
Ashwin has given 25 overs.
Bizarre strategies.

Yeah India have done well to restrict Aus...400 would 370-400 would have been a good total

The australian batting will have no chance in Asia.
They are so indecisive against left arm spin here.

Well given Ashwin's performance last game, they gave him a long spell...can't fault Rahane much there.

But India have done well to restrict them.

He isn't 18 but he's not 28 either....he's around 20.

Let's see how he goes in future....I wouldn't write him off so quickly, he was brought into the team too early and he's clearly not ready for Tests yet but he has some potential.

He has pace , but if he does not learn art of taking wickets, he will fade away. On Top of that He has Waqar over him , that will add catalyst to that.

Yes...he has to play more first class cricket that's where he will learn more about his bowling.

Test cricket is tough...its not the place to learn on job.

I think Aussies have got a decent total here - another 25, they’ll be ahead. This is not a typical SCG track where 450 probably was per. And, this track will get faster, cracks will come out once sun bakes it

In a wierd way the rain has probably eliminated the chance of an Australian defeat here i think.

Probably Only two results likely.

The most amazing thing about that run out was Jadeja ran all the way from the boundary and had to run a huge distance. The best fielder in the world. India's fitness crusade zindabad. Learn and adopt Pakistanis

Smith was looking brilliant.
Jadeja is already my player of the match.
I'm shocked that he doesn't play every test

The first class batting averages of the indian top 7 playing today are insane.
Averaging in the 60s. Interesting to see them bat here.

Pakistan needs Kohli the fitness influencer!

Yep, even with an Indian fightback, I think we can eliminate Ind winning. Aus can win or draw here. Rain has taken out lots of time.

That's why test cricket aka home domination sucks. I mean in 5 day period you're bound for rain one day or the other.

Depends on Rohit, if India makes 400 or more. If Rohit fails then depends on Pujara & Rahane to cross 200.

Well, we saw two fantastic tests earlier so I don't think it sucks always. Even this one, Indians will be playing to save the test to keep the series alive. It will be a good contest when Aus will be pushing for a win.

We can afford 1 more loss and still retain the trophy :afridi

After 90 overs, Aussies were 256/6 - that’s theoretically after Day 1..... I guess not that bad show Indian bowling. But, if it doesn’t rain anymore India will do great to save this Game. This is not typical SCG track any more.

Love your 'analysis' India. It always happens exactly opposite.

India will do 'great' to 'draw', which means win for India is on the cards. Thanks mate!

When India scores 400+ and bowls Aus out for under 150, this possibility comes in big time my friend :smith

Anything is possible, but I was going by the base rate based on how I see both teams right now. I could be wrong, let's see.

Interested to see Vihari bat. He really needs to score this test to justify the hype from Kohli

Not many Indian batsmen have difficulty playing short ball nowadays, perhaps a main reason why they do well in Aus and Pakistani batsmen just cant play short ball to save their lives.

Short ball or length ball pak cant play anything. Comparing India with Pak makes no sense nowadays

Current players with most Test Centuries

27 - Steve Smith*
27 - Virat Kohli
24 - Kane Williamson
24 - David Warner
19 - Ross Taylor
18 - Cheteshwar Pujara

Pitch does not have as much movement as Melbourne and Adelaide. That's why this pitch is more suited to rohit

Rohit still did not deserve to be picked even if he scores. No match after ipl final
