India (96/2) trail by 242 runs at Stumps on Day 2 of the 3rd Test against Australia

If one of them scores 40 then we are talking about 60-70 runs coming including both ends. Keeper-batman and Smith are there. If smith goes quickly then what you are saying may be true, otherwise, I think Aus has a good shot at 400 plus. Anyway, the pitch looks pretty flat. I liked the first two tests much better.

If India put a good total in first inning then this match will be dull.

I think this pitch does offer some turn and bounce as Ashwin has shown and you can also produce a wicket with a sustained amount of pressure through consistency and line and length. The Aussie bowlers are taller and stronger and therefore they should get more purchase on the bounce of this deck. But a 350-370 score and India have a hugggge opportunity to win this game if they bat the next 1 and a half days

Has he played in England? Whats his record like there.
If he has done well in england than his record in nz might be an anamoly.
If not, than i guess his style is perhaps not that conducive to those pitches.

He played three tests in England in 2018. Averages 25 there with one fifer.
He was a bit rusty when we visited NZ as he was making a return after 5 months due to injury

He will be in the future. I think currently zaheer is a bit better. Bumrah hasn't played a test in india yet

He should be rested for the England series as well. We have enough bowlers to win at home. But need a fit and firing Bumrah in August when we tour England.

Have any of you tried Bumrah's action? I was playing cricket last year after ages and copied his action. Bowl comes really well and gives that extra bounce. I will be surprised if many young bowlers dont imitate his action in future.

Hyperextension enables him to bowl fast with that action, others wont be able to copy him.

Siraj bowling well but bit slow for my liking. Its just his 2nd test and he is a young man, should be bowling at 138-142 range atleast.

Aussies should have brought Aaron Finch and Maxwell instead of Wade and cameron green. They would have eaten Indian bowling attack here.

Lol where’s the poster tyron who said Green is better than Martyn :))

No. Finch would have struggled like he did all his tesr career. He’s not a test match player

Maxwell is a t20 guy.

Question is does Bumrah chucks, I think his bowling action should be checked, it wont be because we all know BCCI IS CRICKET MUNNA BHAI BOLA TU MUNNA BHAI.

Was he in that range ever? If not how are you even making that Statemebt

On this wicket i think Maxwell would have been a beast. Aaron finch is a solid player, underestimated player.

Nah, India is not winning here. Aus will get to 350 even if they fold cheaply. 4 sessions are already gone. It will be either Aus win or draw. Aus has to bat really poor to lose from this position.

If India can somehow eke out 300 runs , we wont lose this match for sure.
Looks possible on this pitch but Cummins can work wonders even on placid pitches

Green hasn't impressed me in the slightest, he's several years away from being Test standard as a batsmen and bowler.

Playing with 10 with him.

He avgs 25 in ENG... Yeah it seems all Indian fast bowlers in NZ is not a great sight for Indian fans..

New ball will always create problems but if we can somehow come out of that phase 300 aint going nowhere.
Why not send tailenders to open so that they can help us out

Siraj has done well so far but he is bowling 129-133ks on Australian speedguns. At his age thats a bit of a worry as his workload increases.

He is a backup seamer. Will not play when we have all of Bumrah-Ishant-Shami-Umesh-Bhuvi fit. Even I feel he will not do well in long term.

While its nice to see Bumrah getting wickets, I see the confidence as well but he has bowled 22 overs already...

Now is the problem for the Indians, they just dont know how to remove the Tail. This is setup for a classic Steve Smith innings and take Aus to 500 or close to 500.

Boss , its six down already , last 4 cannot add 240 runs here, its not possible.

Jadeja has again shown he is a great handy player across formats , contributes in every game.

Can india for once in its life not concede 50+ to #8-11

Usually Australians reach 500 in 100 overs but they are so careful, scared against the Indians that they have not made the most of being 200/2

Can Australia repeat 36 ALL OUT AGAIN. I think with under cloud conditions they will fancy their chances.

Starc early in his carer used to be a bit of dasher down the order like Johnson , Nowadays he has become a proper tailender , though he has 10 test fifties to his name

Smith you idiot. Just get the damn run....He is batting slower than Geoff Boycott here

Geez, what just happened in a matter of couple of hours?

I swear I had a sleap once Australia reached 200-2. Can anyone tell who ran on whom since then?

Jadeja got 3 wickets, Bumrah has got 2.

Some very questionable no balls being called against Jadeja. Has Aus activated their 12th man on the field here for backup

After 90 overs, Aussies were 256/6 - that’s theoretically after Day 1..... I guess not that bad show Indian bowling. But, if it doesn’t rain anymore India will do great to save this Game. This is not typical SCG track any more.
