Can an Indian fan give an analysis of the India A squad selected against NZ A? Which players to watch out for other than the usual suspects like Mayank, Nair, Gill and Siraj?

Thank you

A squad for first match in New Zealand: M Vijay, Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane (capt), Parthiv Patel (wk), K Gowtham, Shahbaz Nadeem, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Rajneesh Gurbani, Vijay Shankar, KS Bharat

A squad for second and third matches in New Zealand: Abhimanyu Easwaran, Mayank Agarwal, R Samarth, Karun Nair (capt), Ankit Bawne, Shubman Gill, Vijay Shankar, KS Bharat (wk), Ishan Kishan, K Gowtham, Shahbaz Nadeem, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar, Rajneesh Gurbani

Fast bowler Rajneesh Gurbani is one to look out for. Has good pace and very good repeatable action. Has two hattricks in Ranji trophy.

The A squad for the first match predictably has many names that need practice before the tests in Australia begin. The two fast bowlers of interest are Siraj and Saini.

For the next two matches, I am personally disappointed to see S Gopal not being there. He's a leg spinner in Kumble mould and has a decidedly higher ceiling than Gowtham. Probably has a better FC record too.

Fast bowlers are meh aside from Saini and Siraj. Shocked not to see Rajpoot there, a tall and pacy bowler from UP. Deepak Chahar is a nothing bowler and Gurbani might turn out to be Bhuvi's replacement. Bowlers missing are Avesh, Rajpoot, and Khaleel. There are a few other quick bowlers in domestics but they haven't played a full Ranji season to merit a place yet.

Batting is predictable again. Consistent domestic performers are rewarded but not many names there that you would expect in the senior team in coming months and years. Except Shubman Gill and Mayank. Gill is an interesting case because he has only played a couple of FC matches and yet already included in the team. It means he will find his way into the senior team soon, much like Shaw.

Gurbani and Saini may have some future if they improve.

Kishan is the middle class man's Pant.

Rest not worth discussing. At best will end up domestic stalwarts

Fast bowlers to look out for - Md Siraj, Saini and Gurbani. While Siraj and Saini are pretty quick, Gurbani is a medium pacer, more around the 125- 132 range. But Gurbani may give some surprises.
Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill obviously will be the batsmen to look out for.

I am personally hoping Vijay Shankar to do well. He could be a decent medium pace allrounder that India needs.

Suryakumar Yadav would've been a great addition. He is the best finisher in India now. Can hit both pacers and spinners nonchalantly. Look at the last 2 matches of India C in Deodhar Trophy. Was good for Mr in IPL as well.

It is refreshing to see Parthiv Patel in the A squad and now in Indian test team against Australia. :inti
