Indian Players Almost Mobbed, Body-Shamed In Australia. BCCI's Strong Reply

Fans will no longer be allowed at India's practice sessions in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia after fans passed "rude" comments during the team's training here ahead of the second Test starting on Friday. The practice session was thrown open to fans on Tuesday. While a handful of them gathered to watch Australia, thousands converged to catch the Indian team live in action from close quarters as the practice facility stands in Adelaide are very close to the nets.

"It was complete chaos. During the Australian training session, not more than 70-odd people turned up but during India's session, 3000 came. No one expected so many fans to turn up," a senior BCCI official told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

"There was another fans' day in Sydney (ahead of the fifth Test) which stands cancelled as players were very disturbed by the rude and insensitive comments that were passed (here)," he added.

An eye-witness said that fans badgered the likes of Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant to hit sixes and passed comments on the fitness of another player.

"Virat (Kohli) and Shubman Gill could have been mobbed because of so many people. Some were doing Facebook live with friends and talking loudly just as the batter took stance," he said.

"One supporter continuously urged a player to say 'hi' to him in Gujarati. Another particular cricketer was body-shamed."

Is this true? @rpant_gabba :inti

I don't know why this is even news, it's just indians just being indians

These Indian fans are idiots and if it weren’t illegal I wouldn’t mind a few of them being soundly thrashed in public.

But, oh if we’re doing generalisations, have you seen Pakistanis being Pakistanis at a cricket match?

If you don’t believe ask some of the more distinguished Mods, @MIG and @Saj. I remember a few of them talking about how Pakistani fans behaved in a cricket match in England

And if memory serves right, some of these ‘interesting comments’ were made by women.

These animals don’t deserve to be this close to professional athletes or celebrities.

Its horrible in a match situation but you can give leeway (slightly) because emotions may be heated.

In this case these Indians showed up to a training session it seems with the sole aim of abusing.

They probably did it to go viral on social media.

Thankfully it didn’t turn out to be a Pakistani spectators in the end as usual Indian media does.

But Joke aside its a ridiculous act and must be handled strictly.

Where is the power of BCCI get some AI fans for these sessions

Don't forget the Harris Rauf incident

Why do Indians often resort to whataboutism?

Why not condemn the actions of these fans instead of doing whataboutism?
Plenty of Indians have condoned it. I condone it too.

But its necessary to counter the hidden malicious pakistani jabs and holier than thou attitude

Not to the extreme of Canada, but Australia too has attracted a fair share of Punjabi/Haryanvi riff raff over the past 10 years.

these cricketers have no clue what fans say about them on forums then :ROFLMAO:

Sensitive snow flakes. Grow a thick skin. Don’t endorse religious/racial or family related abuse but getting triggered about body shaming or someone saying you can’t play? Really?

Some idiots fans are always behave like this so better to find them through CCTV footage and banned them from entering the grounds forever .

"AREY, TUM log ne kitna dekha hai mera batting. Abhi bas na. (You guys have seen me bat so much. Now enough.)"

Rohit Sharma had you at Arey.As he did the bunch of Indian media personnel huddled behind his net at the Adelaide Oval. Even if his message to them was a bit sterner in nature. The Indian Test captain had walked out to bat alongside Rishabh Pant a good hour before India's scheduled nets session on Tuesday, three days out from the second Test.

There he'd played and missed at a couple before edging a couple of deliveries from the reserve Indian fast bowlers, like is the case with most batters facing the pink ball in the greenish Adelaide Oval nets pitches. It's not like those recording their clips from behind Rohit were being noisy or even doing something to distract him. But the senior batter still felt bothered by their presence. In a few seconds, they'd been asked by the team security to step aside.

As per the cb , this is the first paragraph of their article. Seems fans had a ho at him as he was not able to play mukesh .Fans may have been very offended after nz series loss and his casual interviews i guess.

any bets it was Sarfraz Khan that was body shamed ?
As per multiple sites , sarfaraz is the last one to bat along with aswin sincd Perth net practice. So there is no chance of him practising first in front of fans.once sarfaraz struggled in Perth nets, no one bothered about his practice . Sarfaraz lost a lot of weight infact so people will respect him for putting the effort.fans may have gone after the guy who does not bothered about fitness. It means most probably rohit.pant is back after accident so no one will go after him.

This is typical SC mentality from skme of these folks from Ind Pak Ban. See that a few times here in the US. A typical typical SC that you see. These idiots should have been finned and banned from entering the stadium again. You have young kids and children and these crude comments from these idiots spoils it for everyone.

Rohit Sharma Reveals Real Reason Behind Decision To Ban Fans From Team India Practice

Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma revealed the reason behind the team management banning supporters from attending the net sessions during the ongoing Test series against Australia. Rohit made it clear after the second Test match in Adelaide that the practice sessions are private and they are not in favour of any kind of public intervention. Ahead of the pink-ball Test, the Indian practice session was open to the public but it turned quite chaotic with some players facing insensitive comments from the crowd.

"You know, the net sessions are very private, and this was the first time ever I saw so many people during the nets. And when you're training, when you're practising, there are a lot of conversation that happens, and those conversations are very private. We don't want anyone to hear those conversations. It is as simple as that because there's a lot of planning," Rohit said in the press conference.

Rohit even joked that if the fans are interested in watching them, they can come during the Tests.

"There's a lot of talking that happens. And the crowds are very close to that practice facility. There are five days of Test cricket. They can come and watch us there," he said.

Following a comprehensive ten-wicket win over India in the second Test at the Adelaide Oval to level the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series 1-1, Australia have moved back to the top of the 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship standings.

The Pat Cummins-led side have their points percentage at 60.71 to go past both South Africa and India in the championship table, with the win at Adelaide their ninth victory of the ongoing cycle.

On the other hand, the heavy defeat has meant Rohit Sharma-led India have dropped down to third place, and see its points percentage fall to 57.29, after being 61.11 post their 295-run win in Perth.

India now needs to win its remaining three Tests against Australia in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney to have a chance at entering their third straight WTC final, to be held at Lord's next year.

So people in Perth are fine to listen private conversations but not people in other cities. Definitely fans in Adelaide must have called his pet name "vadapov" and asked him to retire.

What gives fans the right to come in and say these types of things? Whether it’s in Perth or Adelaide, if I were a player, I would be very annoyed by this kind of behavior. Just because you’re having a net session doesn’t mean you don’t need to focus and play with concentration. As any player will tell you, preparation is the key to success.

I agree with you completely in case of a perfectly sample.but we are talking about a completely unfit shameless captain who wants to hog on to the team and suck the life out of the team. He don't want to take responsibility for the losses and pushes his teammates under the bus with out any guilt. So fans have every reason to be angry and call out his pathetic mentality. As a professional player he is answerable to his performance, fitness and can't escape by dictatorship .

Fans have every right to express their opinion but there is a time and a place for everything. And a practice session is not the place to do it. There is also a big difference between voicing your opinion and pestering the players. I'm sure this is not the first time Indian players have encountered something like this, but it would have to be alot for them to cancel the entire training session. In the case of our desi fans, I think a great many of them simply lack class.

This js part and Parcel of professional cricketers. It is because of fans he is over 100 million worth. As long as it doesn't get physical these things are often reactionary. Most fans won't hesitate to share what they feel if they bump in to these guys.

Come on bro when will fans will get a time to share their opinion. Every one from sub continent is a pr hyped superstar's to push their own agenda. As per cricbuzz, he was owned by mukesh out of all the net bowlers and fans have questioned his technique resulting in the boycott. I agree with the class part though .until we become sporting country we have that issue and It may take few more generations for us to behave like west .

I think he planned to stay till ct25 in odis and wtc finals in tests at any cost. Now after loosing nz series , aus matches in most shameful manner his form,(un)fitness is evident to his blind followers also.therefore he is simply biding the time and trying to avoid the tough questions from any one.his pr team and Mumbai commentary mafia went overboard once again with "selfless" drama before the match and it backfired spectacularly. You can even observe all the abusers in "Dumbest captain" thread must have vanished since nz series

He is also a mediocre t20 captain. He only won cause india had a great team

Same with odi. He had the best most potent bowling attack. Somehow messed it up with his intent bs. Kohli with his slowness

And also selection of kl knowing fully well He chokes under pressure. Some players are just not built for pressure games.

Rohit after losing to Kiwis has lost all his fan following I guess. People loved him before that series IMO.

Banning these net-sessions will not do any good to team actullay, makes you look weak.
