Lets not only remember his last few years performance as a test skipper when our bowlers were atrocious. If I recall he did not loose a single test since he took over as a captain in 2008 till 2011 Eng tour. He was a great leader in tests too but agree LOIs are his main forte.

When we were losing he didnt try anything different or didnt give any confidence. We didnt lose any series for 3 years, primarily because of our batting which clicked more often than not. I am not saying he is a poor test captain, but he is not an amazing test captain either.

In LOIs though, I consider him to be one of the greatest captains ever.

MS should keep at least 2 over of Bumrah for the end. Probably try Pandya and Jaddu for an over during power play.

A guy delivers a perfect yorker and doesn't react cos he places himself at a high pedestal and expects to do.

I felt our score may again have been below par.

Just 2 wickets down in 20 overs and not even 10 rpo.

But then Aussies suck against spin.

While there was little to no spin, big grounds have helped our spinners.

In India, grounds will be smaller but there will be more spin.
 
Was impressed with Umesh's fielding too. Since Agarkar, we never had a bowler who was so athletic in the field.

but i still think we are getting a bit excited early. I have seen this story way too many time.

remember how bhuvi was swinging everything for the first year and half. Post the Lords test he seems to be a completely useless bowler.

If Yuvi and Pandya can bat, that would be a game changer for india.

Yeah I have mentally accepted that I won't expect Bumrah to amount to anything until 2 years pass.

But for now, we can enjoy his performance.

It was below par, should have been 200..we are still not utilizing our batting depth as well.

I am actually surprised to see Aussies struggle here against spin. The pitch had nothing and the ball was wet, it cannot get any easier.

Indeed.

But to be honest, I am not pumped up about Yuvi's batting.

His bowling is good for now but its a hit or miss in T20s where even proper bowlers can't have a guaranteed good performance.

Still adds balance to the side where we can play 3 quicks and 3 spinners.

So in that case, I am undecided. Maybe play him as a slogger.

Its all straight balls.

I was actually kind of worried that they might smash our spinners in one of the overs atleast.

But nothing happened at all. :)))

Indeed. In fact, if we win 3-0 against SL, we will be no. 1 in T20s.

We could end up being 1 in Test, 2 in ODIs and 1 in T20s.

Would that mean we are the best team overall?

Haha.....if we have those rankings, then we can be called that.

Rankings in 3 formats deserves praise.

We won 2011 WC.
We won 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
We had SF exit in 2015 WC.
And even recently we were favourites to win WC T 2014 but lost due to Yuvi.
Tests have been a botch up but then who hasn't looked like a joker away from home these days.

So overall....we can be called the best if we have No 1, No 2 and No 1. :D

Isn't it interesting to see Indian batters succeeding in every game be it tests, ODIs and T20s? Their bowlers are crap but their batsmen are very consistent.
They could have easily won the ODI series 3-2 or 4-1. The games were so close
 
Paindu performance by Australia. The Aussies were always a paindu T20 team lol.
