England have no other options than to use Jack Leach now. Can't keep the pacers all day.
 
While the game moves on to teams playing at 4 and 5 rpo in Test cricket, I'm 100% sure Pakistan will stick to playing at 2 RPO because that's how Test cricket is supposed to be played according to them.
 
I don't mind Pant failing in pointless T20s if he can continue playing these knocks in Test Cricket. Let Kartik take over the fun-cricket duties.

And here he is. Maybe try Root as well not in tandem though, an off spinner to left handers.

so basically they would have fluked it due to conditions that are awful. calssic ingerland.
lets go that far. potts old anderson etc aint that good. they played against absolutely weak batsmen of swing bowling. they were made to look better than they are by average batsmen of indian top order.
 
Why are Pakistan not including Rohail nazir into the test side? We were told that he is 125% of the test player that Pant is. He would have scored a ton at a strike rate of 140 compared to this fat Pant guy .

And England would get bowled out for 20 runs lol Come on that is not the reason why they struggle.Here they had a poor undercooked batting unit to bowl to. They cashed in with new ball.
 
England will be ruing letting India off the hook, India has a relentless all conditions bowling attack and will not let England score that many runs.
 
Top knock by both saved us from crumbling, now keep pushing don’t lose focus.

Back in sehwag times similar thing happened. Sehwag would be explosive in ODIs was general opinion but eventually he was more successful in tests

While that is true about Sehwag but he did play his role perfectly in LOI too.. his semi knock against PCT was actually very good.

Sehwag had better balance and was more conventional looking which made it attractive.

Pant manufactures too many shots in Lois and probably as a modern day player has more 360 range. His technique also is unconventional so it looks very hacky at times.

Mamoon was right about Pant from beginning.
 
Extras have scored more than all Indian batsmen except Pant/Jadeja.. such has been the discipline by English bowlers.
 
About time Root comes in.. India’s issue has always been with these spinners
 
Now is the time to take full toll on English trundlers Root and Leach.

India's 3rd session RR is circa 6.2

If you call this cashing in with the new ball, then good for you.
 
New Zealand played 5 pacers in WTC Final. Worked well. England should have done the same and used Root as spinner.

They weren't bowling to Pant lol They were bowling to Pujara, Vihari, Kohli. 2 under cooked. One is not that good in Tests.
 
300 up in just 63rd over and that after having the likes of Vihari and Pujara in our ranks.

India should target 400 here. They will have a good chance of a draw or an outside chance of winning if that happens.

yes that would work. but all of them are still slow. barring wood or stone who are often injured. so pant will still fire.
also you are forgetting time? need to bowl out overs. you will get penalised.

I cannot believe Bhuvi is considered for these conditions. He is a must to have in England, SA and NZ.

Shami and Siraj are similar. Both are skiddy fast. India needs more variety.
 
England cannot play with this 3.5 bowling attack against Asian sides given that spinners won't be a threat. They need 4 full time pacers and a proper spinner

rain helped the hapless english trundlers. so ? why should it be unfair to batsmen? can we ensure that rain and gloomy conditions appear when pommy bats come out to bat too? if so then yes sure you may have a point.
we arent even supposed to play in such terrible conditions. worst country for cricket.
