India should aim not just to beat but to humiliate England this summer

Back to back 200s for India.

Bowling looking scary.

England are nervous to face Indian spinners.
 
We lack middle order firepower. Dhoni, karthik, pandey...
Note: Karthik is a good player and is in awesome form but still he is not a power hitter.
 
India should go with:-

Rohit
Dhawan
Kohli
Rahul
Karthik
Dhoni
Pandya

This should be the batting lineup.
 
Indian spinners are getting good turn in Ireland.If they could do that in England too, then English batsmen would be in trouble.

Our spin threat will only be in the LOI leg of the tour. The battle between England's explosive batting lineup and India's spinners in the middle overs will determine the outcome of the ODI's. Moeen Ali is not a good player of spin seeing how he was pretty much lyon's bunny last Ashes.

Cook isn't in the team in ODIs which is where India has the greatest spin bowling pair of all time. Chahal and Kuldeep are right now as lethal as Lillee and Thompson. England will have no answer to that challenge.
 
I laughed hard at Moeen Ali being called a good player of spin bowling.

He scored two test centuries in India.

His problems against Lyon were more psychological than technical. He wasn’t taking wickets and a loss of confidence fed into his batting.
 
England and India are evenly matched Teams .... with England playing at home ... they should be favored!!!

Against Ashwin and Jadeja who doesnt turn the ball much.Kuldeep and Chahal are different.Especially in LOI when you have to score runs.
Also Ajith Agarkar and Kumble had centuries in England.You wont say they were good against fast bowlers, do you?
 
Kuldeep and Chahal are the key. I won't be surprised with an Indian 3-0 in the ODIs tbh. England just hasn't faced spinners of this quality in a while.

Also their bowling is rubbish.If scotland can smoke them to 370, so can Indians.

Ashwin has an excellent test record.

Agarkar and Kumble were facing English seamers, not Lillee & Thompson or the WI pace quartet. They got one century each in umpteen tests, not two in five (plus a fifty) like Moeen in India.

He looks good on occasion but later on in that series he was getting dismissed quite cheaply. I actually think Jos Buttler is pretty good and can be used as an aggressive option against spin.

Buttler is a key wicket for Indians in this series.

England can only beat weaker teams. If Australia send their full team they would whitewashed England comprehensibly. Both England and South Africa choke when the actual time to deliver.

I think the last T20 win was our last victory in the ongoing complete overseas cycle across all formats and next we are winning is when we play a match in India.

T20’s any team can win. But test more often than not the superior team or the team who played better will win.. So tests I expect India to win 4-0 or 3-0 atleast..

Anything less than that will be disappointment for us.

Aren’t you South African? Or are you English?

Either ways it’s best chance for India to win.. Most players are in their prime and we are ranked 1.. England have got out of form players or players who are past their peak.. Series is in August the weather will suit us..

ODI and T20’s are played first so team have a chance to get used to the surroundings..

If we can’t win this time we might as well stop playing over seas series altogether and just stick to bullying teams at home..

Would be shameful and disgraceful if we can’t win this series IMO.

We are comfortably gonna with the 3rd T20. This is not some Aus C attack for England to score runs easily. Indian lineup is lethal even without Bumrah and they struggled to chase 148 down till the final over. Not going to be a cakewalk for English. Go India Go!
 
It will be really embarrassimg if England cant even defend 198 gifted to tbem today by India's second choice bowling line up.

sometimes you've to let the opposition win so they can feel a bit confident. India will definitely humiliate the bartaanvi team.

Exactly the point.

The seeetest wins are when you give the other camp a hope of victory.

I know it sounds sadist but this is what India seems to be doing with the English team.

They might end up losing all 3 series on this tour.

Bump, I think in trying to humiliate England (just as OP suggested), Indian team got confused and ended up doing it to their loyal fans instead :-P

Just weird how flat pitches may make them most dangerous of bowlers look like pie chuckers and how pie chuckers can look like world beaters on a tricky wicket!

I wouldn’t look much into this result. India is still a very good side
 
I think we already had our last win in this complete overseas cycle and we are not going to win any more in any format of the game.
 
India should have won this ODI series, the captain and coach got very cocky in the last two ODIs. Not to mention Dhoni's impotent batting handed them the momentum. :misbah3

Root, Bairstow are looking in good form. And then they have Anderson and Broad. It will be tough to win a test match forget about winning the series.
 
India’s bowlers have to show up.. batting should not worry then too much but as always it will be their bowling that will be the focus. England overall is looking pretty good at the moment..

What was the whole purpose of this thread? England have a much stronger test team, Anderson, Broad, Cook will be back, that in itself is a huge boost.

India should have won the ODI series, this is a very disappointing loss.
