What's new

India U-19 [172] defeat Bangladesh U-19 [170] by 2 runs to win 1st SF of ACC U-19 Asia Cup

Another choke job by Bangladesh against India

Move on South Africa give way to the Tigers...New Chokers of world cricket at all levels

I think some case studies can be made on all bangla teams on choking

Bangladesh seem to have a mental block against India for some reason. The disease has spread to the young ones as well. :amir3

They have some problem against India. First T20 wc, then Asia cup and now u-19 Asia cup.

Looks like it is non curable too.. should try some vaccines like mental conditioning to check its passage to next gen

Let BCB explain why they were not able to persuade starsports to telecast at least the semifinals of this tournament.

Given this match was happening within Bangladesh itself, i am sure someone must have made a video of the game. Waiting for it come online

If anyone wants to check out our youngsters some of them played in u19 tour to SL this year. Replays available on Papare website.

Bangladesh!!! you got to be kidding me!!!! Was there any controversial call from the umpires against any of the bangladesh batsmaan dismalls? did anyone watch this match somehow? :uak

This Indian U-19 team bears little resemblence with the team that played in the U-19 world cup during January-February 2018. The captain of that team is already a test cricketer now !

:)) Lightning has not struck once or twice or thrice.. possibly 4 times? lol Dhoni, Binny, pandya, Karthik, Jadhav now this

Margins are getting smaller, BD is rising though and in future they will start winning against us.

I can imagine how hard it must had been for English to see India or Pakistan win against them.

You are forgetting the fact India mostly sends experimental side against BD.

They have already won 5 Odis against us

However I don't see them dominating us at any point in atleast next 10 years
They will one match here & there like they do but mostly come up short against us

This Indian U-19 team was a far weaker side than the one that won the U-19 world cup in february 2018.

Come'n guy - give boys a big pat on back. They are the only team to match IND here so far. I don't understand why people are saying it's a choke - 172 isn't a walk in the park for U19 level; it's not that they goofed up at last, took scores to 170 from 65/5 and last pair scored 9 of 12, then got run out. It's better of the two worse to fight till last & lose rather than leave the contest half way.

U19 cricket is all about finding few future potentials - we got 4/5 here, surely Shoriful, Mritunjay, Akbar & Rishad will play for BD in future, almost certainly Taufique as well, probably Nabil & Shamim also. Even if just 1-2 of them earns a decade long international career, it's a great success. These are genuinely 16-18 years old kid and most of them are new recruit for U19 level, they'll learn & grow. Otherwise we actually could have played several players who are still eligible from previous bunch. BD doesn't carry any player after one U19 WC, unless he is eligible for next U19 WC; only Tauhid is eligible for 2020, so he is leading here, otherwise players like Afif, Ankon, Azim, Pinak, Saif, Hasan, Tipu, Naim, Nayeem, Aminul .... are still eligible and they are much more experienced at List A, even FC level.

Good luck to IND U19 in the Final.

More excuses. Afg U19 already won this tournament. Was Ind u19 not playing at that tournament? Only guy who deserve pat on back is that pacer Soriful.

This was a choke of epic proportions. Judging at the scorecard this guy Shamim who seems a good bat tried for the glory shot like Mushy and got out which led to the collapse and ultimately lost on run out.

At U19 level, IND is too good - has lots of players & a very good youth system. On Asian condition hardly any team can compete with IND juniors. We are actually catching up first. You are thinking it's a choke because the game was too close, but think other side as well.

In a Day game, IND batted first, which suggests it's not a good track to bat or chase. Boys first pulled the game back from 70/1 to 172 - against any other team, IND would have reached 230+ here. Then they reached 170 from 65/5 on a sluggish wicket. If we had lost the game by 50+ margin, I think none would have any issues.

This is real surprise for me here in PP - I try to explain a game from it's insights, but more people are interested in trolling around after the result, rather than looking the context. Even in Asia Cup, I guess the Group match was better for us because IND won in 38 overs - we didn't choke; but boys fought to their last limit & lost on a leg by of last ball, defending at least 25 under per score, without their senior most bowler - that's choke.

May be, I need to see the game with different glasses here.

U-19 team for next WC will get built over next 18 months. This is start of the cycle. In the last u-19 Asia cup, we lost to Afghanistan and even Nepal. Shaw, Gill, Nagerkotti, Mavi and Porel were not playing.

Not that u19 asia cup matters, but it seems they lost to Pak by 2 runs in the last tournament as well.

This is a trend with BD. You might be happy that we are only loosing by 1 run or 2 runs, but most fans are getting fraustrating by this.

Imagine missing out on say Semi of world cup by 1 run. How fraustrating that would be.

Can u simplfy what are trying to convey. It dosen't makes sense to me

Future Mushy speaks:

“I tried my best, but we could not finish it. We are a new team; in that sense we did well. I cannot express the pain in words.”—Shamim Hossain

Yes ,but not always ,in Asia cup.final except Kohli it was probably the 11 we are going to field.in WC

Yes this team.was nothing compared to one we had in U-19 wc

Totall agree with JaDed bhai. We r becoming a cricket powerhouse. What's more pleasing is the fact that we have been playing international cricket seriously for little over 15 years. Still our achievement is quite praiseworthy. Few more years of experience in international cricket and we will become a world class team in every single format.
