India v Australia, 2nd Test, Day 2 18/10/08 Mohali

117.2 White to Ganguly, FOUR, Hundred No. 16 and what a time to get it!

117.2 White to Ganguly, FOUR, Hundred No. 16 and what a time to get it! White flights it on the pads and he works it away past square leg, there's nobody patrolling the deep and that was four from the moment it left the bat, he punches the air, flashes a million dollar smile and Ponting applauds too

Well done Punter :P

Ganguly hits what must be his second ever century against Australia (assisted by being wrongly given not out when stumped) on a flat pitch against tired bowlers.

Wow I am surprising myself how much I dislike this guy when I think about it :D

Aussies turn for crying?

Do you understand ironic humour?

Edit - this must be a complete surprise to Ganguly watchers, he gives his wicket away after getting his century. Probably too tired to be bothered batting anymore. This guy is the Shoaib Akhtar of batting, me, me, me.

119.1 White to Ganguly, OUT, Rush of blood and he's out caught in the deep, White delivers that a little wide of off stump, Ganguly makes a bit of room, gives the charge and goes ahead with the loft, it was clear from the start that he wasn't in full control of the shot, Lee takes the catch falling backwards at long-off
SC Ganguly c Lee b White 102 (225b 8x4 0x6) SR: 45.33

it would have been really ironic if he had made 146 :D

123.1 White to Harbhajan Singh, OUT
Harbhajan Singh b White 1 (9b 0x4 0x6) SR: 11.11

Crindia again showing it's bias

"Zaheer walks in, will he stick around long enough for Dhoni to get his hundred?"

Dhoni is on 67

Because they are openly barracking for India and have been for the whole series. They are supposed to be neutral. But guess not.

Ok fair enough.

Cam White isn't doing too badly. Should have bowled him alot sooner. Watching Watson though is pretty painful, the guy is clearly not international class. Aus still a chance slight chance if we can restrict them to no more than 470ish, but if Dhonut gets his ton then we focus on making Indias task of taking 20 wickets very difficult.

Mahi moves to 80, why oh why India don't name him as a permanent captain and get rid of that Jumbo Jet :batman:

Well one thing is for certain, if Dhoni can make runs on this pitch, then the Aussies should make merry for today and tomorrow at least. Not sure 'bout days 4 and 5 though.

127.3 White to Dhoni, FOUR, heads up! White pushes this a little flatter but that doesn't stop Dhoni from giving the charge, he smashes it flat and the ball fizzes past White and poor Asad Rauf, was that a bird or a plane?

:))) :))) :)))

White to Dhoni, no run, bowls seam up, pushes that flatter and faster, he pushes it back to the bowler

Someone does not want to bowl spin anymore :D
anyone remember Shane Warne's bouncer to Sachin?

127.6 White to Dhoni, OUT, quite unnecessary there, White bowls seam up, Dhoni punches a skiddy delivery to Lee at mid-off and risks the single, Zaheer was always struggling and couldn't beat the throw, Haddin whips the bails and Koertzen doesn't call for the third umpire
Z Khan run out 2 (10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.00

am surprised mishra is batting at 11 , hes certainly a better bat than zaheer and Bhajji !

This was the best pitch Lee is ever going to get on this Indian tour but still all i continue to see is 133-137 km/hr deliveries which are neither here or there. Mitchel Johnson has been the spearhead on this tour, infact Siddle has looked far more menacing than Lee. Lee i am afraid has been rubbish and cannot be regarded as a world class bowler because he really has looked a useless ineffective trundler on wickets that dont give him anything.

Hmmm you are insinuating that White bowls deliveries that spin in the first place? :))

Although I am sure India would love to claim Warne's bouncer to Sachin was because he was so frustrated he didn't want to bowl spin anymore it is actually not true. Warne bowled the odd bouncer here and there a lot of the time, althought I don't recall him ever getting anyone out with it.

Edit - Siddle denies Dhoni a hundred, India all out.

First thing Cricindia says is "was he a little unlucky there?" Some more bias with your bias?

unlucky there , but a very good knock .....to me hes one of the few players who does better under pressure / responsibilities ......hes avging around 65 as a ODI captain , so not surprised to see him bat like this here !

Yep he has let us down big time so far on this tour.

Really has been the difference between a below par score and a good one. Well done.

Ganguly cost India big time with his usual selfishness though, they looked headed for 500 +

What the hell was that from Rudi ?? horrible decision pitched outside offstump...1-1 so far umpiring decisions this game...

Mr. Lee is supposed to deliver every game, quite disappointed stuff by him so far.

Only Indian fans could be sooking about the umpiring after making 469.

And according to Cricindia as biased as hell it wasn't pitching outside off stump Romali so no 1-1 for you.

Seriously as soon as Dhoni was LBW they said "might be unlucky" then "have to have another look at that" then "he may have got an inside edge" and finally they concede "snicko doesn't indicate an inside edge, the only question was whether the ball would have hit the stumps. What went against Dhoni was that he moved a long way across and exposed his stumps".

Victorians lead the way with Five wickets in that Innings. Just imagine how better it would be if David Hussey was there instead of Watson? Anyway, Aussies have no excuses not to at least replicate Indias first innings score, unless Mishra turns out to be a Mendis.

He was starving and was in a desperate need of food.

And Bangla Deshi Spinners are causing havoc in NZ batting order they are 52/4

finish up your over fast Zaheer, I wanna see Ishant bowl before I go to bed.

0.3 Khan to Hayden, OUT, Hayden's ordinary tour continues! Zaheer pitches it on a good length outside off and gets it to curve back in, Hayden gets across but leaves daylight between bat and pad, he gets a thin inside edge and the off stump is pushed back
ML Hayden b Khan 0 (3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Oh man they are putting camera on some really nice looking Goris, really tempting man :P

He is over rated. Even Random Aussie admitted it. Frankly i just dont rate him as a bowler. He doesnt do anything with the ball and most of the wickets he has picked have been in supportive Australian wickets. Seeing him for the first time in conditions which do not support him, he cuts a pathetic figure bowling at 60-70% effort. Actually this isnt his first time on flat pitches he played against Pakistan in Colombo and Sharjah in 2002 where there was a world of a difference between him and Akhtar.

I really wanted him to do well but he has just dissapointed me for someone who everyone thinks is unbelievably fit. Well if your fit your supposed to be bowling at your 100% when you play for your country and Lee i cannot say he is putting in a 100% when he continues to bowl at 131 km/hr to 139-140 km/hr when he is easily capable of bowling at 154-155 km/hr.

Talk about surrender.
