New thread for a new day, advantage India but they need to get some more runs. Game starts in 10 minutes.

If India are looking to win this game, then we'll have to bat out a bit more longer than we could. India need to manage at least 450, in order to be on the safe side.

Lets see what the legend Ishant can do. Amidst tendulkar's small achievement celebrations, Ishant's milestone was overshadowed. When Ishant got his 2nd run, he completed a unassailable career score to 100. Well done 'Sir" Ishant.

it looks like this pitch might suit Isharma's bowling with encouragement for bounce.

Tendulkar's pic in your profile seems to be smiling wider today :D

...because he was able to convert the stones thrown at him into milestones :D

Excellent first ball from Brett Lee, continuing to bowl fantastically well.

I am guessing you missed the cover drive from Ishant's bat. That went like a bullet and he was able to get 2 runs :D

Brett who ?

What do you say about a pitch where Ishant sharma drives on the up through the covers for four to a fast bowler!

siddle traps ishant brilliantly

dada would have been proud of how ishant handled the short ball :D

dada should get a 100 here, he looks so composed.
i want to see his celebration after 100!

dhoni smacks siddle for a 66 :D
Yes, he is good on the hook/pull. I remember he took on one S akhtar in pakistan for good many and mind you akhtar was much more violent and pumped up that time

It was fun to see Ganguly practicising his awkward poke at pull/hook after missing out one

One thing about dhoni's batting is that there are no half measures to his shots. He gives it all if the ball is in his fort

:))) Poor Dhoni
Yes he is bowling in his ribs and head from round the wicket and maintaining 3 fielders in the back leg quadrant which is the max allowed. As I said before, Dhoni has million weaknesses. Why go for this extreme ploy?

To his credit, Dhoni has given fitting replies.

Probably out of ideas TBH

Man, this match is very hard to find streaming link for :(
Whats your userid? Its giving errors due to space in your username.

Dhoni playing an important innings here, he is getting runs quickly which is ideal for India.

Every time that white dude(sorry not being racist just dont know his name) says Peter Siddle, it sounds like Pieterson.

How do I Pm you the link?

Ah I don't think the PM's work here anymore.

You just post it I copy and post back and then you edit your post to remove the link....

Maybe try the bloke who gets all the wickets Ponting, that might be an idea

TBH I dont think we need quick runs. All we need is for these two play as long as they can so Aussies don't get the full chance to bat on the day 2 pitch which is superb for batting.

If Dhoni is a good captain, which is he is in ODI cricket he won't be thinking like that. He should be thinking of how to win the game. Need time up your sleeve to win the game.

LOL! When Dhoni isn't captain...he goes nice and slow. When he's captain, he actually plays quickly.

Cant remember when I saw an Aussie team last time without an attacking fielder. Dhoni has killed the Aussie attack.

Ganguly of the late 90s and early 2000's. Waste first 5 balls of the over and take a single off the last one :)

Johnson has tightened things up again. Hopefully this improvement holds and continues.

We are not going to get India out for <400 as hoped though. Looks like 450 at least coming.

Hmm, I think once India go past 450 a win is out of the question thereon for Aus. Should just wait for the declaration and then simply bat for time in their innings and ensure a draw.

Lucky we have the right man for the job - all hail Simon Katich

100* (504) :batman:

Seriously. Hussey and Katich together can draw this game and also if our one dravid gets another chance, its a sure shot draw.

But man Dhoni really stripped the Aussie bowling bare bones here. I have never been a dhoni fan but he does exhibit fierce leadership, courage and initiative.

Cricket is lot less interesting when Australia are not winning :( :D

They have had a few moral wins with body blows to Gambhir, Gangs and Dhoni.:)

Start getting used it now. It will happen more often. Soon Aussies will start losing at home as well to good teams.

For now, dont get disheartnened. I can tell you everytime I see pace bowlers from India and compare them with bowlers from west like SA, Australia and England, they look really ordinary. I have distinctly noticed good bounce and pace by western bowlers on pitches where Indian pace bowling has looked lifeless. The only time Indian pacers have looked good is when there is seam/swing assistance from weather and pitch. Going by that, Indian pacers should be lollipop for the Australians in this match. They might want to play safe to the spinners though and see what they dish.

And also remember, I was just trying to cheer you up :D

Make Dhoni a permanent Captian of Indian Test Side, enough of this Jumbo Jet :p

111.6 White to Dhoni, SIX, he goes downtown! Dhoni sees the extra flight and waltzes down the track, he carts White high over his head and that goes a few rows back, it's his fifty as well, very welcome knock by the Indian captain

Actually don't mind so much if we are losing/on the back foot. I am more a cricket fan than a fanatic Aussie fan so competitive cricket>>>>walkovers.

But I do really love winding up the Indian fans :D so probably seem a bit more nationalistic than I am.

Anyway back to the cricket, India 6/408 will be looking to bat for as long as they can. Dhoni procedes to smash White for 6 to bring up his fifty.

Where has this Dhoni batsman been the last 5 Tests we have played India?

Good stuff from Dhoni here, this innings has turned a slight Indian advantage into a big advantage, 500 on the cards now.
