Broad is probing Gambhir. Gambhir is promptly letting it go by after couple of indecisive prods.

Now i believe Dravid will play a big innings and the Indias batting will collapse after fall of Dravid and Gambhir and then Dravid would become a hero and remain in the team lol

Anderson has been out of form, they should have given Amjad Khan a chance

If Dravid plays a big innings.. chances are two more would have already played big innings lol He is that slow.

Dravid's ondrive has come back whoa.. has he found some form. That is his strength. Hope i am not jinxing him.

But even if he is in form but when is the next test match india is playing? Because Pak-India seriess is called off so when is Indias next series?

Dravid started to play a bit faster now because he is setled on the crease

Couple of tests in NZ. Then there is a gap.

After NZ, they'll be playing West Indies. Another whitewash from India here I expect

After watching him for 12 years, his execution of on drives will give you a clue about how he feels at the crease. I like to think he feels good now. That was a very good on drive for 4.

Rain forecast is for tomorrow. But it is already drizzling. Not good.

The weather was very much like this last time we were there. There was still time for India to thrash us though! Having said that we were truly awful in that game.

from cricinfo com. Another consultation between the umpires. It's dark for sure, but India are quite happy to stay out there.

India have to win that series for their credibility as a potential number 1 team.

For some reason they play there casually or run into some bowler like simon doull or tuffey and lose the plot. But to beat NZ all you need is one genuine quick bowler. He doesn't have to be good. Just bowl fast. They will just literally surrender. Sami, Akhtar, Akram, Younis, Lee, Malinga, Steyn whole bunch of genuine quicks have just blown them away. India doesn't have one.
But Dhoni is not going to take it lightly.

Did England make Anderson tour at gun point? lol He is not interested one bit to be playing out there.

lolll he didnt have issues before. I believe Harmison should be playing instead of Anderson or Amjad Khan instead of Anderson

Pietersen has ring of fielders on the off like one dayers. In addition to that there is a short cover and a slip.

I am happy for Dravid, a 50 will do him a world of good.

"jump and defend at your feet" shot was played by Dravid. Another sign of his confidence coming back.

Cricket is such a mind game. It tests your mental strength no end especially when you are not in form. Greatest game in the world :D

I've seen more than enough of Harmison. He had a couple of good years - 2004 and 2005 - and he's been picked entirely on reputation ever since. Let him spend his winters at home with his mummy, and only pick him for home games if he's producing the goods for Durham.

Nobody in the England side is less deserving of a central contract.

^^But AMjad Khan should be given a chance, I head he was bowlin really fast in nets

I don't think players like Harmison doesn't enjoy the international game as much as he should. When you retire you would want to leave a mark. I don't think palyers like Harmison has such kind of goals.

Gambhir deceived by Swann. Almost got him. Unlike of Gambhir. Mostly to do with unorthodox field set of Pietersen. Fascinating tussle.

Dravid looking like he's in his form again, at least in these innings. His defensive shots are a beauty once again.

Dravid looks more confident against Swann than Gambhir. Would you believe it. Most inform batsman and Most out of form batsman are playing together.

It is high time Gambhir starts playing shots off Swann. Overly defensive approach is going to get him sooner or later.

Last time Gambhir had a marginal call. This time dead duck was not given. Kinda evened out for him personally.

Pietersen is crazy to play this match i think. He is feeling the pinch after the throw. He could hurt himself.

It's ridiculous. He shouldn't have been playing in Chennai either. His injury is a fractured rib. No way can you bat or field properly with an injury like that. Shah should have played and Strauss should have been captain.

If Kevin Pietersen did not play both Test matches in India, everyone who not in favour of England going to India in the first place would have a field day of questions.

I think it is more to do with not aggravating an injury that he picked after he came here. It can happen anywhere in the world. He was agonizing.

Well Done Dravid 50 :) He has been sullied, vilified, satirized, mocked by his critics and common cricket fans. Not that they were wrong. But Dravid overcame all the pressure and delivered a convincing 50. Not a scratchy 50. Congradulations.

It happened in Cuttack. He shouldn't even be in India, let alone playing.

India on top as usual. Dravid looks like hes found his rythme and Gambhir is showing his ability as usual.

Could be a long day for england in the field.

Serious beating coming up for England I think.

Assuming India win this they will have won 4 out of their last 5 Tests. Granted they have all been at home but in the past India have struggled to consistently win games despite their talents.

4th test Ton for Ghambir.

Well played. Dravid snailing away as usual.

Dravid - 63* off 190 balls :28:

Well done for Dravid for coming out of his slump today it was a case of now or never.

However I'd almost forgotten the torture it could be watching him play, at least during his run of low scores there was a quick release from the pain for viewers, well neutral ones at least!

splendid effort from Gambhir.
he was not in his elements.
was a bit scratchy at times, not fluent in patches, got a life in 60's.
but capitalised on it and now looks more assured..
Good on him.

KP came out with a strategy. It almost worked. But once those opportunities were gone things started looking better for India. His plan was to block the key scoring areas of Gambhir and have his bowlers bowl on one side.

Good innings from both these two.

England have bowled well and been unlucky.

I thought Dravid played the most authoritative innings in a long time. To put it better he looked more confident than inform Gambhir as the game progressed. Despite the slow scoring (partly due to KP's strategy to block runs) he played well.

Dravid 65 of 200+ balls. Test cricket at i's best [/Sarcasm]

Glad i won't wathcing this.

He was actually scoring quite quickly in the first hour after lunch, went right back into his shell for the next 2-3 hours, though some credit to England bowlers who kept at it admirably.

India have beaten england with ease at Mohali in last two tests and i see no different here.

if they lose out on 18 overs per day because of fog/bad light, it would be more like a 4 days test rather than 5 day test. india does not seem to score quickly with Dravid around and due to the "away from off stump line" of england seamers.at this rate india will play till 3rd day lunch. england till last day day lunch. !

A timely knock by Dravid. He has just saved his career.

2.4 runs per over for the day

Guess the crowd are glad they didn't turn up
Exactly tomorrow should be fun

It's saturday and the likes of Sach, Laxman, Dhoni, and Yuvi still to come.
