Ross Taylor looks determined to make a mark with his bat as a NZ skipper today. So far very watchful inning from him yet scoring runs at pretty quick rate.
 
Decent 1st session for India after losing the toss. So far no demons from pitch and Ross Taylor is going to be the key for NZ's big 1st Inning score. A score of 400+ in the 1st inning looks real possibilty with Ross in form.
 
Goodish start by the Kiwis after the horror of hyderabad. Ross Taylor looks in good touch. But when it comes to flattering to deceive, these blokes are legendary. So the second session could well swing things well and truly India's way.
 
Heartening to see Taylor bat...when you can't defend, go and attack! Something for New Zealand to cheer...hope he goes on to make a good century here...
 
Superb counter-attacking from Ross Taylor after the lunch. Runs are leaking left, right and center. We need to find few quiet overs somehow.

If Taylor can bat for one more session, NZ will clearly be dictating terms in this match
 
Yadav back, expect the pressure of the maiden to evaporate as soon as he bowls a short delivery, which even with pace, will not bounce much and shall be pulled/cut away

Spot On. Taylor restarts his hitting form with back to back 4s just 13 away from a superb attacking 100.
 
NZ done very well after lunch. But they have to do a lot more to be in control of this match. For a start, they need to avoid getting bowled out today.
 
Yadav has been very poor since SL tour. Don't know what our Bowling Coach is doing with him. He did much better last time around when he played against Aussies in Australia and WI in India.

Yadav needs to learn from Zak. If he can combine his pace with Zak's mind and accuracy, he can be a potent threat. Till then, it's like a slightly better version of Sami
 
Ashwin strikes, Flynn gone (3rd time getting out in Ashwin's bowling in the series - all 3 LBWs)
 
:o nice turn of events in this session. Ross needs to make sure now team reaches 300 mark, anything above would be bonus!

That will be a big ask but u r right. I hope coach Joe Dawes does some work on this aspect to improve Yadav's bowling.

The Non-subcontinental teams try to sweep a lot and do it much worse than us. They try to sweep delivery and either miss it or try to sweep a flighted one that bounces and takes the top edge.

And they keep repeating it. England did it against us and the Kiwis are doing it against you (Expect the Poms to do it against you too).

The only good tourists we have now are South Africa.

Agreed. I also think he should spend time with Zaheer and also some in county cricket like Zak did. Sadly, county and IPL clash. If he's smart, he'll sacrifice one IPL for a better future
 
Dreadful bowling of Umesh Yadav continues, so many hit me for 4 deliveries from him today :facepalm:
 
Ojha continues to pick up wickets today, Franklin gone thanks to good catch by Raina @ the mid wicket.
 
Dunno why these people keep showing everything in super slow motion.
Every single possible instance is being shown super slowly which dont hold any importance and one nearly dozes off to see it through.
 
Fine fighting knock from Ross Taylor to get his 100 through a boundary. 101 off 99 balls so far.
 
132 runs came off 30 overs for the loss of 2 wickets in the post lunch Session. Ross Taylor still at the crease making it in favor of NZ.
 
Some insipid bowling changes from MSD since post lunch (over use of Umesh and Zaheer over Ashwin for some unknown reason)
 
MSD clearly missing a trick or two here by persisting with his ineffective pacers over a spinner :facepalm:
