Raina at the crease will be good as long as he lasts, as he is not the type to hold back. Quick runs will reduce the deficit and pressure. Good opportunity for Raina here to play in a crisis.

Tendulkar has been blocking too much since the first test and looks completely out of his groove. Sehwag has always been a hit-or-miss and is a lottery. Gambhir is yet to score a hundred for two years. So it is all down to the juniors to save India now.

India 168-4 at tea... here's hoping for a Kohli ton... hope I'm not jinxing him :))

look at Kohli playing that straight drive!! Wow..this kid is learning fast

If NZ can get India out by today , it would be really interesting game. Though unlikely to happen.

NZ bowling not good in all conditions, they generally get exposed in better pitches.

There are three pacers who are 21-23 years in their line up working their heart out on a good pitch... I would acknowledge their hardwork rather than just dismissing them!

Kohli! Watta playa

Technique, temperament, class, confidence n judgement - all round package for any team :)

The way Kohli plays pull shots, remind me of Ponting

I am not most active on Indian threads, its just that I have time when India is playing. I had no single post in the 2 ODI Pakistan played Australia. All boils down when i have time. :)

And age on his side... It would not be an overstatement to say he's the MVP in cricket now

Yes it would be, what does he average now? 40?

Cheerleaders need to calm down, he is a gun ODI bat and a promising Test bat. Might need to average somewhere near 50+ first. A run of good form does not MVP make.

PDTM: "I hate Indian pitches. They are dead, and actually cause defensive captaincy. The only real way to take wickets is to spin the ball away (or both ways), which doesn't give everyone a chance. Bored."
