Thats because we are the biggest losers in the world. What disturbs me about this side is not the fact that they are losing but its the way its been losing. There is just no confidence in the side, no self belief, nothing at all. All the aggression that was in the squad before 2004 is just gone.
We dont use Afridi as an opener even though he is best when the field is up and is given a licence to lay into the attack. Our batsman six hitting abilities and slogging techniques are just pathetic to say the least. This Indian team has deserved to win because apart from beeing the stronger side on paper, they have played to a strategy and have tactics for each and every Pakistani Batsman (they way they bowled today in the final overs was proof enough).
Their batsman have just proved to be too good for our bowlers barring Akhtar and i think it was a horrendous blunder to exclude Sami from the team. This is the problem with our team, when Akhtar was out we overbowled and depended too much on Asif and now Asif is out we are depending too much on Akhtar. Misbah role in the batting order needs to be revised, he is consolidating when we need the big hits, yousaf isnt the same batsman as before and has sort of lost the ability to hit the big shots in the slog overs.
We are definately missing Razzaq and i am sure he must be delighted at our predicament. Anyways i think Malik cant use the excuse i am new to the job please forgive me, because Dhoni was given the job only a few months ago, and Dhoni has not only led from the front but he has shown more attacking instincts, better tactics than Malik and Malik should just go and drown himself because Dhoni is less experienced than him. If he isnt upto the job, he should be man enough to resign and hand the job to someone who really wants it and will do it.
Lawson has to face some really tough questions now. We have seen no real improvements in the bowlers, there is no infusion of any attacking aussie mentalility in the team and the team looks so tactically unsound that i just feel ashamed to even watch them play. There are going to be strong repurcusions now.
