Consistency mantra was just to keep Shan Masood. Others are expendables.Apparently 5 changes expected
So much for squad consistency Shan and Gillespie
Ihsanullah hasn't recovered yet. Many Pakistani pacers have returned from injuries as weaker bowlers, I hope Ihsanullah comes back strong. Junaid Khan for example never regained his pace and form after injury, Shaheen is going the same way, he hasn't been the same since that injury.England provided a blueprint to Pakistani think tanks on how to take wickets on a dead pitch. They brought in tall, lanky bowlers who consistently bowled short deliveries and hit the deck hard to generate bounce. We need similar bowlers, not ones who prefer to bowl half-volleys for easy pickings. Where is Ihsanullah? Has he recovered? He was looking like an amazing Test prospect before his injury.
It'll take them 4 days if they even tried to but they wont be able to survive that long in the first place.I want Pakistan to win the toss again. It will be fun when they bat first. Will they go after 800 just to be safe?
Add Naseem and Hasnain into that.Ihsanullah hasn't recovered yet. Many Pakistani pacers have returned from injuries as weaker bowlers, I hope Ihsanullah comes back strong. Junaid Khan for example never regained his pace and form after injury, Shaheen is going the same way, he hasn't been the same since that injury.
He'll still be better than 99% of bowlers in Pakistan right now.Can we take him on rent to represent Pakistan in Test cricket?
Yes , but you have to take chance with turning pitch , there is no other way.Although I think Pakistan can bounce back by playing on a cracked up pitch with their wily old spinners, it is not a guaranteed route to victory. Leach, Bashir and even Root are all more than capable of taking big wicket hauls of their own on such pitches; and they have in the past.
Gillespie looks like he wants to give Aqib Javed a tombstone piledriverTeam management and selection committee members are inspecting the pitch for the second Test.
This. Especially when that 4 man attack is not particularly threatening anyway.Agha as 5th bowling option means PAK will once again struggle to picks wickets ! Any latest pics of pitch ?
ENG might have 2 changes - Stokes & Rehan for Woakes & Bashir .
This is great news for Pakistan. A Stokes who can't share much of the bowling workload is a liability.England Men name XI for second Test v Pakistan
Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum have confirmed England will make two changes to their team to face Pakistan in Multan for the second Test
England Men have confirmed their XI for the second Test against Pakistan, which is set to commence on Tuesday in Multan.
Seamers Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes are rested.
England Captain Ben Stokes returns after missing the last four Test matches. He has fully recovered from a hamstring tear, which has kept him on the sidelines since early August.
Durham seamer Matt Potts returns to the side for the first time since the Lord’s Test against Sri Lanka at the end of August.
England's XI for the second Test:
1. Zak Crawley
2. Ben Duckett
3. Ollie Pope
4. Joe Root
5. Harry Brook
6. Ben Stokes (C)
7. Jamie Smith
8. Brydon Carse
9. Matt Potts
10. Jack Leach
11. Shoaib Bashir
Rizwan isn't performing in test because test isn't his format. Nor is odi. Just like Bradman, He's a one format t20 specialistNo need for Atkinson now that Bobzy not playing
Carse and Leech still there to torment Rizwan hahaahahahhaahhaahahahahahahahahaahaahhahHhHH
And this is the first time they are doing it thank god they are using their head this time always play spinners vs sena thats how india does it.2nd Test lineup for PAK has been announced
Abdullah
Saim
Shan
Kamran
Saud
Rizwan
Agha
Aamer
Zahid
Sajid
Noman
So PAK are playing only 1 seamer and 3 spinners . Interesting.
India usually plays 2 seamers bro . There were reports of some protests in Islamabad possibly shifting the venue of 3rd Test to Multan as wellAnd this is the first time they are doing it thank god they are using their head this time always play spinners vs sena thats how india does it.
Ye paagal ho gaye hainThe men’s national selection committee has confirmed Pakistan’s playing XI for the second Test against England, starting in Multan on Tuesday, 15 October.
Decent team by England. Joe Root's pretty useful as a third spinner in the subcontinent.England Men name XI for second Test v Pakistan

Thats a great decision finally they are playing 3 spinners thats the way to go vs sena teamsYe paagal ho gaye hain
3 spinners so expecting the pitch to turn. Better chance vs this England lineup but if spinners are not accurate it will be another massacre.Ye paagal ho gaye hain
They need to replace one spinner with a seamer.Ye paagal ho gaye hain
Lol no not that 120 ks thunderbolt bowler. He is not needed.I can't even begin to comprehend this brain-dead decision to not play a single specialist pacer. If Shaheen and Naseem are unavailable, play Mir Hamza who has done modestly well in the few chances he has gotten.
If the pitch doesn't provide enough turn, England could target 1000+ here.
If I was English batter i would dump my helmet. The men’s national selection committee has confirmed Pakistan’s playing XI for the second Test against England, starting in Multan on Tuesday, 15 October.

It’s just an example.Never expected even the slightest hint of Iftimania from you man.
These really are crazy times in Pakistan cricket.
Fast bowling heritage officially deadThe men’s national selection committee has confirmed Pakistan’s playing XI for the second Test against England, starting in Multan on Tuesday, 15 October.
We only have young darters not young spinners in our domestic cricket.Sajid tinda averages 38 in test cricket and that zahid garbage has average of 37 in first class cricket.LOL
PCB should have given opportunity to younger spinners
Sad but true , PCB has officially declared that we don't have any test class pacers anymore. This is an acceptence from think tank that Pakistan no longer has any international standard pacers
Am I reading it right ? Just one fast bowler ?The men’s national selection committee has confirmed Pakistan’s playing XI for the second Test against England, starting in Multan on Tuesday, 15 October.
Damn this must sting for Pakistan fans. English fan saying how much chance Pakistan have in winning a test series in their home. But yes England are a very strong side. Especially on flatties.Reusing the pitch is quite a good idea to be honest. 3.5 day game and more exciting, also gives Pakistan a 30% chance of winning whereas on another flat road it would have been 2%.
Yea root is quaking in his boots.Sajid Don is on his way to Multan!
Now who will save Harry Brook and Joe Root??
Obviously they're going to reuse the first test pitch as hail mary to try and get spin from day one. The issue is that if Pakistan lose the toss, England will get first use of what's already a fifth day pitch. Sure it's been dried and maybe rolled but that's still only going to keep it in shape for a day or two.How can they convert a pitch to turn in few days?
I can only think that he's playing on Sindh quota. Can't be anything else. He has very ordinary stats and always gets taken for plenty. In all honestly he can be much worse than Abrar.Zahid Mehmood has a T20esque ER of 6.94 in Test cricket.
And we're banking on him to contain England's Bazballers.
disastrous selection. The men’s national selection committee has confirmed Pakistan’s playing XI for the second Test against England, starting in Multan on Tuesday, 15 October.
looks like Nomi.Who will share the new bowl, this selection is mind boggling
England are done if it spin out what do you reckon pak are finally playing spinners?A spin fest!
Expect to see a lot of sweep shots from England, a lot of boundaries, a high scoring rate, and maybe some soft dismissals.
This is great news for Pakistan. A Stokes who can't share much of the bowling workload is a liability.
Yep. But it's left to be seen whether this pitch/square do allow for reverse to occur.Stokes can get reverse though. That was missing from the 1st Test with Chris Woakes famous 120kph dobblers.
You guys are the last people to have a pop at us about pace when your history is laced with medium pacers.Land of Pacers
Except Hasnain , none of those guys have even half a chance of being a Test class seamer. You guys are the last people to have a pop at us about pace when your history is laced with medium pacers.
Ihsanulllah , Wasim jr , Zeeshan zameer , Hasnain, Kashif Ali etc are still there but injuries and mis management are causing issues.
In your entire history you guys only had 3 fast bowlers with over 250 test wickets. You speak as if you had 25. In the last 20 years we have been clearly betterYou guys are the last people to have a pop at us about pace when your history is laced with medium pacers.
