And to think we all thought they would get 1000 runs and declare. They haven't even made 700. Don't expect much from the Indian bowlers, they're not that great so I'm expecting SL to score at least how much India did in their first innings.

Should I run and get my TV device fixed to hear Gavaskar moan?

I think I'm going to do that.

Expertly pitched 12" outside leg stick first up :14:

Who cares, he got a wicket and Indians cant go to the excuse anymore "ZAK was not playing so our bowling looked toothless"

Lets see how special exactly ZAK is.

Vibhash from India: "People expecting a result after first ball wicket - hold on. In that 952 runs test match, India declared on second innings and claimed Atapattu very early. But after that........So just wait and watch."

I see, there are some sane Indian supporters too. :14:

16.2
Ojha to Paranavitana, 1 no ball, less turn this time after pitching on leg, turned towards backward square leg, a no-ballcalled by the square-leg umpire possibly for having three fielders behind square leg

Ok Indians can't even figure out where are they fielding

I like this...it was "test" cricket :) --->

spin on day 2... if lanka dont score many in first innings i expect a win

Bugger. I wanted India to score 1100 with all players getting a ton. That would've been funny!

Ive done that on Brian Laras cricket before on my playstation ;-)

these batting tracks are ruining test cricket
try and catch the match live.... the ball has started to grip and spin with variable bounce .. this pitch would be disastrous to play on from the 4th day

Sri Lankans need to bat sensibly and they will draw this match very easily. Yes there is some turn but nothing major.

:)) Did you watch the match today?
what is the point that who wins the toss bats for day and half and then pitch breaks. I understand winning toss and batting first in India is the way but this is not a good pitch. Let's say SL is able to bat all day on Day 3 (when it is really supposed to break according to someone here) and only lose 5 wickets then what

Take your complaints to Sangakkara and their fielding who dropped Sehwag in the first over and played one fast bowler! :)))

:))) :))) Googly posts. :))) :)))

It is not a good pitch, pitches like this are rubbish because the toss is 60% of the match.

wowww!!! what a session this is turning out to be for india !!!!!
although i'm not happy with the fact that its monkey sreesanth who's taking the wickets :(
but i'll take it anyways :D

4 Down Lankans, I thought this was a flat batting track ?

It is definitely turning now. This is a good subcontinent wicket. Nice batting track on the first & most part of the 2nd day and now the bowlers have the upper hand, bringing the spinners into play.

Lol, that makes it a bad track. Team that wins the toss wins the game.

You missed my point. I would care less who won the toss. If Srilanka would have won the toss and India was at this situation losing 5 wickets...so be it.
At least I am watching "test" cricket where the batsman's real character & temperament comes out. My point is that it's a decent turning wicket now...nothing dangerous. You cannot expect pitches to help the spinners from the first day itself.

Why is Brad Hogg in the commentary team? :13:
I think he has replaced Bruce Yardley....I miss Bruce.

And that doesnt happen on extremely green tracks where you win the toss, bat second and end up winning most of the times. those are supposed to be great tracks, aint it?

Errr a green track comes around about once every 3 years in Test cricket these days. But would love to see more of them all over the place.

Stop defending your useless boring pitches that even most Indian fans hate. The toss is everything on Indian pitches and it just spoils the contest, very hard to lose if you bat first with some good batsmen. Is like when you play x and o and get to go first.

Sri Lanka going to get hammered here. Pretenders.

That's a good analogy but you can easily draw if you play the center box :D

I think we should bowl the Lankans out and BAT again quickly get another 300 and set em a target of 700 lets add more misery on their bowlers..ALso hope SRT gets another 100 while we crush the Lankans :D it would make it that much sweeter...

I remember India winning a match here after losing the toss

That would really be a pointlessly pointed hundred. :D

I wouldn't want India to bat again. Sure, it'll be entertaining if it happens, but I'd rather prefer enforcing the follow on which will give us more chances of a victory.

Pointless to other fans maybe but I am sure how his true fans feel is whats important to SRT.... Amen... As his true fan I want to see another SRT 100 goddammmmitttttttttttt...............

5fer for the mallu kid, he made me happy today after I really wanted to knock his head silly for his crying incident...

Oh wait isnt this supposed to be a flat wicket ? wonder why a quickie is getting wickets here can anyone help me out here ?

Incidentally, the kid now averages 29.90 with the ball. Quite rare for an Indian bowler to average below 30, isn't it ?

As Googly said he is only a spinner. Did he bowl at 150+ ?

Spinner Sreesanth takes 5 for on a travesty!

:)) I knew that was coming.

But I guess any batting lineup will feel the pressure in this way - do you think SL would have scored the same if they had played first?

Not if they have batsmen who can score pointless centuries. :D

Well a century today would NOT be pointless.

One must appreciate the art of fine bowling...good line and length by Sreesanth :14:. Some lose shots by the Lankans too ;-)

but its not our mistake.. our job was to play well.. which we did !!!
but yes the pitch must behave similar for the 1st innings of both the teams i believe.. else it all comes down to luck rather than ability :akmal :inti

we've owned lanka so far!!! damn cool :D

I think you are being too nice here....obliterated is a better word.

Probably not - the pitch wasn't turning so much and wasn't a dust bowl on the first 2 days. ;-)

Srilanka 229 A.O.

Will Dhoni enforce follow-on? Hopefully yes, unlike recently when he gave the excuse of tired bowlers.

Plan very well executed by SL... now they have tricked India to enforce the follow-on, all they need is to put 600 runs on the board while the pitch is not so horrible and make India bat on the last day...

Muahahahaha.....
