Are you serious? PP Test Match threads would go into meltdown!

PPer1: *** are these 2 doing?
PPer2: ZZZZZzzzzzzz....Boooooring!
PPer3: 78-0 off 20 overs - Useless
PPer4: Hope these 2 get out and Afridi comes in at 3
PPer5: Why isnt Imran Nazir in the squad?
PPer6: MOYO **** off back to ICL

etc etc

Yeah, Oxy you are right but, sometimes quality overcomes quantity...

We have an abudance of 'stroke making players' (more time spending stroking their hair I think) but, no players who grit it out and play a proper test match innings

Only one who came close was Asim Kamal but, he was done away for a certain specialist middle order lassi-making nephew

I had a vision that Pak top order would bring in someone along th 'Dravid / Kallis mould' to bat 'boring' in test matches.

But PPers prefer the 'crash, bang, wallop' approach - that invariably leads to us being 23-2 off 4 overs, and that is preferred to a score of 87-1 off 27 overs....

Well with Khalid Latif/Khurram Manzoor your vision may be realised but, that depending who is standing next to the gulotine 'opening-batsmen' machine

Dravid is my favourite Indian batsman of all time. A great example to show youngsters how to play the game ....the real game that is..........Test Cricket............not mickey mouse slogfests of the 20 or 50 over variety.

Good to see Dravid back in form and showing his class. Looks like India will be happier of the two teams at end of day 1

what a batsman Dravid is! Words simply can't explain what he has been doing in this fame indian batting line up. Another failure of Top order, another challenging and fighting inning from real Mr. Cricket.

This is what test cricket is about SL made the new ball count but india counter attacked brilliantly.
I loved the way dravid approached his innings and We have yousaf and Younis who have been good at building an innings and scoring big in last 5 years.
I would like players like Umar manzoor and fawad learn how to construct an inning and score big hundreds from two Ys.

OMG what happened? We had them on the rack!!

Brilliant knock from Dravid, can't praise it enough.

He honestly looked down and out a year go, good on him for fighting it out.

This is exactly why I (most of the senseable cricket fans) rate Dravid 10 levels above Sachin. Dravid always scores under pressure --- wheras the Sachin always chokes at a difficult time.

Man --- what a knock by the best Indian batsman! :14:

Amazing knock by Dravid. I know this post was a bait but will take it just to make you feel better. Sachin has scored multiple times in similar or worse situations.

Ok now since thats out of the way. it was a very. very good knock by Dravid, one of his best and most fluent and at the right time for India. Hope he gets 200 or more

way to go R"Wall" D...

congrats and keep it going...

the only indian player for whom, i would trade any pakistani player to get him in my team...

love test cricket..this is whats its all about..fight baby..

:))):))):))) that is SO true! 'I'd rather have an entertaining 8 off 2 balls compared to a match saving 200' etc etc

But how the hell did they come back from 30-4 to over 350 for 6?! W T H!
Its Bangalore all over again!

just like we came back from 41-6 a few years back against India...

plus R"WALL" D was there....a legend....

From an Indian forum --- a Dravid fan relpying to a Sachin-fan's comment about Darvid's innings today;

By a Dravid fan said:
Doesn't fit my made up parameters of what a good innings is or not.

* It is not against South Africa or Australia
* It wasn't a fourth innings fighting century
* It was on a Monday
* It was not on Port Elizabeth
* He wasn't captaining the team
* He wasn't celebrating his 20th anniversary
* Vaas wasn't playing for SLK
and of course
* He used up all the hot water. What's the point?

:)) :))

For the same reason, I feel Dravid is a much better player than Tendu. But tell that to Sacchin's fan, or indian media.:)

We had a golden chance to pound the hapless Indians into submission yesterday but strangely enough we lacked the killer instinct to put them away. We'll have to do it the hard way. Who cares if Dravid scores a double ton, if Murali can run through the tail we can still keep them to about 420 or so.

I don't see Lanka saving this match

lol...Murali has not been effective and this year has not been a good one for him. Well you guys will have to be on your toes, otherwise 500 is on the cards...but dream on..nothing wrong I say.

Taking 20 wickets on this pitch is going to be hard work.

We have the world's greatest FTB in our team. Thilan Samaraweera. Greater than any of your FTB, in fact was named FTB of the year in the ICC awards.

Get the debutant bowling to Harbadulkar!!

Nearly there boys, fire them out for 420 and we are in business!

Awesome bowling from Wedegara to finally get rid of Dravid after an epic knock. Well played Rahul! But now we can run through this feeble tail!

As a true and genuine fan of Srilankan cricket I find that offensive. Samarweera is a true hero who faced bullets for his love of the game. Please show him respect.

;-)
Save us from Wannabe Lankans

Put Murali back on to get rid of these cowlashers! We need to roll them for under 420

Never thought I'll see the day when an Aussie will barrack for Myurali.

BCCI is to pull out of Indian team ou tof this series after Zaheer khan was given out when the ball was going down leg.

Zaheer gone! Cowlashing #1 down, two bunnies to come

CricIndia at it again. The OBO commentator is cheering against us! :po:

102.4 Muralitharan to Harbhajan Singh, no run
102.3 Muralitharan to Harbhajan Singh, no run
102.2 Muralitharan to Mishra, 1 run, comes out a bit and then slog-sweeps a nicely flighted ball out to deep square leg
102.2 Muralitharan to Mishra, 1 run, hah! Harbhajan gets outside the line early to sweep but then tries to play a reverse sweep to the doosra, but not bat on ball and it ends up lodged in his pads
102.1 Muralitharan to Harbhajan Singh, 1 bye, again he goes to sweep one turning down the leg side and trickles it to square leg

Time for some shots now, Bhaj. Come on.

Sharma's out in the middle. Is he holding the bat upside down?

And the MIGHTY AND TALL ISHANT is :out for a duck. Mishra left stranded on 7, 93 short of his century. India rolled for 426, about 300 more than we would have liked but we have a good batting lineup. Hopefully this doesn't end up as a draw, at least India didn't hang around too long on Day 2.

Russel is keep on going with "dilshan knows only one way and that is to go after the bowler" in 2 overs he has use that about 4-5 times...lol

37 for no loss. Dilshan and Paranavitana making Zaheer look like a club bowler!

It's MIGHTY AND TALL ISHANT'S turn to take the punishment now.

The MIGHTY AND TALL ISHANT doing his best to continue his LOI form, going at 4.40 per over.

0/48 not great signs for the Indian bowling here

We look like we're set for a century stand here

From CricIndia:

Manikandan: "We cannot blame the Indian bowlers so much. It is obvious that the pitch has eased out and is very flat. Even Sri Lankans couldnt find swing and seam with the second new ball. I think Bhajji must be tried more."

The MIGHTY AND TALL ISHANT strikes 1/74 after 16.5 overs. Sri Lanka look good for 300 off the 50 here.

Yes they do that in every match involving India. And people wonder why we call it CricIndia.

1/92 after 20 overs and the commentator is barracking hard for India. Suddenly 426 doesn't look so hot.

Sri Lanka motoring, going quicker than Pakistan were in AD.

Some more Cricindia bagging - the headline was "Ishant strikes after steady start"

They are going at nearly 5 an over you goon. :))) Steady?

well back in the day Dravid was my fav player from this side but when he faded away i forgot him and now he showed again that he is the best player for the SOLID WALL job. after Bevan he is the best Wall of his team. back bone. he plays very sensible and mature innings and his cover drives are treat to watch. so good to see srilanka on the attack. just watch highlights and dilshan looks in great touch, hope sri wins this one, they have a chance to win with great batting order to come. hope sanga stays there and shows his class aswell/

Mishra getting a Bryce McGain here, going at 7.44 per over.

Again seems to be just me following when SL are on top :batman:

I dont get it how the hell can a spinner keep bowling no balls by over stepping ? we need Sanga rest of the batting should fall quick...
