they just showed him on tv ...he was telling a story about how murli lost a tooth trying to push him and when he push backed, murli lost a teeth..
 
SL should have taken advantage of their wicket-keeping situation. They should have played with 6 specialist batsmen with one or more of Sangakarra/Dilshan/Jayawardane Sr keeping.
 
We need a wicket bad if we are to keep India below 100

I dont get it why theres no kulsekra-thushara-mendis. these 3 r srilankans best weapons along wid murli and im shocked to see they are not in the team WHY? 2 new bowlers got lucky today got quick wickets of top 4 but in 2nd innings it will be difficult for them and also i hope murli n herath takes the rest of wickets.i wish srilanka wins

4/156 good recovery. As much as it sticks in my throat to say so.

The YUVI might be a little too aggressive now, considering the match situation. Living dangerously but runs are runs.

Correct am I. For all the talent this guy has he has no cricket brain at all. The situation calls for the batsmen to stay at the wicket, occupy the crease and try to bat for 2 days. Starts trying to play T20 in the second session of the first day and now India are 5 down and :wasim is going to have to run riot to give them any chance of winning the game.

Couldn't happen to a nicer team though. :D

Short ball from Prasad, no surprise poorly played by Dhoni. At least he didn't try to headbutt the ball for a change.

So whats the pitch played like so far? How have the sri lankans bowled? or have india just batted poorly?
 
Dravid stuck on 87...he's nervous now. Couple good overs by Murali.

The first hour there was good swing and the batsmen struggled as usual :D
After lunch it has become a good batting track now...and Murali is trying to get some spin. So it's been a good combination so far.

Prasad has been impressive and hitting the deck hard consistently with average of 140K. Welegedara did the damage early on...Murali is being Murali...I guess.

Indian batting you ask - it was a treat to see them collapse in the first 45 minutes :)), but it's been a good comeback so far.

5/212 scoring pretty quickly. But need Harbadulkar to chip in with a hundred as well. India will want to scramble to 400.

Incidentally, the trend of India starting Test series poorly continues....

His estimate might be off, but he has a point. How would Bradman fare in a variety of conditions, against different countries, and against all the video scrunity as well as the pressure that is part of being a cricketer. I think he would probably end up with a mid to low 60s average. Hes clearly ahead of the rest of the pack, but I dont think he would average something in the 70s....
 
Dhoni is a real good batsman. You have to work really hard as a bowler to get his scalp.

I am sure he will with time lift his "poor" test average to above 50 provided they play many many tests in subcontinent.
 
Man I think we should declare, it looks like we have enuf runs to hand Lankans an innings defeat for this one :D.

Well to be honest this is a useless discussion. He played in a totally different era and was miles ahead of rest at his time. That's what matters; how you play against bowlers/cricketers at your time. And everything change with the time, the way cricket are played today is way faster than at Bradmans time.

Mate seriously its all good winning the ODI's etc & Sri Lankans might pull out the unexpected but chances are quite slim. You should know how hard it is to beat India at home, have you forgotten the b****C slapping we recently gave you in the test series ova here :D...
 
A whopping 385 for 6 for India at the end of the day's play after tottering at 32 for 4 and looking like they were waiting for the knockout punch to be delivered. Largely due to Rahul Dravid's behemoth 150 plus innings and he is still undefeated.

Advantage India at the end of the first day.
 
Nice 100 from Dhoni...Dravid still going strong and Harbhadulkar looking to get his 1st test 100 :D
Some folks here were dreaming of wrapping up the Indian innings under 100, must have been a nightmare for them.
 
After being 30-4, the Great Indian Wall helped India make the highest score for itself in 1st day of a test match. Ofcourse he pwnd a lot of people here too I see :)))
Hope Dravid gets his 200 tomorrow.

Brilliant knock from Dravid, can't praise it enough.

He honestly looked down and out a year go, good on him for fighting it out.
 
Oh how Pakistan could do with a Dravid-esque player in their ranks...

Criminal to leave him out in the ODIs but, his true worth is highlighted in test matches...

Although, your tendulkars, dhonis, sehwags, yuvrajs get most media attention, but, Dravid is in a class of his own and plods away in the background...
