I am pissed off that he got out at the wrong time with 15 overs to go. Now Raina and Dhoni have to settle down.
 
a 350 score highly likely though, and a winnable one unless Jaya goes berserk

Under lights ball will move around. We can never rule out that possibility though. Dilsha is bound to come good.

Great, now we'll see Dhoni poking and stabbing at the ball for 12 overs. Has to be the ugliest batsman in international cricket right now. Completely devoid of any class or elegance or even style. Gone are the days when India had genuine, classy stroke-makers. Now they have Raina's and Gambir's.

Watch the Indians froth from the upper lip now and quote the ICC rankings and statistic X in comparison with statistic Y, cross-referencing player X and Y to get the desired results.

Just to help you guys out in advance - we know he's the number one batsman in the world according to the rankings. However, he's an eye-sore. He's done an Indian and changed his game from free-flowing to not flowing at all. He stabs now. At the ball. With the inside and outside edge of his bat./

its not this game only. Dhoni entered the game as a big hitter - carefree, influenced by the likes of Afridi. But he retarded the fire that was in him (could be a genetic thing). It might get him more not outs, and an inflated average - but its boring.

And mature. India often had problem with finishing the innings. He paces it nicely with percentage cricket. It works for him. It should work for him. After all he is the captain. He will cop the blame if he gets out playing an irresponsible shot. He is a clear thinker. When needed he will step up.

i looked at pathans profile - it says "half-brother" I Pathan.

I thought they were proper brothers?
 
Pathan is my player to watch in 2009, Dhoni has lost the 'it' factor that made him a star.

Dhoni gets his much sought after "not out". No doubt the praise will be piled on him for playing the "ankle" role and "captains knock".


Basically, Pathan has put this out of the reach of SL. Otherwise they still had a chance.
 
The top 3 batsmen from Sri Lanka hold the key to any chance that Sri Lanka might have, Jaya, Sangakarra and Dilshan, who needs to get off to a quick start.

Yuvraj is better to watch than Sehwag provided both the players are in full flow.
