Comparing Zaheer Khan and Wasim Akram

Game evenly balanced and is effectively a one inns match now. i wouldnt be shocked if India bowl out aussies on day 4 and have a run chase on day 5.

I guess i was right with my comments at end of day 3! :jm

216 is a tricky chase in the 4th innings. Hope that Hindustan falls short of the target.

Cricnfo's stats editor S Rajesh: "If India win, this will be the biggest fourth-innings target successfully chased this ground. The current record is 144, which India chased for the loss of one wicket against England in 2006. The highest fourth-innings score in all Tests here is New Zealand's 251 for 7 in a drawn match in 1999."

interesting stat this

We gonna win...we gonna win :yahoo
Yup me counting the chickens before they are hatched.

Mark Ramparkash: Ian Gould is the best umpire in the world...

today has not been a fair reflection on Ian Gould's abilities. he is actually decent. but definitely not the best. that would be Taufel, Dar or Tony Hill.

in the meantime, woeful decision by Billy! Billy is not very good at all. but he tends to get away with it with England fans, because he gives us most of the decisions :danish

Umpiring today has been a joke.

But then we have to blame ourselves for saying no to UDRS.

what a joke, this is getting worst every moment

What is the count now on bad decisions ... 7 to 1?

Even if you dont count the inside edge, that ball hit GG's pads and was going half a foot outside the off stump!!

First Gould gave one LBW for a ball pitching half a foot outside leg stump and now this, besides a number of other errors today. Umpires have not have had the best of days.

gambhir decision was the best decision ever in the history of game....lol...i dont care...i just want india to lose....i hope sehwag scroes a bif andaaaa

yaar..u should respect umpires.....i love umpires...

Again, not enough runs.

We have enough to make it interesting but not enough to win, unless someone has a blinder with the ball.

match in australia bag! scoring runs on this pitch on the 5th day seems impossible

Hilfenhaus bowling poor lengths again which did against Pak too.

Disappointing given he was so accurate in the Ashes a year ago.

Bollinger seems to only bowl well when he either has crowd support or a target to aim at in the final innings.

Ponting better find a way to motivate the big man outside of those two situations.

I actually rate him the highest out of the Australian bowlers, but not a bad thing if he is losing his lengths considering who we are playing next :amin

He has never bowled here before, it will take a while. I also doubt India would suit him anyway. But I agree with Whippy, I think he is our best bowler.

Dravid was the key. Fancy the Aussies to win this now - especially if they can add Sehwag early as well.

Here is CricIndia for you:

"Slowly, he turns back and walks away. Must be disappointment at the loss of his wicket as there was an edge"

If that was an Australian batsman they would talk about the dissent shown. Clear as day.

Pitch seems to have gone a bit difficult...

afraid that I don't really rate Bollinger or Hauritz at all. but Hilfenhaus and MJ, as I've said earlier, makes for a potentially awesome new ball pair. they just need to start turning up on the same day.

well, now this partner ship will decide the fate of this match.. if Aussies could get Sachin or Sehwag back in to dressing room early, match will be in their pocket.

we still have Sehwag, SRT and Dhoni, and even a one-legged Laxman might be able to do a job. still fancy us to chase the runs.

That's alright, I don't rate Anderson or your 3rd seamer either. :D

I also had Hilfenhaus down as Pak's biggest threat in the recent Australia series in England. He's been nowhere near the same bowler he was in the Ashes after returning from his long lay-off, on the evidence of what we've seen.

Maybe he will settle back into international cricket but he didn't really swing it against Pak even at Headingly.

In Australia, Bollinger is a tough prospect against the new ball.

looks like this will be an evenly matched Ashes, both teams have overrated batting lineups, poor captains tactically, good fielders, 2 quality bowlers and 2 ordinary bowlers

India 31/2

A couple of Half centuries here should set them up to get this total.

Swann will be the difference.

Ponting not won a test match in India as captain, and this is his 6th attempt. surprises me, I thought they won a series there.

Under Gili, Ponting was out injured, came back in the last match and Australia lost that test. :D

I think Gilly was the captain on those winning matches. and Ponting returned almost spoiled the series victory :) :)

Australia have a good chance now as Laxman is injured.. Good chance for Raina to seal his place in the team.

Dare I say get Tendulkar out today and Aussies may be just slight favourites tomorrow.

Australia bowling lot of short ball, difficult pitch to play short balls.

raina will get lot of short ball,Our stupid cable is not showing this.

13 free runs already given by australia... That could make thé différence...

12.5

Johnson to Tendulkar, no run, 147.0 kph
Johnson bowling fast, raina is a goner.
