Are there many Indian fans like musaarthali? Because IMHO that sort of attitude is endemic of the wider problems in Indian cricket at the moment.

Looks like it, at least on PP. Because Indians here are always on defensive doesnt matter how terrible India play.

It will be interesting to see which is worse in the upcoming PAK - IND series : their bowling or our batting :))

Again BCCI have a big job in hand here. They must try now to minimize the number of home tests also and increase the frequency of t20 leagues,so that all of our great fans here still continue to make heroes out of a absolutely pathetic team.

There was a guy named as Michael bevan from Australia who hardly got any recognition in his period though he would easily make into any world 11 one day side even now.it was simply because he could not play in the ultimate format of the game.

nowadays when i see people like yuvraj, raina, dhoni etc treated like demi gods here, clearly shows the sad state of affairs.

If we lose this match which by all indication we will Dhoni needs to step down immediately as the test captain. Losing overseas is one thing to be humilated in your own backyard is unacceptable. He either should step down and or be sacked this losing attitude is getting very tiresome.

p.s What a wonderful knock by Alastair Cook, he is definintly up there with Amla, Clark and Kallis as one the best batsman in the world.

i am sick of waking up and checking cricinfo headlines to see cook on the front page... its time we saw sehwag or kohli on the website meant for indians..

Sachin needs to announce his retirement after we lose this test match and make the last game is his last. I know for his fanatics the 73 is like a series win but any rational Indian team fan would realize that what is the point of him continuing anymore? He is not getting any younger he has achieved what is there to be achieve he has seen enough losing in the 90s and now in the twilight of his career he wants to be embarrassed like this every single series. Bow out with respect and call it a day Sachin.

It was a scratchy innings at best. Since then England have shown what the pitch is really like! Agree that it is all over bar the shouting for Tendulkar.

First hour Eng would like to negate the Indian attack and after that look to score heavily.

I think he is aiming for his 200th Test cap :farhat

India has to get at least 3 wickets in this session to get back in the game. Not easy but they have to.

this pitch is going to be a mysterious now...English batsmen needs to be careful..

Our chances of winning this test and the series is as good as gone.

Out best chance is to play for draw but that requires good batsmanship (we are already carrying too many deadwoods in batting lineup, so even that is not a real possibility). It looks like yet another shameful defeat (like Mumbai one) is on the cards for us.

England has once again(like last year home series) proved that it is miles ahead of us in terms batting/bowling and fielding.

Loads of rebuilding process remains for us as a Team(especially with pace bowling and middle order batting).

I am liking this traditional English batting. Take the first hour slow, wear down the bowlers then cash in. I wish my team could do this, they try and hit the first over of the day over cover....

Guy at first slip with shin guards and a chest pad? :)))

Dhoni, you suck

If something goes wrong for Dhoni he'll do it again and again till he prove it's a good move. Sometimes it's good but it all gives the impression he's not willing to rectify his mistakes.

265/1

Feeling sorry for India here. Innings defeat on the cards?

LMAO at India already.

Did anyone just catch Sehwag's slow motion dive at midwicket that managed to turn a 0 into a 2.
'He went down in instalments there' - Bumble :)))

England trail by 50 runs with 9 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Eng should wipe up the lead by Lunch , and cash in the next two sessions.

150 for Cook, 50 for Trott and 100 partnership as well. Keep it going.

agree

Collapse around the corner...wait n watch

I'm afraid it's too good a pitch for England to collapse. Even if they do it won't be the usual collapse it'll be something like every batsmen getting starts and throwing it away.

Pitch showing some bounce now, Finn could come into play in the second dig hopefully.

The last time Cook was dropped, he scored over 120 runs. Will he make good on it again?

If Cook hits a ball straight to a catcher, where does it go?

To ground.

Frankly these dropped catches just show how much we are missing Dravid and Laxman and not just for their batting! Also dropped catches indicate demoralisation and this team just does not believe in itself @ test match level even at home :( So we Indian fans will have to get used to this kind of thrashing for the next god knows years until the next set of a few good men come along :(

Dhoni is an obstinate animal , he needs to bring in plan B , when Plan A not working. maybe get few overs from part timers.

It looks Eng will bat till lunch tomorrow at least, there is no reason why they should not.

England needs to ramp up the pace. Need to be 550 by the end of the day to have enough time to bowl them out if it still remains flat.

Farnoosh: "Pujara is wary that captain cool might loose his cool anytime now, hence protecting himself with all the protective gear he could lay his hands on."

Ishant now the recipient of the Barmy Army song. Not as good as the Mitch one, because Mitch had pretension of being good, and the song predicted (caused) his demise. Whereas we all know Ishant is rubbish.

Still, this is getting into humiliating territory.

wats the song?

That's why I'll never rate Mitchell Johnson no matter how many mildly favourable numbers the stattos throw at me. He had his Test career effectively ended by a song. Incredibly weak creature.

Ball turning sharply now, might get interesting....

This is good to see though. With 9 wickets still on hand, if England can pull a 200 lead with the ball acting like this, they'll have a great time tomorrow.
