You know, without so many posts I'd know for sure that you're a troll.

But perhaps you're actually a serious poster.

I heard there was some disagreement between curator of this pitch and Dhoni. Can someone give details? Also, is it the pitch to blame for Indias dismal performance in this match?

lol at the criticism, from some of our own no less. Quite astonishing.

What's wrong with scoring 80/0 on an edgy morning of Test cricket?

The Indian bowling averages for this series are tremendous value.

Zak 62
Ashwin 76
Sharma and Harby don't have one due to not taking a wicket

:)))

I critisized SA as well for same reason....

This is test match cricket, not that other rubbish.

Test match cricket is about attrition, grinding down your opponent. Getting your team into a dominant position.

That is exactly what England are doing to India. India are down and the English are keeping them there. They will tire the bowlers and take advantage at a later stage.

It is great test match cricket, at it's original best.

Lesson now complete!

I have seen TEST matches which was won by team batting faster when they had upper hand..

All the matches go like this why people come to ground and watch.

Any way let us see what will happen in next session

Spot on.

The average IQ of cricket watchers seems to be falling by the day. No disrespect.

How is Ashwin even staying in the squad? Absolute twaddle from him

He can bat. Pujara aside, he is the only bloke usually good for a few runs. And they dont want a skinny young guy, they want someone who fits the waist profile of the Indian team.

England only need to bat once here - they need to knuckle down and bat for the next five sessions.

This is a series.

England demoralised India in the previous test. They are continuing where they left off. The momentum gathered by England in that win and what they are doing now, is going to have a major impact on this series. Momentum in test match cricket cannot be underestimated. India are in deep deep trouble in this series.

We saw the same in the recent series between SA and Aus. SA gained the momentum in the 2nd test (fighting draw) and then went ahead and totally dismantled Aus in the next and last test.

It's almost sad that you have a point. With 30, Ashwin has one of the top Indian batting averages in this series.

I'm criticizing the rate because I don't want to have to bat for longer than up to Lunch tomorrow. With so many wickets it hand, I'd be willing to be less cautious and a touch more attacking. This pitch is so dead that while I would expect a 250 lead by lunch tomorrow to be sufficient, it could also make it a draw.

Me thinks they'll reach parity and then open up.

Sometimes it's useful if Trott gets out when the deficit is erased, so a more positive bloke comes in.

Trott is a highly effective player at number three, particularly when batting second. He struggles to set the tempo in Tests or ODIs and never really knows how many to score when batting first, but if the other team's runs are already sat in front of him he loves to better them.

The run rate will increase the second one of these guys gets bored and retires.

The three slowest players in the England team are the top 3. England should be aiming for 800 here.

they can take their team, one and a half day is enough for them to bowl india out.

England have to be careful here because the tail is quite longish this game. Cook and Trott must grind more to ensure a minimum lead of 250.

150 partnership pretty slow but that's the need of the hour. Don't India comeback into the match.

Pitch has spin to offer.. Just need good bowlers to exploit it.. Looks like swann will be more successful than monty in india's second innings, pitch will suit his style of bowling..

:6

Cook hit a SIX! DAMN!

to put it into perspective, this is Cooks 9th Six in his 86th test match

Siddhu saying cook ne paka diya aur bell ne baja diya :)))

Wickets of Swann, Cook and Panesar in his last 135 overs. Very very poor series for Ahswin but Ojha bowled well, not in this match though.

Some people were already claiming him as the new spin wonder! :ajmal

okay so England has passed India's total without loosing wicket..cook class as usual and trott also regained his form against this world class bowling...335/1

This pitch is nowhere near as flat as the Indians bowlers are making it look.

the real massacre will begin now...wish KP hits ashsh*twin for six sixes an over

Trott gone after a good knock, blessing in disguise though. Lets see if KP can do his magic.

I think it is flat..England bowlers bowled well
It's been spinning all day. Quite a lot.

Trott and Cook weren't completely fluent - quite a few deliveries hit the edge or were mistimed.

Bowlers haven't been good enough to extract as much turn as they should have.

really need another KP special to put England into a real commanding position (not that they are not already but...you guys know what I mean).

Indian fans really cheering KP on lol

KP looking scratchy, not good for us. We need a quick inns from KP. He usually switches off after getting a big knock.

I think if England can get a lead of 120-150, thats good enough

The pitch is starting to spin more with uneven bounce, think batting conditions will only get worse

300 runs lead will be very good and declare at lunch tomorrow.
But that might not happen as the ball has started to spin...
Need at least 150.
