I thought India will thoroughly dominate Saffers in the final game and will send them back to Johannesburg in utter shame but I've been extremely disappointed in India for this substandard performance with the bat once again in the series.

Not so impressive captaincy by Amla. Why would go with a part timer instead of ur specialist spinner in Imran Tahir?

India's batting in tests is rather ordinary. Dhawan and Rohit don't belong here

Says a Bangali whose team is certified minnows staring down the barrel in world rankings, you've the audacity to question Indian players, the likes of whom Bangladesh won't produce in next 100 years.

India will be bowled out soon and then S.A will lose the usual 3/4 wickets early before close of play.

I somehow think South African batsmen will come out determined in this test match and also pitch will ease out as the match progresses

Ravindra Jadeja is the next Kapil Dev, the guy is a fighter, I expect him to score a 50 today.

Good recovery so far, lets keep it going, take the total to around 250 which is more than enough for Saffers to choke under pressure in the first innings.

Very unconvincing argument against DRS from Sanju baba in the comm box while Bhogle going silent throughout that conversation (Only Polly was making some sense)

Ashwin's batting average is 31.08 in 32 matches. For a number 8 batsman thats very impressive.

Most of his decent knocks were a while ago. His avg used to be 40+. Hasn't played a meaningful knock in a while.

I hope these guys last long enough to let Rahane get a century. Roit and Dhawan are useless hacks. Stick to t20.

Good day for India who have a massive total already on day 1 in these conditions, dont understand why S.A left harmer our and picked Tahir instead who overall is a useless test bowler.

Kohli seems to be a little past his best. Anderson has rattled him. Think he has fallen off the current top 5 test batsman list, he's now just a little below guys like Steve Smith, Joe Root, Joe Burns.

Joe Burns?? ROFL stuff. He is a Shane Watson Ver2.0

You should address the message and not the messenger.

South Africa bowled well today, this pitch is 420-450 runs type pitch.

Yah, pitch doesn't look very difficult to bat, but that was the case even in the 2nd test and we got out with 220 runs.

Mindset of both the team's batsmen is like that, they forgot how to bat on a not so difficult pitch.

This is going to be the closest of all matches. Historically, FSK is the best ground in India to lose a toss. Normally, you win toss & bat first in India, but I have seen teams losing more matches batting first than 2nd. Probably, winter morning evens out the 1st batting advantage in Delhi.

If SAF can clean the tail with 2nd ball under 250, they should have a great advantage. FSK is one of those grounds, where batting in 3rd innings is often tougher than 4th.

Selectors need to make a call on Rohit and Saha.
Neither are good enough for test cricket

Based on the reaction to the dodgy lyon call i guess SA already have the moral victory wrapped up in this test after the dodgy one that saved ashwin.

Doesn't matter how SA bowl or bat from here it's all the umps fault apparently.

Did you mean Kane Williamson?

Sorry but Amla is a fool of a captain! Why select Tahir if you're not going to bowl him.. Captaincy 101

What score will be enough for India to take a first innings lead? Justcrazy

I believe 350 is a good first innings score. Any batsman who shows grit can score runs here

Why not try Tahir? Getting part timers but afraid to try Tahir? Amla did the same mistake in previous test.

Can someone please knock some sense into Amla? Don't know what he's waiting for! Reminds me of Dhoni..

So Indians added 70 runs before Amla woke up and then Tahir gets the wicket finally.

How would faf work as test captain? Has he ever captained at first class level?

Do you think there will be scrutiny of Amla's captaincy after this tour back home?

I do think that it should be done. You can't have leggies for short spells and don't allow him to settle and then keep him away despite having him in the side.

I don't know, but worth a try for sure. Amla is losing plot at times and AB is a lousy captain.

Gallant fightback from India, wow, 140/6 to 308/8, simply remarkable, Pakistani tail can learn a thing or two from their Indian counterparts, look at how they facilitated Rahane to get to his 100 holding the other end. The moment Pakistan has 5-6 down on any batting surface, you can bet your bottom dollar that their lower order won't last 20 more runs which is unacceptable in modern game.

Pakistan tail is laziest in the world.

Doesn't matter who gets captaincy role after this series, SA will remain mediocre Test side irrespective of leadership, they just don't have the tools and assets on field to triumph anymore.

Their golden era is done and dusted, will be having a free fall in Test rankings and deservedly so, they've been left unexposed and unchallenged for far too long, fate has eventually caught up with them, will be ranked 7-8 in the near future, can't see them lasting in top 3 anymore.

In all test matches so far , SA have lost initial advantage , poor bowling and captaincy.

LOL, we will be closer to the top than bottom even with this side.

Its not about laziness, its technical incompetency that proves to be their downfall, Pakistan has the worst tail in Test playing nations. They might as well declare every innings when they are 6 down, no point in wasting your or opposition's time and embarrassing yourself in the process. Their 6-11 is a complete and utter joke, can't even hold a cricket bat let alone executing a proper shot. They are just separated by their assigned number in the batting order otherwise they all possess the same ingredients to be called number 11, how can you win Test matches when you've 5 complete liabilities with the bat in the lower order who can't even defend properly to save their lives? Think about what would transpire when Pakistan tours England next season, doubt their innings will last 2-3 more overs in seaming conditions when they're 5 down, there is no hope for Pakistan, 4-0 on the cards.

Well played Ashwin for 50. Rohit Sharma should be dumped after this game.

By lazy I meant they never work on any aspect of there batting or bowling. If you want to improve you need to work hard.

They take things for granted.
