Oh Lord! excuses upon excuses, clutching at straws aren't you? First it was the unsporting pitch and now DRS, and what would've happened if India did get bundled out under 250? Would it change the complexion of the match after clueless SA batting? Stop this nonsense, all you need is burnol!

That's another thing..but dumb umpiring did help India get the upper hand as it has been in the whole series. Umpires make dumb decisions whenever the Indian team is in trouble.

Ashwin doing well with the bat and the ball. Its about time we had a Ashwin emoticon.

Then on this forum people are bashing that our players can't play pace and swing my question is the modern greats AB & Amla @ Faf can play spin?our performance was much better when we last time toured SA,there were a couple of centuries and. And came very close to winning the 2nd test.i am very confident that we will perform better in Eng this summer compared to what SA have done in India.

Let's set them a target of 500 to chase on a day 4-5 pitch.

We need 287 runs to achieve that

i guess india want their fans to see a game go to day 4 atleast for 1st time in the series so no shock they will bat again, they could have just crushed S.A again inside 3 days if they wanted, seems long drawn out torture on its way for S.A

Indians are really spinning a web around the SAs !!! They will probably not enforce the follow on, just so that the match can go into the 4th day .... at least. That way the ICC will not have to look into the pitch reports.

its better for rohit to take rest and work on his temperament............

Last time an India No. 3 got out on a 1st-ball duck in Tests before Rohit. Laxman had got a golden duck in Adelaide in1999.

This has being a Humiliating series for SA , this is the point from downfall will start.

Boring and uninspiring batting from India , they should have rather enforced a follow on than put on this snooze-worthy display.

Er which matches have you been watching? Umpriing decisions have gone mostly AGAINST India this series

They should just look to bat 4 sessions here. Kohli,Pujara need batting practice . These guys have forgotten how to bat in a test match .

Useless innings by Dhawan, what was the use of this innings? He was batting as if India were trying to save the test.
We were 213 runs ahead ffs.

India embarrassing themselves with this effort.

Both sides have batted really poorly.

Can't blame the pitch for it.

Such are our batting standards these days. Giving wickets away even when we have our foot on SA's neck. If they can't bat now I can't see them scoring runs under any pressure whatsoever.

The pathetic defensive approach is to blame, DhaDwan's and Pujara's innings cannot be justified.
This is where the loss of Sehwag has really hurt us, he never let the pressure get to the middle order, always provided rythym to the innings. Dhawan is just a big bore to be honest.

In India I prefer watching our bowling in tests than our batting. It was unimaginable to say this 5-6 years back!
That's how much we have fallen.

Pujara's habit of getting clean bowled frequently these days, is a worrying sign. He is no more the hyped up beast that supposedly slayed spin bowling few years back.

A spinner bowling a no ball is unforgivable... He wasn't close.

kohli what the hell :)))
looked like you needed a crane to get him off the field there :))

kohli and Rahane are such an upgrade over Dhawan and Pujara.
Dhawan and pujara were putting people to sleep, already run making seems much easier with these two out in the middle.

Rahane is much better to watch than Kohli and yet its Kohli who gets all the attention...

So true..just the vibe we see is so different.. The class is so upgraded and very much visible too. It's as if a funeral has turned into marriage party.

One more reason why I don't rate Pujara above neither Rahane or Kohli.

What happened ?

He was given out caught behind off tahir, there was no edge though. Kohli just gave the umpire a stare and stood there for quite a long time before moving, then the umpire checked the no-ball and it was in fact a no-ball and kohli survived.

Interesting stat, even with M Vijay having a quiet series he has been the highest scoring Indian

Why compare Kohli to Tendulkar, it's not even close in Tests...

Kohli and Rahane have added 1000 partnership runs between them in 21 inns - only Indian pair to achieve this since Rahane's Test debut.

I was commenting on the failures of Dhawan and Rohit. Should be axed ASAP from the test team.

Dhawan can be given a longer run based on this test. I thought he actually changed his game well to adapt to the bowling/surface. In such low scoring games, slow 20's and 30's by openers are extremely useful.

We gave Rohit a very long rope in ODI's and it paid off, might as well give it a shot in tests too (especially since we play most of our tests at home for the next year or so.)

Dane Piedt been so ordinary in this innings. Compared to his bowling on a first day pitch and third day pitch bowling has regressed. Lol at thread on him as the next world class off spinner. He too looks Tahirish. Great one day, Ordinary another day. At least Harmer is a consistent bowler. Paul Harris kinda bowler. SA is better served by that kind of slow bowlers given their quick bowling resources

Yeah we gave Rohit alot of chances when he was younger and yes it paid off in LOIs but I don't think he deserves more chances in Tests. Someone like KL Rahul might do better with all those chances. The pro lem with persisting with these guys is they will ,eventually, score a few runs in home tests only to be exposed once again when our next set of away tours start. Can't just think short term.

Don't forget Shreyas Iyer is blazing Ranji Trophy for second year running with 800+ runs. Remember its always difficult in your second season but he has gone one step ahead and bettered his first year performance. He is almost scoring runs at 100+ strike rate. And also his runs have come in different situations including difficult fourth innings run chases. It's Sehwagish. You can't keep such a talent away from the team for long. Actually Rohit too admired him when they batted together for Mumbai in a recent Ranji game.

Yeah I was thinking if Shreyas Iyer as well. We need to blood youngsters in home tests
