Ashwin bowls one of his best ODI spells and still goes for 31 runs in 8 overs.

No support from other end to sustain pressure.

This is one of the reasons why even good Indian bowlers have averages that don't reflect their true ability.

Eg - Kapil, Zaheer, etc.

To give you an idea, Ashwin averages 20.xx this year in tests.

Why?

Shami, Jadeja and Bhuvi had created real pressure. Not to mention Ojha.

When bowlers hunt in a pack, everyone's average becomes better.

When they don't, even the good bowler's average gets messed up.
