Anyone following the match? Chahal, Rahul and Nair debuting for India today.

Some strong words from Ntini at the press conference: "We want to compete with the big boys. We're creating a new venture here. We want to make sure that this country gets to play more games, and if you send us a team that is not your strongest team, we're going to put them under the carpet so that they go home and tell people that they need to send their strongest team."

India, better perform!

I'll be closely checking the scores. Zimbabwe winning a game or two would be fun...

lol.which farig people are watching are watching this series anyway?

Bhai.. weekend, India playing. You will surely find people watching.. Just as I say street cricketer has confirmed he will watch :))

From cricbuzz -

"Ambati Rayudu needs 48 more runs to reach 1000 runs in ODIs. His average of 45.33 is only behind Virat Kohli (51.51) and MS Dhoni (50.83)."

Beast:kohli

Hopefully a good series for Manish Pandey and KL Rahul while bad for other batsmen.

Who is the telecaster in India?

Reply soon bhai..I'm gonna miss the opening overs..

India have listed Manish Pandey to open with KL Rahul, with Karun Nair, Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav completing the top five

Please let me know as soon as you find out. :uakmal

It says star sports in the internet. But it seems like even the channel people have forgotten about the series. I'm seeing the highlights of England Sri Lanka test in Star sports now..

aise matches mei dou chezou mei mza hai.either zimbabwe winning it well or india beating the hell out the zimbabeans.i hate that "but they put a fight" stuff.no one is gonna watch mediocre cricket whole day for you to put up a fight.either bang or bust:)

This must be the most inexperienced XI India have fielded for decades. Good to see so many young guys getting a chance.

Oh my god this is so bad.. couldnt they have afforded better commies? These guys suck so bad as it is the crowd is pretty thin and match quality ain't the best atleast get decent commies for viewers..

Kl rahul, the only world class prospect in this new batch of kids.

He reminds me of myself when I bat.

Three Karnataka players are in the top order! If they had roped in Mayank Agarwal and Stuart Binny as well, it would have been mini Karnataka Team. (Chahal also plays for RCB)

Watched a fantastic Euro game on TV. Watched Messi live for the first time in my life and he scored a hattrick. Now watching this. Strange day so far

Sran is clearly the worst fielder I've seen. He's been dropping catches all year

In the mornings at Harare the ball will seam around. Pitch generally slow and gets better as day goes on.

Come on Chigu, 12 needed in 12 balls. You can do it, yes you can complete your century, but a half one.

India, better perform!

A very silly thing for Ntini to say. I would have expected more maturity from someone who I used to be a big fan of.

Zimbabwe don't even have the 'B' of the big boys club. But for the BCCI's largesse they wouldn't even be playing international cricket.

I am still wondering why exactly is Dhoni playing in this series? His insecurity has robbed poor Samson of a full series

Zimbabwe has been playing "competitive" cricket from so many years (way before Bangladesh) Been playing since Sri Lanka were also considered bit of minnows and were playing when South Africa were not part of world cricket. It is saddening to see their lack of progress (at least Bangladesh make lots of noise and win odd games/series) At one point they in fact had a decent team (Flower brothers, Campbell, Streak, etc) They used to shake up India & other teams (full fledge sides and not B,C sides) at home! Anyhow they should be lucky to face India C Team here (that will only stop them from getting exposed to stronger teams)

Its ok.

It will speed up the inevitable I hope.

I don't understand how the team management think Rayudu has a future in our LOI team.

As if Rahane wasn't enough for LOI.

Listening to Sunil Chhetri's analysis for Euro pre match seems more exciting than this farce of a match 😓

Just observe the footwork difference in KL and Rayudu.

That should be addressed to selectors! They are the ones who are going crazy, who knows they may see the scoreboard at the end and collect some valuable inputs :))

Very boring match, atmosphere and commentary. On top of this, there is this asura-mokkai batting from Rayudu.

Just saw glimpses of this game via DD national.

Good to see Rahul learning the job of carrying on the innings! He learnt a lot from Kohli in IPL. He should definitely replace Dhawan if he shows this kind of perseverance (along with his class & technique & his IPL-found strokeplay!) And if he somehow takes the keeping job seriously, it is goodbye to Dhoni! (Early days anyhow)

This match/series is tailor-made for DD :))

Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, there is hardly any match worth watching on the TV, these days (didn't follow IPL, much this year)

WI tri-series played on awful slow low inconsistent tracks is another bore-fest.

Watching Eng vs SL now, even this is pretty much one sided (not making for great television viewing).
