Gujarat can stop RCB. They can match RCB's fire power also they've better bowling attack than RCB. Come on Raina.
 
Easy win for RCB as the match is in Bangalore. They should thank SRH for giving this opportunity. Doesn't matter whether they bat first or bowl. They are going to win this. If they bat first, I expect the score will be around 220 and then GL to get bundled out for <190. If RCB are chasing, I expect Kohli to hit another ton.

My predictions are: RCB win the first playoff. SRH win both the playoffs. Close contest in the finals maybe going RCB (home support as well). RCB (and Kohli) deserve a trophy.

If RCB bats first, gayle has to fire or they lose. shane watson should also come to party, had a abysmal IPL with bat. One more thing, I am wary of, is kohli playing carefully to achieve the 1000 runs milestone which I am sure he won't.


If GL's top order fire, it will be a tough for RCB to defend any total they put on. This makes today's toss very crucial.
 
Sun is beating hard. So it will be no help whatsoever for bowlers! RCB bowlers should be on target and RCB batsmen should again punch above (ABD should come up with one of his crazy innings today because this is not a knockout game, so he should not be in any pressure actually :)) He can actually avoid one knockout if he gets past today and leave it for Kohli to handle the finals, that will be perfect! For law of averages I want Kohli to not perform today and others perform, so that Kohli is reserved for finals :) )
 
Seriously people, you don't get fed up this thing? It's been months I see a thread here daily on IPL with a few people commenting on it.

Even this thread repetition has bored me. :usman

I think BCCI is understanding this, I am sure they will shorten this event and conduct twice/thrice in a year. I think this is the only year where people felt it longer (because of series of T20 events this year). From now on there will lots of T20s being played (internationals as well), so BCCI will try to avoid the redundancy and make it interesting.

TBF this is one of the closest IPL in a long time till the end there was a chance for top 6 teams to qualify.

No, this is our summer carnival. Actually many males will feel bored what to watch on TV after coming back from colleges/ offices from next week.

I know people who get depressed for not having IPL anymore after May every year. Honestly it is lot of fun in the evenings for whole family.

But whenever there is a big tournament prior to it (World Cup ODI, World Cup T20) it looks a big long and exhausting. It is getting interesting now as knockouts approached, but it took a dip in the mid-part of the tournament.

It will be good for IPL if the duration is reduced. There was a long series of T20s before IPL this year, so should've been reduced this year at least.

Yes, that's a good logic and believable too. People like to get entertained after their work.
 
RCB bowlers have to just make sure that the score is below 190 to be on the safer side. Batsmen will fee the pressure of huge chase in big matches regardless of the pitch and bowling attack.
 
Oh nooo....final few days of IPL. Have to wait for 1 long year for the next one :(

Good start by Arvind! Good move by Kohli to start with Arvind instead of Binny. He wants to give the best new ball to the man who can swing a bit. Kohli's captaincy has improved leaps and bounds (including his body language on the field while fielding/captaining I mean)
 
Interesting decision of Abdullah and he picks a crucial wicket

I am so disappointed. First, RCB are chasing. Second, Gujjus are going nowhere. I expected they would put up a score of around 200 and thought of seeing Kohli, Gayle, ABD special.
 
Gujarat is eyeing 200+ and faltering (the scare of Kohli and RCB Batting :)) )

Meanwhile Kohli is utilizing an average guy iqbal to great effect! I am really confident of his captaincy now! (I was the one among the critic) IPL has helped
 
Two dangerous right handers and it was a very thoughtful move indeed (left arm spin) and the guy did spin the ball (credit to him)

Absolutely brilliant captaincy by Virat here.

First of all, bowling Abdulla against the behemoths that are Finch and McCullum.

Then having a slip for Finch, and now keeping the pressure on the next pair.

Raina gone! Wow! This is wonderful captaincy backed up by even better bowling. Take a bow RCB bowlers! :))
 
RCB on top. Pathetic peformance from baz raina and finch. Middle order under pressure now
 
If KL Rahul can improve his keeping like anything, he can be a serious threat to end Dhoni's career. If somehow he can stretch it to Test Matches (where he can even come down the order) it will be such a deadly balance to Indian Team!
 
Looks like a sticky wicket that we saw during Ind vs BD WC game. 160 could be a tricky score

So much criticism for Bangalore Pitch! (It is in the center of city so cannot be extended. But certainly variety of pitches can be expected here! Lots of Test Matches being hosted here from long time) So its better to accept and treat this stadium/pitch as it is (It is one of the various forms available in India) I saw one guy criticizing Bangalore pitch/stadium in Cricinfo and calling Nagpur as better (which gave terrible start to India in the World Cup :)) )

KSCA should build/renovate a huge stadium in Mysore as well (this city has highest tourism appeal as well)
 
Chahal is having an off day (No worries) Pitch is easing up maybe :)
 
Both these guys in the wicket are good enough to post a decent total, RCB should not relax

If Smith stays till end, Gujarat can aim 170 as well. RCB should be alert

Hey I never complained. I merely laid out my observations. I love Nagpur pitch by the way. The curator's a genius and can turn the pitch from a green mamba to a dust bowl in a whiff. In a world full of flat tracks, Nagpur just stands out and as a fan you gotto love it.
 
Watson is doing such a good job here. Even though his contribution for RCB is not heavily significant, but he has tried his heart out as usual.

Fair enough, every pitch/stadium has its own essence. Just short boundaries and heavy runs doesn't mean that pitch/stadium is bad. New Zealand is full of such stadiums and at times cricket looks more interesting there compared to Australia (Even those NZ pitches can give full array of scores from low score to huge scores)
 
This should now be easy for RCB. Kohli would have accepted 150 as target with closed eyes before the start of match.
 
Good that Kohli persisted with Chahal even though he was expensive. It paid off. Glad to see Kohli becoming so matured as a captain so quickly! The only thing that selectors (Indian) should make sure is provide him with best bunch of players without any zonal/regional politics/corruption/lobbies. He can get frustrated as he is the guy who leads from the front and expects the same from others. It might have worked with Dhoni who could utilize bits & pieces players to good effect.
 
This Jordan dude is just an hyped up entity. I have not seen any noticeable flare in him as yet in this IPL (at least in his bowling)
 
Love this umpire, hes always wrong and when he gives someone out he tries to make it look dramatic therefore looks incredibly stupid :D. 2 plumb lbws not given.
 
Gujarat have fought back well. Although I think gujarat and RCB bowlers just want to test kohli chasing ability again :msd :amla
 
Kohli's over excitement almost resulted in a missed opportunity
 
Atrocious scoring card to say the least,RCB should chase this easily unless they "bottle" it out like other seasons.

None of that is true. Nagpurs been the same for 3-4 years now. Its gren mamba days are long gone.
 
I knew Kohli would get out for a less score today. He is saving another ton for the final.
 
RCB top order fallen like a pack of cards. Gonna need an ab special with a contribution from Sachin baby :uakmal
