Ahmadabad is the worst place to play day-night cricket. Completely favors the team batting second.

RCB needed 190 to have a safe score. They underperformed against a struggling RR team.

RR youngsters stepped up in the absence of Buttler.
 
RR shattered the dreams of RCB by forging their way into the Eliminator 2 by a 4-wicket victory

Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals managed to restrict the in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru batting lineup to a score of 172/8. RR got off to a steady start with Yashasvi Jaiswal putting up strong stands with Tom Kohler-Cadmore and captain Sanju Samson. However, RCB pulled things back in the middle overs by dismissing both Jaiswal and Samson in quick succession. Dhruv Jurel was then run out thanks to a world class effort by Virat Kohli at the boundary. RR ended up needing 58 off the last six overs with Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer in but RCB still seemed to be the team on top considering the way they were fielding and the mistakes the batters were making while running between the wickets. But in the end the fireworks from Powell helped them get over the line.

RR tried their best to lose (look at Sanju's and Parag's faces when they got dismissed), still RCB could not capitalize... SRH will beat RR, and KKR will beat SRH in finals to lift the cup... Unless RCB changes the management and concentrates on finding good bowlers the story will continue... Next year they may not even reach playoffs...
 
sick of this LOOOOONG tournament - should have been over by or before 10 May - 14 games a side & 66 days is crazy nonsense !!!

RR need to change their xi little bit.. they're wasting Burger there.. they should drop Powell for Burger and Avesh for Shubham.. Open with Dhruv and Jaiswal.. TKC comes as finisher.. that's their best xi on current scenario..

Burger got spanked in the early games. That is why he got benched. Powell offers more than Burger with his fielding and all round abilities.

Anybody is better than Avesh. So doesn't matter who replaces Avesh.

TKC is overrated. Saw him in PSL too. Nothing special.

Lol, if the viewers are getting tired, fatigued, imagine what the players, officials and commentators are going through?

Either BCCI will need to reduce the length of the tournament by having more double headers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday or Squads will need larger pool of players so that they can allow for rest, recovery but even may not be practical after a while because of the do-die nature of a lot of games in the middle.

More than physical, it is mental fatigue... I am not sure how the players are going to gear up going into World Cup immediately without any kind of rest! Hence the tournament should have got over at least 15 days back... Either have more double headers OR reduce the number of matches...

Alternately they can have single round robin and play it across all the venues distributed across the country and build an algorithm like a given team plays at least some fixed home matches...

To compensate for the so-called financial losses they can bring back champions league (a bit longer one held in other half of the year) and play it in INDIA only (As BCCI is keen to make maximum money, I am sure even other boards will send their best T20 league teams to share the revenue). It will be bonanza of cricket-quality for Indian Viewers as they get to see different raw/domestic talents across the globe in addition to seasoned International Players... Maybe even a team from PSL can sneak in too, as BCCI/Govt. of India have no issues with Pakistan playing ICC matches in India...

OR simply split IPL itself into two parts and play it twice in a calender year (and probably give a different challenge to players by organizing an away IPL in different parts of world - but adjust the timings to Indian Standard Time). In this way a team (like CSK or MI) can boast of winning two different types of grand slams (an home & an away) while RCB can continue winning nothing even with more chances :LOL:

Abhishek plays some real brainless shots. Gifted his wicket away. He could've easily tucked that ball to legside for a single. Instead he went for a glory shot. He needs to work on his shot selection.

RCBish batting by SRH so far, hopefully they should finish well with some extra runs... Also Chennai pitch & outfield won't be as cruel to bowlers in second half compared to Ahmedabad...
