Also timid defensive captaincy from Shreyas. He should have finished 4 overs of Starc. If Starc got Klaasen it was game over..

KKR has one grip over the title (they must surely be in finals! I don't think SRH has the bowling to counter-attack!)

160 could've been defended on this pitch. SRH has the bowling to do it. But they look like they are 30 runs below par.

Sunrisers Hyderabad 159

Kolkata Knight Riders (13.4/20 overs) 164/2

KKR won by 8 wickets (with 38 balls remaining)

Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer both slammed half-centuries as Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets to reach the IPL 2024 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Earlier, Mitchell Starc took three wickets, Sunil Narine took two, while Andre Russell, Vaibhav Arora, Harshit Rana, and Varun Chakravarthy claimed one each to bundle out SRH for 159. Rahul Tripathi was the top-scorer for SRH with 55.

Quickest chases in Qualifiers/Knockouts in IPL - By balls remaining

RCB is batting first after losing the toss! Not sure what is better on this pitch!

RCB vs RR, Eliminator at Ahmedabad

Toss Update:

Rajasthan Royals elect to bowl against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

It will take a heck out of RCB to win this match (previous match and WC Finals are evident why its easier to bat 2nd on this pitch...) Anyways they have already done a tough job overcoming CSK in a crunch game (which they mostly faltered in the past), so it might be not that extremely difficult to get over RR who are not in form...

Highest avg for a batter at a venue in India in T20s (400+ runs)

74.0 – Virat Kohli, Ahmedabad
71.9 – Shubman Gill, Ahmedabad
62.3 – David Warner, Hyderabad
62.1 – Heinrich Klaasen, Hyderabad

RCB just need to be cautious in between aggression in these initial overs... It may not be a 60 in 6 overs kind of pitch (in first innings), but they should make it count in the middle and slog overs... They should be happy to be at 40/0 in 6 overs...

No improvement in his bowling. He looks chubby and his action is awkward. It is unfortunate that he has represented India many times before. He is not good enough to be on the D-Team.
he is our Hasan Ali , only saving grace being he does not spit around as much . Green at 3 - surprised ....

off topic , this Puro ad running non-stop through IPL telecast , like the way this babe Keerthy bobs her head around - pretty lady . Chahal on

A very poor start for RCB. No demons in the wicket. Still only scoring at 8 RPO.

If not for Avesh Khan's trash bowling, RCB would be going at 6 RPO.

Chahal flukes another wicket. That should have been deposited in the stands.

Now Chahal will flex his pencil muscles.

good point but Green must not play the anchor role [ 3 off 6 ] , 56/1 in 7
Probably was worried about even the 2-3 balls left off Boult (sometimes you may get out the very next ball. Green been an Aussie they felt probably could negotiate it)

Chahal as usual is getting spanked.

I hope he does not play a single game in the T20 WC for India.

RCB over celebrated the last victory!
I saw some video where they behaved badly with some CSK fans. I was rooting for RCB to win the title this season mainly for Kohli. After seeing the rude behavior of RCB fans, I changed my mind.

Boult spell was the key (up front), he avoided at least 20 runs in the powerplay...

Don't see any bowler in RCB who can match Boult. Swapnil is the only one who can come bit close, but spinner in powerplay against dew it will be really hard... RCB miss a good frontline overseas seamer as they always do!

180-190 will give fair chance for the teams... Anything below that it will make RR the favorites! KKR or SRH would have fancied chasing even 200+ against RCB bowlers on this pitch! But with RR there is slight chance!
