CSK biggest mistake was losing one of the winnable game against LSG. They kept on playing Shardul Thakur each game.

Dube ne CSK ko duba diya.. Is this gonna be RCB's tournament? Women's team did it, can Men's team also do it this time?

Siraj is not a T20 bowler. Year after year, he gets destroyed in IPL.

He is lucky to be in the T20 WC Squad.

C'mmon Lockie....bowl yorker on off stump.

Will party whole night if CSK goes out tonight

:kp

RCB has such a mediocre bowling attack. Its a miracle they are even in contention for the playoffs.

RCB makes its way into the play offs with a crucial win over CSK

RCB have been here so many times that it must feel routine - needing to win their last league game to qualify for the playoffs. They seemed to have done enough last year, when Kohli's ton took them close to 200, only for a masterclass from Gill to overshadow it and knock them out. Once again, RCB were asked to bat first. This time they never let the intensity down with the bat and, at the halfway stage you felt, batted CSK out of the contest. Yet Ravindra and then Jadeja at the end with some Dhoni magic kept CSK hoping, only to be denied. Is this the result Dhoni's IPL career has to end with?

If RCB get to the playoffs they will be favorites to go all the way! They will have huge momentum going their way... Going over CSK will be big booster and some teams in playoffs are in slippery mode (SRH, RR...) This is the key match for them!
Sanju Samson does this every year, starts off with a bang and then fizzles out.
RR doing the same being his team
And his fans keep hating KL or whoever takes his "spot" in the Indian team

What a turnaround this is from RCB. Started off at the bottom after 5-6 games and now they are among the top 4. Brilliant stuff and what a thriller of a game we saw yesterday. Absolute class. Jadeja should have done it but he missed those 2 balls that were on good length and should have been deposited BUT Kudos to RCB for a mammoth comeback.

Overrated "Shivam Dube" exposed on the big stage
No. Lost form in the tail end. He also scored two ducks in the lsat 2 match. We have recency bias. We all saw how Patidar was struggling to hit even full toss against English bowlers in Test.

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Punjab Kings, 69th Match:

Punjab Kings have won the toss and have opted to bat

A 200+ target gunned down with just one half centurian. SRH have nailed what T20 is all about.

Batting average means little in T20. SR is the all important metric.

A batsman with high average and middling SR *harms* his own team.

A batsman with middling average and elite SR is priceless.

SunRisers Hyderabad (215/6) beat Punjab Kings (214/5) by 4 wickets in an IPL 2024 match

RR vs KKR

The toss has been delayed as there is some rain in Guwahati and the pitch is under cover.

If a batsman consumes half the balls his strike rate has to be above par on flat tracks. On tricky surfaces anchoring is fine. But anchoring everywhere is a recipe for disaster.

Cummins-Starc set for Aussie showdown in IPL playoffs

Pat Cummins has overseen one last group-stage win for his Sunrisers Hyderabad charges – and it's enough to set up an IPL playoffs head-to-head between the Australian captain and fellow mega-rupee signing Mitchell Starc.

Cummins' team sealed a four-wicket win over Punjab Kings on Sunday in front of their home fans to ensure they finished second in the table.

Between them, Cummins ($3.67 million) and Starc (a record $4.43 million) were sold for eye-watering figures in last December's IPL auction.

There will be plenty of Australian interest too in the eliminator with Cameron Green and a resurgent Glenn Maxwell ready to propel RCB past the Royals after winning six matches on the trot.

Thankfully RCB have also sorted this out (Kohli changed his approach) with contributions from everyone...

"Rs 5 Crore In Drain": Father Of RCB Star Yash Dayal, Whose Last Over Knocked Out CSK, Remembers Brutal Taunts

t has been a tough journey for fast bowler Yash Dayal in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The cricketer from Uttar Pradesh joined Gujarat Titans for IPL 2023 but ended up having a horror run. The moment that made him a household name was a truly unfortunate one as Rinku Singh slammed him for five consecutive sixes to hand Kolkata Knight Riders a sensational victory. He became a subject of internet memes and things got worse when he was picked by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for a massive amount of Rs 5 crore ahead of IPL 2024. Internet was abuzz with people claiming that RCB have wasted their money but Yash Dayal proved all the critics wrong with a match-winning performance against CSK.

In an interview with Indian Express, Yash Dayal's father Chandarpal opened up about the taunts and trolling that the family had to face after the pacer's disappointing show for Gujarat Titans.

“In one of the WhatsApp groups, a person I know shared a meme, mocking Yash for conceding five sixes and I still remember what he wrote with the picture ‘Prayagraj Express ki kahaani shuru hone se pehle hi khatam ho gayi (The story of Prayagraj Express got over before it even began),” he said.

“It never stopped, we as a family literally quit all WhatsApp groups, barring our family one. Even when RCB picked him in the auction for Rs 5 crore, I remember someone saying ‘Paise naale mei baha aaye Bangalore waale (The franchise threw the money in the drain)'. We live in a world where even if you switch off from social media, you will end up seeing all kinds of stuff,”

“Everyone wrote him off. And today, I am receiving a number of congratulatory calls and messages. Still, no one is talking about his hard work, grind and the way he tackled the pressure. The slower bouncer he has developed, the other variations he has learnt in the last year. The way he has bowled at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where even an edge goes for a six. But it's fine because in one year, we as a family have realised cricket really is a funny game,”

Great comeback by Yash. That 1st ball six actually save him that over.

Dhoni's 6 actually helped him get a newer and drier ball to bowl those variations. What an over it was by him in the end. Getting dhoni out and not letting Jadeja even touch 2 balls was a very special thing to do when both of them were smashing the bowlers easily. Brilliant stuff by RCB,

Was MS Dhoni At Fault For RCB Handshake Fiasco? New Video Adds Fresh Twist

Chennai Super Kings' elimination from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 left a bitter taste in the mouths of fans as their dream of seeing MS Dhoni lifting the trophy at Chepauk remained unfulfilled. It isn't yet known whether Dhoni plans to play another season, and in that respect, Royal Challengers Bengaluru players were slammed by certain former cricketers and experts over their failure to do the customary handshake with MS Dhoni. Many suggested that RCB players 'over-celebrated' their playoffs progression, prompting Dhoni to return to the dressing room without shaking hands. But, a video, contradicting the same, has emerged on social media.

A fan on social media claimed that Dhoni didn't wait much before deciding to return to the dressing room without shaking RCB players' hands, hitting out at those criticising the host team for 'over-celebrating'.

After the handshake row, RCB players were criticised by the likes of Harsha Bhogle and Michael Vaughan for not giving MS Dhoni the respect he deserved.

"If there ever was a time for a group of players to show awareness. We don't know but if that was MS Dhoni's last game and those players have run around the ground doing handstands when all they need is to wait and meet the legend. We have to just go and shake his hands and then we can do a few cartwheels and handstands. That's absolutely fine," the former England captain said on Cricbuzz.

"This is an iconic player. I wouldn't want to be an RCB player tomorrow morning thinking, 'Wait a minute, MS Dhoni has announced his retirement and we didn't have the decency to go and shake his hand first'," he added.

Harsha, one of the most renowned commentators in the game, wasn't happy seeing RCB players being lost in their celebrations, forgetting to shake Dhoni's hands.

"It doesn't matter. You win a World Cup final, you display your emotions, but you still shake hands with the opposition. That handshake is symbolic of the fact that (two teams are saying) 'now, our antagonism is over. We did not give an inch to each other. Now it's over,'" said Bhogle.

'A calm, confident and very dangerous side': Why former Pakistan legend feels KKR have the upper hand over SRH in IPL Qualifier 1

Legendary Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram has cautioned about the formidable bowling attack of ahead of their highly anticipated IPL 2024 Qualifier 1 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

KKR finished the league stage at the top of the table with an impressive net run rate (NRR) of 1.428, showcasing dominance in both batting and bowling

In their league encounter this season, KKR emerged victorious over with a tense 4-run win at Eden Gardens.

Akram praised KKR's bowling attack for its collective effort throughout the season, emphasizing their ability to consistently take wickets.

"This is one of the main factors [behind KKR finishing on top of the points table]. There are wicket[1]taking bowlers. The teams that will take wickets will win the matches," Akram told Sportskeeda.

He highlighted the contributions of Varun Chakaravarthy (18 wickets), Harshit Rana (16 wickets), and all-rounders Andre Russell and Sunil Narine (15 wickets each), along with Mitchell Starc, who has 12 wickets.

"Starc single-handedly won them a game as well. They are going in the final as a calm, confident, and very dangerous side for sure," Akram added.

Akram, who has previously coached KKR, noted the team's controlled aggression as a key factor. "Almost everyone performed; they played Manish Pandey in one game and he also delivered. So, that shows that everybody is happy and confident.

They have aggression, but they have controlled aggression. They are not cocky or overconfident," he added. However, Akram did highlight a potential challenge for KKR with the absence of Phil Salt, who has returned home for national team commitments.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz is expected to replace him in the playoffs. "No doubt, Phil Salt's absence will affect them," Akram remarked.

Ahmedabad and Chennai are not flat pitches. Also with the weather changing, it may start assisting seamers to move the ball and spinners to grip on... Batsmen need to modify according to this... KKR & SRH who blasted their way will have to reassess...

SRH think they are playing in Hyderabad. This is not the pitch to blindly go for it. Have to make adjustments.

There goes another one.

Hope my home team SRH can still get to a good total.. I think if they get to 180 its game on.
