Toss Update:

Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings, 65th Match

Rajasthan Royals opt to bat

Proteas Men’s fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has returned home from the Indian Premier League due to a lower limb soft tissue infection.

The 28-year-old consulted a specialist on arrival in South Africa and is being closely monitored by the Cricket South Africa medical team.

His preparation for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA are not expected to be affected.

CSA
PBKS will not miss him.

Rabada struggled badly in this IPL and PBKS are already out of the tournament.

Ashwin has improved his batting so much in shorter format. He always had excellent technique for Tests. Now he has added attacking shots to his armory.

Rajasthan Royals 144/9

Punjab Kings (18.5/20 overs) 145/5

PBKS won by 5 wickets (with 7 balls remaining)

Sam Curran starred as Punjab Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by 5 wickets in their IPL 2024 game in Guwahati on Wednesday. Chasing a modest target of 145 on a tricky surface at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, PBKS reached home in 18.5 overs, thanks to Curran's unbeaten 63 off 41. Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal picked two wickets apiece but failed to win the game for their side.

Earlier, Riyan Parag's fighting knock of 48 off 34 steered RR to 144 for 9 in 20 overs after the side opted to bat first. For PBKS, Sam Curran, Rahul Chahar, and Harshal Patel all picked two wickets each.

Can I support RCB since Fizz/Pathirana won't be playing for CSK anymore?

It will be funny if RCB make it but RR gets kicked out.

Arjun Tendulkar needs to up his pace. He has good line and length and gets good swing. But his pace is only 130k. Slower than Bhuvi.

Wadhera needs to bowl more to get better at leg spin. Looks decent enough for a 5th bowler. He is a brilliant batter down the order too.
All youngsters must learn the art of bowling to stay relevant.

klrahul back to his tuk tuk ways. 26 runs of 23 balls. What a pathetic player. And people blame Goenka like seriously !

IPL should have been over in 1st week of May with teams playing 9 matches each - too long too tedious too injurious 2 international cricket .

Yes tournament is too long, number of matches should also be reduced, and there should be more double headers, maybe triple headers on Sundays. Teams are taking 4-5 days break sometimes which is not needed... If travelling is hectic, they should schedule matches in same venue continuously... Tournament should not last long more than 30-35 days... It will be better this way on the long run...

LSG is looking for NRR boost? I think they should also bowl brilliantly for that... (which is unlikely with their bowling unit and against MI batting). At the most they may end up winning this match marginally...!

Klrahul tuk tuk statpadder SR's :

2019 ODI world cup strike rate 79

2021 T20 WC strike rate 87

2022 T20 WC strike rate 66

2023 ODI world cup strike rate 79

Looking at Pace bowling all rounders like Arshad Khan, Anshul Kamboj, Yudhvir Singh, Naman Dhir, Nitish Reddy etc.. Its amazing how bad BCCI is at identifying talented pace bowling all rounders. In the last 5-7 years, India only tried Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar.

Whoever is scouting all rounders for BCCI must be fired. If not for IPL, we would never see these players and think that there are no fast bowling all rounders at all in India.

Headlines tomorrow : KL guides LSG to 210 with magnificent 55(41)

The useless KL Rahul, an opener, did not score his first boundary until the 12th over in a T20 match. Dont know , might be a record of some sorts. And - he couldn't score a boundary until another useless show pony so called allrounder Hardik Pandya came in to bowl.

This is one of the best games that Rohit has played in a while and he is only striking at 180. Just imagine if Rohit has an average game. He will lose the match for sure.

Great T20 players when its their day, will strike between 220-300 S/R.

Good innings from Naman Dhir. He is much better than Hardik Pandya with the bat and about the same with the ball.

After the T20 WC, Pandya will be seeing a lot more competition for the AR spot. A lot of them are coming through. Even fast bowlers in the side have to be wary of their positions. You cannot just be a one trick pony.

Abysmal run for MI continues as they lost another match today this time against LSG.

MI lost the match by 19 runs against LSG.

Lucknow Super Giants beat Mumbai Indians by 18 runs at Wankhede Stadium on Friday. Chasing the target of 215 runs, MI were restricted to 196 for 6.

Earlier, Nicholas Pooran scored 75 off 29 balls as LSG posted a total of 214 for 6 in 20 overs. LSG needed to beat MI with a margin of over 300 to stay alive in the playoff race, but they posted only 214.

Meanwhile, it was a poor outing for Arjun Tendulkar, who replaced Jasprit Bumrah in the MI playing XI. Arjun returned figures of 0 for 22 in 2.2 overs before an injury forced him to leave the ground midway through his bowling spell.

RCB vs CSK, 68th Match at Bengaluru

Toss: CSK chose to field

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Playing XI): Faf du Plessis(c), Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik(w), Karn Sharma, Yash Dayal, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Siraj

Chennai Super Kings (Playing XI): Rachin Ravindra, Ruturaj Gaikwad(c), Daryl Mitchell, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni(w), Mitchell Santner, Shardul Thakur, Tushar Deshpande, Simarjeet Singh, Maheesh Theekshana

Pitch has become a turner. RCB will struggle to score 150 here and they don't even have the spin quality anywhere near to CSK.

Only Siraj magic spell can save RCB. If the pitch gets damp again with another shower before CSK comes to bat... But its unlikely to happen (CSK always has good luck and fortunes running their way). I think pitch will settle nicely when they come into bat and only outfield will be slightly wet to create problems to RCB fielders...

Lol so many players have left IPL hahahahahah.
They deserve this humiliation. LOL.

The approach in IPL this year has really made such a difference, teams would be looking at 150 on such tracks in previous years.

Now they go searching for more. May not make it, but makes it a lot more fun

This rajat patidar has looked hopeless in international cricket and here he is destroying these Indian trundlers on regular basis.LoL.

But one thing is sure... RCB team gave something to cheer for their fans with the way they played in their last few games and the hope they gave (regardless of result in this match!)

If RCB get to the playoffs they will be favorites to go all the way! They will have huge momentum going their way... Going over CSK will be big booster and some teams in playoffs are in slippery mode (SRH, RR...) This is the key match for them!

In Theekshana and Pathirana, SL have 2 absolute bankers as bowlers.

If their batting comes together, I trust them to expect them to go far.

Faf du Plessis out or not out? RCB skipper furious after controversial umpiring decision in IPL game vs CSK

tBRJW7j.png

CSK rocking Deshpande and Thakur as front line seamers on all important match. IPL deserves this humiliation for having just 1 match each day and being so long this year.

CSK in better position at this point for qualification than RCB. Target is 201.
