I get serious goosebumps listening to Interstellar's soundtrack. I get so many questions about this universe, our existence, space travel etc etc whenever I listen to the soundtrack. What do you guys think about it?

Just watched "Arrival", a great film with a soundtrack reminiscent of "Interstellar"

Listen to Time, the Inception theme. Hans Zimmer is a legend when it comes to this stuff.

Hands down the best theme you'll ever hear. Makes me feel like I can climb everest in a chaddi with no equipment.

I've heard it and it ranks alongside the Interstellar theme for me.

But what are your thoughts on Interstellar's theme?

I'll be honest with you. I was planning to watch the movie this weekend actually, missed every opportunity to see it this far. I'm gonna wait and listen to it in the movie.

Don't want to spoil the feel.

Sounds petty as hell but I'm very particular about all this. :usman

Sure. But I think you'll definitely need subtitles because there's some solid scientific talk in it and Matthew McConaughey speaks in a weird way.

I have no clue what you're talking about. What exactly is Interstellar?

Film music, trailer music, anime osts are all I ever listen to the past 3-4 years.

I do like Zimmer, especially the theme with the organ in Interstellar and the pounding Man of Steel credits piece.

Interstellar was an amazing movie really loved it.. The sound track was very gripping especially when the girl Murphy was going through her old stuff and her brother was on his way and her dad was stuck in that time thing and hoping she understands the morse code.. the music there was perfect so gripping gave me chills..

Doesn't Cosmos(Tv series) do that to you?? Its even more remarkable considering it shows the journey of mankind and how insignificant we are w.r.t timelines of Universe or even life on earth.

It is quite good. Hans Zimmer never disappoints.

Never watch a movie with subtitles unless it's foreign or your sound system isn't great

You watch movies without subtitles, means you have a good grasp of the languages in which you are watching movies. That's why impressive.

Yeah I used to watch with subtitles a few years ago but then I realized your eyes focus on the text more than what is happening in the movie itself

That movie is fantastic and the soundtrack is also amazing.

This movie is right up there with the greatest movies I've seen like Shawshank Redepmtion, Gladiator, The Godfather, Fight Club etc.

Pure quality.

I saw the movie in cinema and I think the best features about this movie was the background sound and music. Amazing experience and only watching it in a cinema would do justice to such a musical score.

The movie itself was a bit long, a bit melodramatic at the end but the sound and visuals made it all worthwhile.

i must be the only person who almost never notices the score then (unless it's star wars or good the bad and the ugly or something distinct like that)...

Everything about Star Wars is overrated. But that's just my opinion :)

You are not alone .. i never pay attention to background music / soundtrack etc ...

Even if you don't directly pay attention to it a good score always makes the scene more absorbing/enjoyable.

Exactly what I was thinking. The soundtrack of Interstellar and Inception does take you to another place.

Idk know why Pakistan doesn't make music like this instead of making loud & tacky Bollywood-esque songs.

That's why they are called background music.

You don't need to pay specific attention to them but they themselves set up the atmosphere which goes unnoticed.

On topic, my favorite....

He's a pirate and time.

Ennio Morricone is my favorite composer, the guy has produced some of the greatest movie scores ever. Absolute legend.

Desis don't take music seriously and there's also lack of dedication plus infrastructure.

More over hans zimmer is a legend. So comparing his music to other current artists is a bit futile.

Same. He's the best film composer of all time imo. Even better than John Williams who has probably produced more iconic scores. My favourite pieces by Ennio Morricone are both in "The good The Bad and The Ugly". The main theme and "The Ecstacy of Gold" which is a personal favourite of mine.

Dollar trilogy and Once Upon A Time In West's music were true masterpiece.

From what I read, Hans Zimmer was asked by Nolan to compose a soundtrack for his next project but did not inform him what the project would be. Remarkable.

I also thought the soundtrack for Gravity was epic too.

Also the soundtrack of Once Upon a Time in America. One of my favorite movies of all time and the soundtrack is one of the best parts of it.
