Skies one to point. Warne gets him.
Poor cricket from Afridi.
well he was facing warne - afridi should open - shots like that go for boundaries in the early overs when the ball is brand new and there is pace on the ballshabs100 said:this guy is an idiot!)

Well, his prowess these days is as a bowler....
and we should declare 30 yard circles as boundaries while Afridi battinggibster82 said:well he was facing warne - afridi should open - shots like that go for boundaries in the early overs when the ball is brand new and there is pace on the ball

out of those 20-30, 20 was scored in one innings. So less than 10 runs from rest of his innings. He is been a joke in batting.RumiNYC said:20-30 runs in every 6+ innings ? jeez ppl...get a life...

inshallah for Pakistan he fires as he would know playing for pak like this would cost him more
That can never be an excuse for his scores in the series.Mercenary said:With Afridi in limited overs cricket you either open with him, bat him at 3 or down at 7 or 8.
He's not a middle order bat. He's a pinch hitter either at the top or the bottom of the order!
Er...he is also a bowler not just a brain-dead batsmanjackal786 said:If PCB picks Afridi even after seeing this repeated irresponsible batting, there are no duffers more than them.

jackal786 said:Like he played responsibly for Pakistan? wasn't he the one who caused a collapse recently in a one dayer against SA and publicly apologized? This guy is not fit for playing cricket. As a neutral fan one can see why Lawson is cringing about this idiotic, irresponsible, useless cricketer.
DC owners should be feeling happy now for the price. Must be repenting for what they paid for Symonds. Atleast they paid Afridi as per his performance.pakistanbest said:afridi has been a big let down with his batting during the IPL, but i am not concerned as i think for pakistan he would play SLIGHTLY different and use his brain a bit, i personally think afridi sees IPL as a net session and nothing more. also maybe he is just playing to the price he was payed, a stupid and cheap price.

That would be a wonderful example except for the minute fact that Afridi has 6 Test 100's at an average of 40 in only 25 odd matches. But keep going, this is entertaining, all this based on a domestic T20 gamejackal786 said:That is the lamest excuse one can give to keep an irresponsible cricketer. Bhajji is not a batsman too. But every time when he plays irresponsible hoicks he was really torn apart. Only recently he has calmed down.. and started playing responsible. For example 2 fifties in Australia in the test matches. He is not even a specialist bowler like Bhajji. Kumble for all his wickets he can play irresponsibly. Doesn't he play with common sense in Tests?

So whats your point. He is not performing because its domestic T20 and will score a century on his next international match?Easa said:That would be a wonderful example except for the minute fact that Afridi has 6 Test 100's at an average of 40 in only 25 odd matches. He has been consistently performing with the ball for Pakistan so I have no idea how the selectors will justify dropping him. His batting is nothing but a bonus, its only the hardcore Afridi fans that have drooled over the batting prowess of Afridi. The majority of us have maintained he is a good bowler who can bat/slog. Dont forget he was selected primarily as a leg-spinner before 'that' innings. As a leg-spinner who has been taking wickets consistently for the last 3 years, I cant see how he can be droppedjackal786 said:That is the lamest excuse one can give to keep an irresponsible cricketer. BTW his stats are as good enough to label him as a specialist leg-spinner
Its just an IPL match mateRumiNYC said:i swear i checked my blood pressure level around 110 b4 Afridi come to bat, now it's 145+...freaking AFRIDI..
Thats for the team management to decide. But dropping him would be the pinnacle of stupidity from the selectorsjackal786 said:He should bat at no.11 though.

You can only judge a batsman by where he's playing. If that was the criterion, would bowlers who bowl well in England and Australia be underrated, just because they are bowler friendly tracks there? The fact of the matter is that an average of 40 for a number 6 or 7 batsman, who is an all rounder, who bowls useful leg spin... these are really good statistics. In ODI's and T20's, he has always been inconsistent.jackal786 said:Ya those flat track useless centuries most of them. In general he has let down the side with bat more than any tailender let alone middle order batsman in the history of cricket. Lawson Australian understands it better than these 15 year old Afridi worshippers.
